I joined the the community Precisely on Feb 26, 2021, weeks after my Last Relapsed, and that was how I discovered what I personally needed to quit my irresistible and recalcitrant circle of constant guilt and feeling of worthlessness for 28 Yrs.
I never realize the name of what i was doing at the time I was caught in the habit, say between 1992 to '94. I was in JSS 2/3 at the time. The name of the act became obvious after reading the book: "Question! Young People ask", published by the Watchtower. While I read much of their publications and associated with them, I made little or no progress due to feeling of shame which breeds reclusiveness. And that's where the eternal grip of Masturbation and Porn lies

CONSEQURNCES
1) ACADEMIC: i was adjudged smart and intellegent while growing up but I lost it while being engrossed with the practice of masturbation . Hence, I Lacked a retentive memory or what some describe as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). This made me read a material several times to know It, and there has never been more time. Several F9 and passes in my O/L until after 3 yrs of my graduation did I make 5 Credit Passes. Then came UME for at least 5 times as i can recall before gaining admission into a prestigious Nig. University at age 28. But it was a worthwhile course anyway (before u pitty me too much). I narrowly escaped being withdrawn from Pharmacy Sch twice. But in between those years of SSCE and UTME, I had resorted to a Higher college Certificate anyway.

2) LACK OF MOTIVATION TO IMPROVE & COMPETE: This resulted from the frequent and unavoidable feeling of guilt that engulfed and immobilized me.
3) SPIRITUALLITY: While my association with The JW and her activities was a of help, I remained stagnated spiritually and operated below my pears and presumed capability largely due to the secret nature of MASTURBATION and Pornography. I was off and on, with loved ones wondering what was holding me from doing better.
5) WORK HABIT AND ATTITUDE TOWARDS WORK. You will regret working with me or employing me because i procrastinated and exuded unseriousness all my life this 28 years of MASTURBATION such that little or nothing gets done on time. Hence, I really took up or was given privilleges.
6) PUNCTUALITY: Nothing come out.
7) MARRIAGE: I realized a bigger problem inherent in me. I was not decisive which was borne from my repeated relapses to porn and Masturbation. I was abdicating my responsibility to my spouse or neglecting such without realising it. Pornography- induced- sexual dysfunction had set in and my marriage was at the brink of collapse. But I would not let it. It was at this period, following deep thought of what my Whole life was becoming, that I stumbled on the Thread and took it seriously, made significant progress with immense Benefits which are better experienced than said.
However, I am still recovery from the nearly 3 decades of consequences and loses accrued to me as a result of this habit. My Mental, Emotional, Spiritual, Physical and academic recovery has been gradual and steady. Yet a day away from Pornography and Masturbation is worth my limited Life span.

Its 366 days today and I thank God for the deliverance he made possible via this thread.
To be frank, it was not a prayer thing but much of determination. However, the ultimate goal is to bring glory to God.
My gratitude to fellow victors, especially are the married men in the house who are doing equally well.

What has been your mental benefit so far?
