This phony screenshot after you Igbos altered Bonny and Opobo history on Wikipedia.Good thing it's not a reliable reference material.

Until the day you leave Nairaland and Facebook, and grow some balls to organize seminars and conferences in those locations (Bonny and Opubo). Then I'll take you seriously. For now you are just a group of non-entities seeking online attention.

I'll advise you channel all these energy towards dousing the fire that's beginning to rage in the SE.

Igbos are business minded people who don't like getting involved in territorial issues and that's what is giving you ijaws the guts in trying to encroach into our territories.

You can do that rubbish with fellow minorities and intimidate them into submission but you can't try that with Igbos, we are talking about 40 million strong nation here. We have what it takes to crush you people if you try to dare us. What you've been doing all these years is to hide behind our adversaries to attack us whenever we are facing bigger enemies. Let's assume we are not contending with adversaries/competitors like Hausa/Fulani and Yoruba, and we turn around to focus on you guys, can you survive it?
Stop this chest beating!
Nobody respects Igbos, you are insignificant. If you were as important as you claim, other ethnicities would be jostling to identify with you and not the other way round.Groups will rummage through history and books to connect themselves to you.

I'll reiterate, you overrate yourselves. The more you do these nonsense online and about, the more your stock drops.

You just want to be unfortunate, where is the chest beating in what I wrote?

Of course, the CV of a great achiever will always appear like bragging to an olodo.

You ijaws have never been mates with Igbos in anything since recorded history.

Before the British arrived Nigeria, it was even recorded that you guys had to rely on iron/metal products from Igboland or abroad because you have no knowledge of how to produce it!

Can you name a single area of life you can compete with Igbos?

Why should I organize seminars in Opobo or Ubani/Bonny when they always come to Aba for cultural and traditional relationship. Aba already serves as the headquarters of all Ndoki activities so I would simply go there if I want to have discussions with them.

You don yearn opata full everywhere, still dey cry on top.

I keep presenting facts to you while you argue with myths and legends garnished with a cocktail of lies grin

I grew up around these areas, Aba and P.H axis with Opobo situated in-between used to be my base. Former assistant coach of Enyimba fc, King-Jo was married to an Opobo woman and we all used to be close. Opobo people has been celebrating their Nwaotam masquerade festival in Aba since anyone can remember. Ask anyone around Ogbor-hill, Pepple's road and East about Opobo and they will inform you because most of them have been living there since many generations! Aba as a city partly falls within the Ndoki region that extends from Ugwunagbo to Ukwa, down to Opobo and terminates at Bonny! That is why these areas have been engaging in cultural exchange and interrelationships! Recently, Bonny Ndoki aborigines created a new masquerade called Agu n'madu and they introduced it to their Opobo brothers and eventually, Opobo aborigines will celebrate it in Aba in a grand occasion that would be withnessed by all Igbos! Are you now seeing the pattern?

You as an ijaw man from Bayelsa, do you know what Agu n'madu means without asking any Igbo person or checking on Google?

Below are more screenshots about already known facts but you can still regurgitate your nonsense.
did you just say myth and legends?
have you seen how you shift goal post? you were the one who said I know nothing about Bonny opobo and went on to lie that the houses that followed Jaja were Igbo people and I cramped that lie by telling you details about the movement.
you also said Opobo had no one there but I told you how it was formerly Idonkontoro and it was infact the Brits who permitted him to stay there that was why he was known as treaty king. I cleared you about the enculturation and how you claim Bonny is Igbo yet okwarazurumba mbanaso was renamed into an ibani-ijaw name Jubo jubogha ( that is because the Masters were ibani-ijaw)
you denied your Language and roots by saying town meant ama instead of OBODO and I caught the stupid lies.
you also said igbos owned Opobo but I cleared you that after Jaja's death regents and the perekule council of chiefs chairmen ruled Opubo-ama,(you didn't even know Opobo is Opubo-ama; renamed after Jaja's foster dad Amayanabo Opubo hano pepple NOT EZE)
now you're shifting goal post to tell me your uncle abi father married Opobo woman. did the Opobo woman say she is Igbo
have you seen how you're dancing away from the borne of contention like a drunk dragon fly?
okolo'ma means curlew fly
does fly mean ma in igbo??
Ama means town in ijaw,
doesn't obodo mean town in Igbo

the the Europeans say okolo-obodo?
you call curlew uguloma abi nnu'nu
but the founders of Bonny call it okolo
in my Nembe DIALECT we call it okolain

stick to the borne of contention and stop telling me about masquarade.
ekpe masquerade is played in Calabari, does that mean the Calabari people are owned by akwa-ibom people??
grow a brain!

Igbo people were their masquarade on the face, ijaws carry on the head, but it is only in Bonny and Opobo igbos want to now carry masquarade on the head. bumkom!

ask your Opobo aunty, did she tell you she's Igbo?
I gave you real history and cleared your lies, you began telling me of your stupid family marriage.
I go box your head o.
even the Ndoki people tell us their name is aminadokiari as we all know it, they've even joined all ijaw socio cultural forum.
I have an ndoki inlaw whom told me they are ijaws and I wrote a thread about it last year.
Opobo is Opubo-ama, and they together with Bonny use AMAYANABO and ALABO's not Eze and ichie.

The problem with you is that you will write an epistle that is neither here nor there. When you throw everything into the mix, you muddle up everywhere without passing any message accross.

However, from the few I can glean, you mentioned ekpe masquerade as played in Kalabari, and asked whether Kalabari is now owned by Akwa Ibom people. By asking that question, it shows you don't even know the history of Kalabari. Those areas used to be Ibibiod lands before you guys displaced them and took over and that's why some of their culture survived! It's the same landgrabbing attempts you're now making but unfortunately, you won't succeed this time around.

The Opobos that live in Aba mostly claim to be Igbos and they speak the language just like every other Igbo!

I have shown you articles stating unambiguously that Opobo was uninhabited when Jaja established his kingdom there yet you keep regurtitating myths and legends.

Ama means a habitat or compound in Igbo. That is why you hear villages like Ama-Ka-Ohia which translates to a compound/habitat is greater or more important than bush/jungle.

Okolo is a variety of bird called Curlew in English while the generic name for all birds is nnunu in Igbo! Okolo-ama therefore means Curlew habitat!

Whatever name or alias Jaja took doesn't mean anything, it was his choice and if otherwise, when he founded Opobo, he was already the most powerful and richest ruler in the Niger Delta and would have changed the name back!

Stop clutching at straws please!!

ol.
I like the fact we are now narrowing down to Opubo-ama.
use your head, in the year 1870 do you think it is possible for there to be a virgin land as large as Opobo in the midst of the many clans?
every empty bush in the delta had people disvirgining them even before the 1400s.
There are questions you should ask yourself,
*why was Jaja called a treaty king?

following the Bonny civil war and Jaja's defeat, he went and settled in Idonkontoro, Bonny people wanted to chase him, but he seeked the,, protection of the British crown who told Bonny rulers to let him stay there. and he renamed Idonkontoro to Opubo-ama.
Stop capping lies. Opobo wasn't a virgin land, he met people there but due to wealth, influence, the war canoe houses that came with him and British order he brought his rule there and renamed Idonkontoro.
it's a pity history isn't taught, and please stop saying lies that Jaja "chose a name or alias" lol, he had no option as a slave bought by Alabo iganipughuma Allison (an indigenous ibani-ijaw) and he was renamed Jubo jubogha by that chief(Alabo)
iganipughuma Allison later sold him to Alabo Alali who was the Alabo Incharge of the Opubo Manila pepple house, and you're calling it myth.
sorry for yourself.
you don't even know a thing about the area you are claiming.
my next reply to you will be the names of the fourteen houses that came with Jubo jubogha to Idonkontoro let me see if you will be bold to call them Igbo houses.

continue canceling facts, na your Destiny you dey cancel so.

do you even know the meaning of enculturation? (in ancient times)
shedrach meshac and Abednego were hananiah azariah and Azazel.

it is an age long practice done mostly on captives of war or slaves bought and owned.
even the Brits did it; renaming slaves brought into the Americas all over again.
you'll see names like Kunta-Kinte renamed to Toby
Nneka renamed to Ahneeka, jiugba renamed to juba.
enculturation in ancient Africa meant denouncing your old self before gods and men and that was what okwarazurumba mbanaso did when he was renamed Jubo jubogha, and when he became a free man, he remained in the delta, took indigenous wives, learned the language when he could have EASILY returned to Amaigbo.

SECONDLY
THE 14 HOUSES THAT CAME WITH JAJA were never Igbo houses. Bonny had 21 houses, and out of the 21, 14 came with him, out of the 14; 2 were directly his, the other 12 were indigenous OKOLOMA houses.

THIRDLY
Opobo(OPUBO-AMA) founded in 1870 was never a virgin land. you are daft I swear. it was formerly a Bonny military Outpost formerly known, owned and called Idonkontoro by the Andoni's whom the Bonny people fought and took it from them in 1442. Jaja had to write to the British crown who informed the Okoloma people to let him stay there, so do not stay in your house at abakiliki and say what you don't know. I am 101% sure you haven't been to Port Harcourt in your entire life not to even talk of entering the Niger delta. you don't know all this things above and you say I am ignorant of Bonny and Opobo history. itibolibo!
do you even know after the death of Jaja, a long line of regents from Bonny including the perekule council of chiefs ruled Opubo-ama?
right you don't know.

FOUTHLY
did you just say OKOLO-AMA means curlew town in Igbo
blood of Jesus you are a dangerous liar! and you will burn in hell!
you are even denying your Language for cheap nairaland lies.
I am very fluent in Igbo, and I've lived, schooled, worked around Igbo land for over 10years.
TOWN IN IGBO IS OBODO!
bloody liar!
you will burn in hell for lieng!
and for denying your Language, your ancestors will deny you.
get out from here!

Load of bullshit.

1) Ama means town In Igbo Language. e.g Amaigbo, Amaifeke, Amandugba E.t.c

2) A curlew bird is called ugoloma in Igbo and besides okolo means roosting in Ijaw language and not curlew bird.

3) it is opobo and not "opuba-Ama" jagba jantis.

3) The original name of jaja of opobo is jugbo jugbo fem and not jubo juboga

Alabo- aka mumu-ribo

Opobo is opobo and was never called Opuba-ama. opubo - Ama only exist in the average brain of a low Iq Ijaw Irritants, wallowing in.abject poverty in bayelsa state.

Lol dumb ass, Okolo means roosting in your Language not mine. A curlew is called Ugoloma in Igbo Language..confused bat.

And again how could my Ancestors with rich cultural heritage borrow words from Ijaw Low Iq Neadarthals that has no historical relevance and rich culture who solely existence rest on the shoulders of my ancestors to survive. cultural thieves.

Ama is an Igbo-word borrowed by the uncivilised ijo creek rats. u better deal with.

Ama towna in Igbo land

Isu-Ama
Ama-Igbo
Ama-ife
Ama-nfuru
Ama-asaa
Amapu-Ntigha
Ama-ise

U could have also disputed jaja of opobo's name Zombified aminadokaria Idiot!

I won't mind everything you said, but did you just say curlew meant uguloma in Igbo? yes right.

now go and read what the Europeans said about curlew and what it is called in the indigenous OKOLOMA dialect.
curlew is called OKOLO
but for Igbo, it is called uguloma

now have you seen how you shot yourself in the leg by exposing your dirty stupid drug ritualistic hungry mkpuru'mmiri dilapidated rottened lieng brain and gutter mouth.

Load of rubbish!

You can say whatever nonsense you like after drinking ogogoro but it can't change hard facts on ground. ijaws will never achieve 1% of what Igbos have already achieved till the end of time!

Now consider these facts below:
1. Igbos have produced the Commonwealth secretary general.
2. Igbo Amazon is currently the president of IMF, first black, African and woman to do so in history!
3. Igbo man is currently leading International criminal court, ICJ.
4. The most prosperous indigenous car marker to emerge from Africa is an Igbo brand, Innoson!
5. One of the most successful gospel artist in the world, and the best from Africa is an Igbo lady, Sinach!
6. One of the most popular song in world, and by far the most popular to come from Africa is Love Nwantiti by an Igbo musician called Ckay.
7. Nollywood is the 3rd most prolific movie industry in the world, behind America's Hollywood and India's Bollywood, and Igbos are the major players in it.
8. Africa's most celebrated writer, Chinua Achebe is Igbo and lots of others in contemporary times like Chimamanda are also Igbos.
9. In sports: Super Eagles and Super Falcons, as well as the cadet teams are overwhelmingly dominated by Igbos! Same goes for our basket ball teams both male and females that are currently dominating Africa!
10. In commerce, Igbos not only dominate in Nigeria but the entire West coast and parts of SSA.
11. In industry, aside Dangote, Igbos dominate indigenous manufacturing.
12. Most of the consumer goods used in Nigeria such as shoes, bags, cloths etc. are produced in Aba, an Igbo city.
13. In transportation, aside haulage that is dominated by Hausas, the rest such as air transportation and road are dominated by Igbos.
14. In education, Igbos are the most successful in Nigeria.
15. Even in politics you're making noise, Igbos aren't doing badly.

When Azikiwe was the president of Nigeria, ijaws were still in their diapers. When Alex Ekwueme was the Vice president, where were the Ijaws? When Michael Okpara, Akanu Ibiam and Odimegwu Ojukwu were ruling the East, including the entire ijawland, where were ijaws?

Because an accidental president like Jonathan who emerged 100% based on luck, you think you're now mates with Igbos? If a fearless Igbo woman, the late Dora Akunyili did not move the motion for implementation of doctrine of necessity, would timid Jonathan ever have the courage to become president?

An inconsequential minority wants to challenge those that are far above and beyond them! Currently, there are 7 Igbo speaking governors in Nigeria today, is there any other ethnic group that has up to that except maybe Fulanis? You ijaws can only produce the governor of the smallest state in Nigeria, the 8 local government Bayelsa cheesy cheesy

Even in Delta, you're begging the governor, an Igbo man to handover to ijaws but it would never happen because Urhobos and Itshekiri would never allow it since they know how dangerous it is to allow an ijaw man rule Delta. Even an isoko man has a higher chance of becoming governor there than ijaws. You claim to be indigenous to Ondo, Edo, Rivers, Akwa Ibom etc. Can ijaws become governors there? Same way you're begging in Delta is how you're begging in Rivers yet nothing!

Even the oil that is found in your villages, it is the big boys like Fulanis, Igbos and Yorubas that run the show! These ethnic groups don't just own the oil blocks, they also dominate the staff and management of NNPC and the IOC's while ijaws are employed to work as gatemen and pipeline guards grin grin Now who are the slaves and who are the masters grin grin

After stating all these irrefutable facts here, another inferiority complex dude will say it's chest beating.

I repeat, ijaws are never our mates in anything! Una too small and never reach abeg.

Alabo7978:

continue canceling facts, na your Destiny you dey cancel so.

do you even know the meaning of enculturation?

Watching two nigerian tribes claim superiority is like watching watching two people with down syndrome and each trying to claim they are the smarter one.

Since both Opobo and Bonny share a great deal of igbo and ijaw heritage why cant the people of both towns be allowed to celebrate their hybrid culture and origin. How fair is it for them to completely throw away one...Why try to rewrite their history just so you can say they are ijaws when we all know its not. They can be both Ijaw and igbo and be loved by others, just like the swiss are french and german...Why create an enemy out of igbo people by trying to erase the igbo history of the place.

And to correct you, an igbo friend of mine years ago told me Ama means city centre in igbo language.

I had a short relationship with a Bonny girl two years ago, and when I asked her about what her opinion of what she was is, she said Look Im a rivers girl, and when I said but rivers is not a tribe, she said, I have heard some people say that Bonny is ijaw, but I am from Bonny, not finima or others, calling me Ijaw is not correct, if you dont want to call me a Rivers woman, then call me a Bonny woman. So you see, she didnt accept that she was Ijaw, but she didnt say she was igbo either. I swear on the life of my children that the above bolded sentence is truly what happened. I have also met an Opobo pastor who tried to explain that his people are ndoki people and ndoki are not really igbos and when asked if he was ijaw, he said NO. But he runs an igbo church with only igbo/ikwerre congregation, giving visions in igbo language etc

At OP, why not state your facts without insulting an entire tribe of people, and I can tell you that not all ijaws agree or want a confrontation with igbo people over territorial issues, actually most ijaw people dont want that.

Wailings of Alabo-aka mumuribo.

confused Imp So it no longer okolo-Ama? All of a sudden the "Ma" Prefix In the okolo now means fly and no Longer Ama as u earlier indicated and placed more Emphasis on...

From all Earlier documentation of Bonny history, was pointing to the original founders of Bonny to Come from Ngwa/Ndoki Land; which In their dialect a curlew is called "Ugoloma."

Like i always say okolo means Roosting in Ijaw vernacular and not curlew, so what is the word for curlew in Ijaw?

Jaja's name remains jugbo jugbo fem. we have an overwhelming prove for that...

U lost out bro!
