When there are difficult decisions to be taken involving war particularly against a mighty adversary, where the resources of the nation are required it takes more than just the will of leadership to mobilize military resources.
In democracies the people through their legislature will require legal commitments before their sacrifice for a lot of reasons.

So, to fight Russia is not a small thing. It will take the entire nation of the United States to do that so the authority to do that must be cast in stone. The US will not go to war with another superpower just for the sake of it or to embellish egos. But it will do so if it has as a nation PROMISED TO PROTECT another as a NATIONAL AGREEMENT.

This it has done for much of Europe under NATO.
This it has not done for Ukraine.
Biden has no obligation to protect Ukraine with the might and the resources of the United States and for such a situation and against such an adversary Congress is unlikely to give him permission to trigger any agreement because there isn't any.

If it had there will have been American men, means and machines stationed in the Ukraine immediately such an agreement was signed.
You do not defend an agreement after the fact. America has combat troops in every NATO country whether they are threatened or not, same with every ally it has agreements of protection with such as Japan and South Korea in Asia."

I don’t believe anyone with a functional brain believes Trump would have sent American troops to fight Putin.

Some people are saying Biden is weak, America is weak. What’s the point putting your mouth in wetin no concern you? There’s absolutely no point going head on with a country that almost measures in strength as you, it’ll be catastrophic for both parties. At the end the civilians will bear the brunt. Better to avoid silly wars than cause havoc to millions of lives.
