All their life they been involved in thuggery but have nothing to show for it..... then why would he think after giving them N1 million each they will have something to show for it? Why would he think they would use the training to develop themselves? I'm almost sure more than half of them will buy Okada.... and team up to form criminal gangs with a much wider coverage area. Funding another Boko Haram and don't even know... while some of us be shouting good development .

Our politicians are so cruel, many graduates are roaming street with no help, instead of assisting the graduates they rather support these evil men. What a wicked country

Rewarding villains under the pretext of amnesty is to discourage ingenuity.

Perhaps we all could subscribe to one form of lawlessness or the other, in order to access our rights as citizens...

Afterall, even the law makers and law enforcement guys are into very dirty unorthodox economic activities!

Hope the recipients are able to put the funds to productive use,and being able to repay the state after 3 years!

This effort by the governor is commendable and should be extended to graduates in the state and not just to ex-thug least you pass the wrong message of thuggery being profitable.

This could be imitated by the federation government by establishing modern and world class entrepreneurship centres across the 36 states of the federation so that students who immediately are done with NYSC are sent there to acquire various skills and a loan of 5million to set up business given to each, repayable after 3 years.

SpecialAdviser:
Good gesture but Buhari has made naira become useless. After they share it, since most of them are even used to thuggery life, the money will be spent in a short time.

Verdict is that they will still return to thuggery. My advice is that they get properly monitored after receiving the money.

The Nigerian government treats a billion problems as single entities not knowing that they are all interrelated issues. What happened to creating an atmosphere where all and all sectors can thrive.

This is really very impressive gov. zullum is no doubt one of the very best performing governors in Nigeria. This is exactly what tinibu and his appointed governors are supposed to be doing in lagos but instead tinibu is rather using them to win elections and also loot lagos state now he is planning to take the same thing to the national level God forbid.

Lol. And people are clamouring for this person to be president or vice. When you incentivise crime, you don't discourage it. Nay, you show people that if they are bad enough, sooner or later, they just might get a huge pay check from the government. Actions like this do not result in a lasting solution to thuggery. Rather it increases it.
What happened to rounding this criminals up and letting them face the law?
What happens to making sure the police and other security agencies work effectively to discourage crime and thuggery?
Nations that have advanced have never had it in their history books that criminals were paid off. Why have we decided to take this path that'll only lead to self destruct?
I just tire for this country.

Then again to think that after enduring Buhari's government for 8 years, there's no relief in site, because a large number of the population are clamouring for Tinubu, someone who is an integral part of the present regime to take over!!! And to do what I ask? Tinubu isn't going to change anything. He is just going to continue from where Buhari stopped. Which from the look of things only spells disaster.

Finally, if you are a Nigerian of whatever tribe and ethnicity. And you have ever complained about the present government. And all of a sudden thinks Tinubu, who is practically the present government is the best man for Nigeria. Then you're the biggest Hypocritical bigot, and frankly Nigeria could do without you.
Imagine man of the pee-poo as president and the super cop as IGP. naija will just be a large field of pharmacy...chai grin

This is commendable, our south eastern governors should learn from zulum, during Xmas he brings out free luxurious buses for Igbos going to the east, this northerners know how to empower there people, ebonyi state government dnt give contracts, the governor does all the works himself , it's ok, but why not buy the materials for the jobs from the building materials markets in ebonyi? But he goes to dangote cement direct, to lagos for rods and Onitsha, but expect them to pay the high tax, but cannot patronise them, he only patronise the cheap labour, but zulum disbursed corrola for city taxi and bought them from car stands in Maiduguri, our eastern governors lyk the one in ebonyi will go to Cotonou himself to buy them, tell me how people can grow, if not for the natural sagacity of Igbo pple they would have been the poorest in nigeria because the eastern governors knows nothing about governance, bcis they think governance is about igr, paying salary, and collecting security votes

How many thugs can the govt arrest and jail? Is better to empower the ones that have repented from their evil ways and ready to make something meaningful out of their lives.
