I took the car to him again and he scan, the only code seeing is the Oxygen sensor and he said Oxygen sensor is useless when the car does not have catalyst in it

Not true, without oxygen sensor, your car will also consume more fuel than required

Kindly assist with the attached scan result ...car is Honda baby boy automatic 4 plug , car drives roughly early in the morning for about 3 mins but once warmed up every thing goes smoothly...also it jerk for the first 5 mins of drive when switching from gear 1 to 2 , as a matter of fact, it will not successful shift to gear 2 and the D4 blink immediately...will have to off and start again ....but if I start the car in the morning, leave it to warm for 5 mins before shifting to drive everything works perfectly for the rest of the day even if park for another 8 hrs before driving again , the issue is always in the morning, I have to let it warm up for like 5 mins before driving off to enjoy smooth shift of gear and smooth engine acceleration...I scan the car and attached is the result I want to know exactly what to fix , thank you

I am currently facing a similar but more severe issue.

I am also a first time car owner, here are my issues:

1. Got a 2008 Nigerian used honda accord car on 22nd Dec 2021 for N1.8m
2. I went with a friend who has been driving honda cars for over 11yrs, he brought his mechanic that has been fixing his car for over seven years.
3. Him and the mechanic confirmed the car ok before I paid, though the car was making noise but the car dealer convinced us that it was just a catalyst that we need to buy.
4. The mechanic drove the car to his workshop to do the necessary servicing and to fix the catalyst, I transferred 120k to him to buy and change everything necessary, he checked the legs, fixed new catalyst, changed the tires and changed oil using 5W-30 oil since we could not get the 5w-20.
5. After servicing the car that same day, the noise reduced but still loud, the car also vibrate on ac and on idle, I took the car back to the mechanic, he was afraid to tell me that it is an engine problem.
6. So I called the car dealer, he brought his mechanic and they confirmed that the noise is coming from the oil pump and top, I gave him 50k to change it on 28th December 2021.
7. On 20th January 2022 the same sound returned, this time it was louder, I took it to the mechanic and it was the oil pump again, this time, the price of oil pump has increased because I went with them to buy it myself, I spent 60k to fix the oil pump again on 25th Jan 2022
8. Fast forward to yesterday, 6th Feb 2022, the sound returned again.
9. Today 7th January 2022, I took it to the same mechanic, he said the parts seller sold bad oil pump to me that I should tell him to change it for me, the parts dealer is insisting that the oil pump he sold to me was ok.
9. The parts dealer brought his mechanic, they call the Mechanic 'Awilo' at Willoughby here at Oyingbo, Awilo said that he'll have to dismantle the engine in order to confirm every fault with the car, but he's suspecting that the crankshaft will be bad, that I should budget N200k.
10. I went back to the mechanic, and he advised me that I should not allow them to dismantle the engine that he is very sure that the problem is the oil pump.
10. With all the repairs that has been going on, the car still make a very loud vibration except when on motion, the ac cools well only when on motion or when the weather is cold i.e morning and evening time

Dear Nairalanders, I am regretting the fact that I used my money to go and buy wahala worth N1.8m, you guys should please help me with what I can do. I live around Oyingbo, Lagos.

Having used Honda for over 10yrs, just replace the engine and get a peace of mind. Next time, never listen to a dealer whenever they tell you "Its a small problem". If it's really a small problem, it would have been fixed to improve the cost price before selling the car

You should have cleared the codes first before scanning again. I believe most of the codes you have are stored ones and not current

P1298: electric load detector circuit high voltage (fusebox wahala)

P1382: cylinder position sensor intermittent interruption (check crankshaft sensors)

P1456: evaporative emissions control system leakage (fuel tank leakage)

P1486: cooling system malfunction (check ect sensor)

P1607: engine control module or powertrain control module malfunction (brainbox wahala)

As i said try to remove your battery head overnight then drive it to have the technician scan it again and revert back so we can know the current fault codes

Good Morning House.....I currently use an honda pilot 2008, its a reliable daily driver. Am considering getting crv 3rd generation. I discovered there are 2 engines 2.0l ivtec and 2.4l, which is better and why, or should I stick with Honda pilot. Thanks

2.4 CRV engine is a better option

Do you want to but a toks or naija used?

Most naija used cars are already messed up. The gear is CVT and very delicate

Good evening Professionals.

My 200e Honda pilot is flashing D light, it was scanned and it brought up this code p1750 Transaxle control module a/t system fault.

Kindly advise on what best to do on it.

Thank you.

Start saving up to replace your gearbox or get gear rewire to check it,if it can be fixed but get a honest technician in order for you not to waste much money

They obviously touched something...

Scan the car and hopefully there is a code that might point you to where to look

I have seen quite a number of people complain about CVT on their Hondas. Please I want to know if this generation of Honda Accord come with CVT, and if there’s any alternative. Thanks

@sylvez,
Any luck yet on your car?

If you're yet to find solution, kindly ask your mechanic to check your 'AC compressor bearing' and he should check your water pump too!

I suggest you take the car back to the 'exhause man' and complain to him.
He knows what to do!

My 2014 honda accord alarm keeps blaring randomly. Any idea on how to permanently disable the alarm?
A rewire guy said it can only be done with a computer or so.

One of the catch sensors or door sensors is malfunctioning. There is one on the boot, doors, fuel closure and bonnet. You have to find out which one is having an issue

Thanks, everything seems fine. I've been told a weak battery may trigger it. I just got the car, so I will need to get a battery and see.

All the 4 cylinders use CVT gears and there transmission fluid is unique, HCF-2.

Thanks for the explanation, I’m interested in the V6. Please does it have special fluid as well?

I don't think so.

My 2005 accord had that same issue and it drove me nuts as i couldn't lock my car for 30 minutes without the security alarm going off like crazy

I did an intensive online search & traced the cause to tthe sensor located at the bonnet area.

Disconnected it and it did the trick.

It's a sensor problem and not battery related.
It's easy to trace which sensor is malfunctioning.

It is said that numbers don't lie. So long as you use the right fluid, I believe you will be fine. Check out the link below. The v6 doesn't use CVT transmission and the ATF type is genuine Honda dw1

I guess they must be referring to steering angle sensor calibration.

You need a technician with a car scanner that can perform this function.

Guys, I bought fuel from a nearby Mobil to my Accord 2008 and few minutes later the transmission starts jerking while shifting especially from 1 to 2 and 2 to 3. Engine revs fine and idles well. Scan results bring nothing on transmission, nothing new on engine save for the O2 sensors code that has always been there.

I've drawn out a sample of the fuel, it looks okay. Did a fuel pressure test, was steady at 60psi.

Could this be a fuel related problem?

This car was driving perfect before entering buying fuel o.
