How do you know If I was typing from Libya or not..
Libya still 2016 was still good and better than Nigeria by far, i mean way too far.
Thousands of Nigeria still came to Libya btw 2011 - 2018

Guy, stop misleading people abeg. Go and reread what you wrote before I quoted you, you said "I spent only two years in Libya and then came back". If na Libya you dey, come out and say so with your full chest and stop deceiving people.

But even more importantly, which Libya are you talking about? Or is there a different Libya from the one that Nigerians are being repatriated from (as recently as last month), I mean the one that I have provided news links to below. Travel.
I remember Austin my good friend. He used to work in Union Bank. His branch manager left the job and traveled to the US with his family. Austin thought about this for a while and asked himself. “ if a whole branch manager of my bank, my own oga could leave this good job and travel out, what am I still doing here?” No so Austin arrange himself travel to US too. Dude has 3 buildings on his name in Owerri and one in Lagos. Living a very good life. He’s been there for 15 years now. So bro, travel if you have the opportunity, what is 300k a month in Nigeria now? Even people wey dey work for oil companies dey leave am travel.

Abroad has changed a lot thanks to COVID-19 and its mandates

@bolded, i like your input bro, you really smart, that part exactly is where most gullible nigerians fail to get it and fall in the hands of Fake and thief Travel Agents

Abroad ain't as easy or rosy as it used to be, courtesy of covid and post effect..

Post pandemic left alot of abroad citizens jobless themselves and one person will just decide here to go get a job there when they already have millions of unemployed people over there themselves

Originalsly:
Your friends that left ... how are they really doing abroad? The money you have saved ... and plan to borrow .... how much will be left on arriving abroad?... can you really afford school fees? Would you have working papers?... are there jobs available?... for you? If you're still in contact ... again... find out how your friends are really doing. Abroad has changed a lot thanks to COVID-19 and its mandates. My advice is to keep your job .... whichever country you choose .... visit first and get a first hand feel of the place. The grass always looks greener on the other side... is it?.... will it be for you? Yet again ... how are your friends doing abroad?

Bro....you are still very young and quite the appropriate time to travel. But my advice to you, strange though, is get married (if u’ve a girl u perfect together with) one should travel to UK on study visa and other hv a dependant visa. Before u guys finally get ur footing either in the UK or Canada. From experience, I got the chance to travel to the UK at age 30 but I was marooned in the UK after 5 years with singleness, loneliness, boredom which made me miserable. Thank God things are getting better. who no no no go no. My story

BrodaAgbaya:
Hi guys,

I was planning to travel out to UK, Germany or any other stable European country for my Master`s by September of this year of which i will be able to raise 2million from my pocket and then borrow about 2/3million from a person i know for some fees then get there are do part times jobs to complete my tuition fee.

After some thoughts, i realized this wasn`t a really smart move cos i have a good job here in Nigeria where I'm paid above 200k each month, This will increase to above 300k in the next 2months still with some bonuses.

Is there any sense in dropping all these to go to a place of uncertainty and start leaving from hand to mouth cos i`d be struggling to pay my debt and tuition??

One of the driving forces towards wanting to travel out is the fear of 2023 elections and the fact that many of my friends we finished together are all travelling out. Yeah, i know the second reason doesn't make sense, but that`s just me being honest here.

My plan now is to keep working here in Nigeria probably for about 3/4 years more, live the baby boy life, develop relevant skills then get a job over there or go for an MBA. 3/4 years from now i should have saved more than 2million for travel.

Also note i will be turning 26 towards the end of the year, so i think there`s still a bit of time on my end.

I need advice from you guys, is this a sensible idea putting into consideration things that could go wrong pre/post elections, the current standard of living in Lagos and the current and future exchange rates.

I have noticed the crazy rush to leave the country among we youths but i have also noticed that those that have good paying jobs in multinationals, fintechs, banks, govt etc are not bothered about leaving the country. Also noticed most of my friends who left were all earning less than 100k in salary.

Please tell me what y`all think??

I won't support borrowing money for the move except if you are going to study hot IT courses like software engineering, AI,Cloud computing etc or you are going there as a permanent resident.
If you are going to study in demand IT courses, chances are that you will get a job quickly, stabilize and pay off your debt.
But if it is just ordinary course,it is not advisable as getting a job quickly is not guaranteed.
Abroad is very sweet and easy but it depends on how you arrive and what skills you have so people need to be very careful. There is a difference between moving abroad as a permanent resident and moving abroad as a student without rich parents.

But the good thing for you is that you are young and still have the time to recover from setbacks. If you look at it and still want to take the risk, do it now before hitting 30 cos your chances of settling down properly abroad reduces with age.

Seriously I make your salary sometimes in a day or in 3 days or more. Even me I have the urge to also travel out of the country. One of the reasons while to travel dey hungry me sometimes is, even with all your money, you can just die take example the robbery that happened in ibadan. Also there is know stable job, Tinubu can be President tomorrow and he wud change all policies the previous govt put in place, that alone can bankrupt you. I know people earning more than a million and they still left Nigeria. in Nigeria lots of people worth more than 80M with you combine both cash and asset, yet the still leave in purverty of can't even eat a good meal because if you eat very well, then in nor time your money to finish. You 200k is small money, if you can move out pls do.

Concerning UK, I wouldn't advice you travel if you don't have enough money. The masters there is different from many European countries and America.
You'll be left with almost 50% of the fees that will be paid before the end of the masters program which is about 12 months. Also, most students are not allowed to work more than 20hrs/week when school is in session. Trust me bro, it's gonna be hard raising that fees. You have a good job in Nigeria, just save for few more years till you can afford about 80% of the fees on arrival. That would make your tjme there better and you'd go through less stress.

Did said people should move to Libya now?
Did mention, that people should travel there?
I was only responding to the thread and sharing my own experience.
2011 - 2017 was still better than Nigeria.
People are still traveling to Iraq or Afgah before USA pulled out
People will travel to where they think will be better for them, no matter the news.

There are problems in Libya since the death of Gadaffi but Like i said many people are still traveling to Libya everyday, even now.

I didn't even bother to finish reading your epistle when you said you make 200k and you are still thinking of traveling to God knows where.

Well, for those who have never traveled are so passionate about it, but i must tell you the truth in 3 ways

1.. the most boring place in the world is Europe. i lived in Madrid(Spain) for 8 months. i regretted my migration. I only left a small business that wasn't paying me up to 50k a month, when you are eating 200k.

2.. it's easier to succeed in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world. Yes read that again. people that traveled and make it, if they can apply the same energy here, they'd be twice richer. This is a story for another day

3.. Ask God his plan for your life. that's if you are not an atheist

Easy to make money in Nigeria, if you know your way becos nobody will question your wealth.
Then depending on the kind of money we are taking about here:
5M? 10M? 100M?
Then think about Health care?
Your safety unless you have like 5 Policemen depending on your wealth

Bros I’ll advise you to listen more to those that are already abroad and those of us here in Nigeria , some of us have an extremely unrealistic idea of what life abroad entails. But personally I think you should stay and survey for a bit and keep saving saving , so you can move out in your own terms ,and not in debt , when it’s time to leave.

There are lots of questions you need to ask yourself before you decide. Number one question is the job you are doing at the moment how secured is it, and If you are relieved of it tomorrow what will happen to you and how soon are you likely to get another job?

I am not in the best position to tell you not to leave because me sef wan japa and I am doing that to give my children the opportunity to compete globally among their equals.

Nigeria will get better but it can not happen overnight, for those that have that patient let them wait behind but for some of us that we have run out of patience see you at the other side.

My advise for you is to come to scotland UK. The tution fees here is cheap compared to other parts of the uk. do your findings on google. There is west scotland university, university of glasgow and their are unversities in the capital of scotland edingburn. I am telling you this because i live there. I moved from england to live up north in scotland. i have a 25 year daughter who is a graduate in england . The fees down south is very expensive, so come up north. Its not easy doing it alone i think you need help if you have brothers and uncles to help. The door is open now. They give student visas to study in scotland. FOR MORE INFO ealli45@yahoo.co.uk.

2.. it's easier to succeed in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world. Yes read that again. people that traveled and make it, if they can apply the same energy here, they'd be twice richer. This is a story for another day

3.. Ask God his plan for your life. that's if you are not an atheist
why are you still in Spain
