UK 4K monthly is > than 1.5 M in naira. Let us first start from the exchange rates. 580 official rate for GBP vs Naira. So 4,000 x 580 that's approx. 2.3 M equivalent in Naira.
UK has better Job securities and values skills more which would put you at an advantage at long run.
You said 4K after tax deductions that means you have 4k pounds to yourself which has a large margin. In UK foods are as low as 1 pounds, pence depending on what you want.
Though, it depends on your location, high profile areas when it comes to accommodation pay monthly(they all do besides), can pay as high as 2k pounds monthly but you can get very decent places from 800-1500 pounds monthly.
Low areas are as cheap as 500 pounds (single room).
You don't need to get mattress, bed, TV you just pack in your clothes and food in there.
There is no place like home, certain job advantages, social life you enjoy in Nigeria, you can't try it over in UK.
So much to compare though. Go to UK it boost your travel/immigration records.

Everybody don already tire for this country including myself, but for this matter wey dey ground so, i go still choose Nigeria over the UK because of the high tax over there, traveling abroad is only beneficial to hustlers and not professionals unless you are real professional like doctors and nurses

Electricity would be more than 50 quid except you want to be living in the dark all the time.

If you expect the individual to cut down on his balling, then it agrees with the principle that he would get less for more.

[s][/s] Shut the fvck up. Nigerians don't pay taxes ,but over here, we do that all day ,every fvcking day, and you know why ? Because the system is built to keep the rich in check while the poor remain average. And that's something that eats very deep into your savings and earning potential , especially if you're a middle-income earner .

But besides all this , when was the last time you took into account things like electricity bills, community tax and other services that are paid in the UK ? Have you thought about that on 4k pounds ? Please do that before sending me more ludicrous statements
The fact that you even had to insult that guy for making a valid point, makes one wonder how some people even reason.

So you're saying people in Nigeria dont pay bills? What sort of ignorance is this? Do you know how much it cost to fuel a diesel generator for 12 hours a day? Do you even have a clue how much a unit of electricity cost in Nigeria today? Do you know that in Nigeria you literally pay for your own security and pay to fix the roads leading to your gate? No comfortable person in Nigeria risks going to govt hospitals when sick; do you have a clue how much it cost to be treated in a decent private hospital in Nigeria?

For someone thats just doing it for japa sake, no job offer or anythiing just won escape poverty, should be the one to consider bills and savings over there but

As for you going on job bases with 4k pounds monthly, man don't seek any other advice or opinion, infact by now you should already have carried your luggages and on the way to airport sef..

You are lucky man, just know millions of nigerians now hoping and praying for your kind opportunity so dont waste it at all

As someone who lives abroad (not UK) , I'll say £4k monthly isn't a lot but not bad if you will live within your means. There are definitely bills to pay such as ( rent, insurance, energy(electricity), phone bills etc.). Like someone mentioned, you might not be able to live a "big boy" life like you will do in Nigeria but the truth is it gets better each day as you unravel opportunities. Living abroad comes with lots of benefits that you might not enjoy in Nigeria (few examples are, less/no fear of insecurity, good roads, constant electricity, clean water, great health care, quality education if you have kids( I know UK has one of the best education systems) and many more).

This one d include Netflix for expenses. You sound like an extravagant person, no offense lipsrsealed

The idea is to compare a guy earning 1.5 million Naira a month with one earning 4k pounds.

If the 4 k pounds guy has to avoid Netflix, then he's definitely worse off than the Naira earner.

OP this bro has said pretty much everything. There's value in travelling tho. Take this first offer as the stepping stone. I believe (strongly) that subsequent ones will be lucrative because of the UK work experience this new offer would have given you and it will be easier to access better opportunities.
Ammishaddai:
Bros 4k pounds doesn't sound like much over there(especially if you're into programming). And when you look at future expenses , you might not really be able to say afloat (especially with a family and all). So I'll advice if you ask for a remote opportunity with the company, since it's obvious you're intrested in increasing your financial power

The first reaction of a lot of people will be for you to just go. First of all, accommodation is expensive, then other bills, even worse if you have a family. My opinion is if you could get this then you're good enough to get a better one. 1.5M in Nigeria will do more for you than 4K pounds in the Uk.
A lot of Nigerians are misinformed or clouded by situations that they feel relocating means their lives have changed.
If you decide to go, it should come from a place of strategy that is if it will help your career and not just for survival.

Where do you easily find 10million naira monthly. You just want to make sure you win.

Oga, stay in naija na. Who dey force you? By the time Boko Haram removes you...you will know. Bandits are around too. I cant even talk further. Stay in naija if you want. You never get 200k job, you are talking of 10million naija in naija. Just to keep debating.

No matter the amount you get today, if you are into Tech....move. no one will ever dispute that. You arent into Tech. So, stop arguing blindly. You are into something which you know is not meaningful as soon as you leave naija. If you get 10 million naira monthly in naija which I dont doubt, you know you are into fraud or corruption. So, stop your rubbish thing.

We are talking about ppl who are legit, not you corrupt govt officials.

Hello, can you please stop with the scaremongering. I think it's quite distasteful at this point. We all have families in Nigeria & they are not kidnapped or raped yet, we have lived in Nigeria all our lives and not died yet. People go back home in December & still spend time with their families. Container hasn't fallen on anyone I know personally, even though It happens quite often.

Nobody is discouraging anyone from travelling, people should take that personal decison by themselves based on what they want in life.

1.5M in Nigeria is a lot of money, especially if you aren't living in Lagos. People are getting jobs in Nigeria amidst the unempoyment problems, so not every one is jobless and cannot get a 200k job.

Nobody I know has encountered Boko Haram, my family lives in the South & it is peaceful.
