Nigerian UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has successfully defended his title after beating Australian Rob Whittaker.

Adesanya won the fight via unanimous decision, winning on all three judges scorecards.

The judges scored the fight 48-47, 48-47, 49-46, all in favour of Adesanya.

The fight was the second battle between the two, after the Nigerian initially won the UFC middleweight title off Whittaker in 2019.

Adesanya knocked out Whittaker, known as ‘The Reaper’, in two rounds back in 2019 but had to grind out a five-round victory this time.

The Nigerian, also known as ‘The last stylebender’, started promisingly, knocking down Whittaker in round one.

However, the Australian grew more into the fight in later rounds as he mixed take-downs in with his punching attempts.

He had his strongest round in the fifth but ultimately did not do enough to wrestle the title away from the Champion.

Adesanya has now defended his title successfully for the fourth time since winning it, beating Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa, Marvin Vettori and now Whittaker..

Alongside with Kamaru Usman, the two Nigerians continue to dominate the UFC middleweight and welterweight divisions.

Congratulations to Izzy and as always, Naija never dey carry last!

Skinny clown has done it again.
Small boy with big mouth and extraordinary confidence.
After final stare down, I heard Izzy say "He won't win, because I'm not gonna lose."
Another green on his slip, just few days after signing monster contract which leaves him as one of the highest paid athlete in MMA.
Izzy should cut some soap for Ukraine.

Respect to Whittaker. Respect to all MMA fighters worldwide. You're all phenomenal human beings.
Respect to Polyana Viana, who had all the excuse of being a weaker gender and crying like a weakling, instead she carried out a quick Karma on the burglar who came to hurt her.
These are the real GOATs who chose the Iron way; battered, beaten and broken to be better men. Not some spoilt brats Pessi and Penaldo who kick round leather about like pregnant toads and worshipped by sissies around the world.

Anyway, just like En Sabah Nur said in Apocalypse, "The weak have taken the earth."
The world is now in it's All-time-low. The era where weak simps rule and are famed among their sissy admirers.

Congrats Adesanya
..

Truth be told , fight was too uncomfortably close for Israel Adesanya as the champion.

Israel needs to do more to convince the judges that he is the champion

Robert Whittaker is the best middleweight in the world, bar one. Unfortunately for the Australian star, he fights in the same division as the absolute best.

Israel Adesanya retained his middleweight title with a unanimous decision Saturday at the Toyota Center, beating Whittaker for a second time. This time, it went to the judges, who saw it 48-47 twice and 49-46 for Adesanya.

wink Congratulations! Naija to the world.

At least something good about us.

Not some corrupt yahoo yahoo boys, corrupt government officials, corrupt Road Safety that prints plate numbers that don't last for 3 years, not Yahaya Bello who is extremely corrupt and wicked.

Wow... The confidence Adesanya exhibited before going into that match, I really feared for him. I was like shey his enemies no go shame him so?

I'm so happy for his win, I have been following him even before he joined UFC, the guy is good and smooth.
