Celebrating women scientists in the developing world

Their research is changing the world we live in, and they come from developing countries all around the world. The OWSD-Elsevier Foundation Award for Early Career Women Scientists in the Developing World was given to them.

Every industrialized country has taken advantage of research output to maximize its potential. Nowadays, education without research is pointless. Educative research produces great goods, solutions to society problems, and money. That is why the west is progressing and achieving higher standards.

Do you have a passion for scholarly research? More African females are encouraged to investigate this.

Please, I need advice. My research work was published in a journal by my research supervisor, I have not be able to see the work online but I saw someone referenced the work in help published work.
Please, was the research work really published because my supervisor said she has published it.
I don't know if I should include it in my published journals.

Hello,

You could look up the journal online to see which issue it may have been published in or check up the title of your research through a simple Google search. If none of these bring back a result, she may have published it in a journal that does not have an online base. Alternatively, she could show you where it had been published to be sure of the publication.

I hope this helps.

With kind regards.

You should ask your research supervisor to give you details of the said publication: Name of journal, issue, article title, authors etc.

I'm still not sure what you want. You have the software and would want someone to show you how to use it, or you don't have it but know how to use it? I'll be able to assist you once I know exactly what you desire.

Fine, that's OK. The software is simple to operate.

Do you have access to a computer and are capable of following simple instructions? If you answered yes, there are three ways to obtain the software, and any of them will suffice depending on your objectives:

1. You bought the full version from the vendor; the student version is the cheapest.

2. Download a 30-day trial version that works exactly like the full version.

3. A cracked version is also acceptable.

I have both a cracked and a fully functional copy of the software.

So I recommend that you go to the vendor's website and download the trial version, then come back here and take a screenshot of your data; I'll show you how to use it. It's one of the most basic.

Good afternoon great scholar, plz my research interest involve environmental chemistry, my research have always been on heavy metals assessment. As we all know research around the world have move from assessment of pollutant to removal /remediation of pollutant from the environment. I want to embark on a research project which involve removal of pollutants such as antibiotic, hydrocarbons, metals e.t.c...pls how can I go about it. Prof whip7 pls I need your advice and guide

Download about 5 review articles on recent advances in removal technologies of those contaminants you mentioned; mostly those published from 2020 to 2022. Read through them, and check future perspectives/limitations given by the authors.

Hello,

Electrochemical Sensor for Detection of Heavy metals, inorganic ions, pathogens, biotoxins, viruses, etc

To detect the analytes described above, many approaches are employed. Electrochemical approaches, on the other hand, are quickly becoming a research hotspot due to the advantages of simple instrumentation, quick analysis, low cost, high sensitivity and stability, and the lack of costly procedures/preparation.

To carry out electrochemical sensing of analytes; you must have at least the following at your lab:

1. Bipotentiostat/galvanostat device ( the cheapest for basic analysis is around 600usd)

2. Electrochemical cell having working, counter and reference electrodes (atleast 700usd).

3. Mobile phone (Androids will do) or computer.

4. Screen Printed Electrodes and electrode polishing kits

5. Chemicals: Analyte you want to detect, buffer solutions etc.

Background Knolewdge you need:

You should learn about or already know about the following to understand how to analyze your data and do electrochemical sensing research:

1. Cyclic Voltammetry

2. Differential Pulse Voltammetry

3. Square Wave Voltammetry

4. Chronoamperometry

5. Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

So, if you're interested in working on it, make sure you have these equipment and the necessary background knowledge. If not, attempt to obtain the instrument and read up on the electrochemical procedures; following that, I will be able to assist you with your research. On the smallest scale, a modest detection lab for your research will cost roughly 2000 dollars.

Below are pictures of both handheld and lab-based bench-scale potentiostats.
