Good day all,

Please I'd like to confirm two things:

1. Amidst the state of emergency in Ukraine, is the Embassy in Nigeria still issuing student visas?
2. If No to the first question, Please how can I go about passport retrieval?

One of the reasons I considered Ukraine for study was affordability while having competitive ranking in the world. But It seems part payment in the UK would have to do.

Thank you.

oo360z:
My application is already with them and its been there for two weeks. If the Cancellation process takes longer than the issuance process, what would have been the fastest way to get your passport sir? It was a very valid question in my opinion. Just because we see information differently does not mean my point of view is bland.

Jamestown123:
All this long epistle just to prove ukraine has something to offer. You and I knows that 99% of Nigerians leaving Nigeria to ukraine has no other means of generating money for themselves in ukraine. Great expectations brings great frustrations. Why won't they use fake documents when people like you keep giving wrong advice. Keep making it seems like it's really easy there, many of them will end up borrowing money to ukraine to look for a way.

This post is not applicable to the present situation on ground. Do not go to Ukraine now for anything.

Your desperation to leave Nigeria is what prompted you to mention borrowing money. I said get your money and pay there. It's just $2,000 to $3,000 per year for tuition there yearly. And accommodation is free. How many students work in Nigeria? Parents pay such here. So, many can pay for it.

Also many couldn't enter US or Canada but decided to move first to Hungary. From there, they shifted to the US. They didn't work also there. The point is that it is a stepping stone for those who can afford it. They have a better life there. Better access to everything.

You haven't left Nigeria and you are shouting. Listen, Russia is my 3rd home. Wetin you know. Many Nigerians are doing well in Russia. The secret is, finish your school there, and move.

Let me educate you with figures. In those days, language schools are $1,000 to $1,500 for 1 year. And accommodation of $10 to $50 monthly for students. With $100, you will eat better food. Go to a huge grocery store brand called Ashan in Moscow and pack good affordable food. Light is stable...keep all in the fridge and that it. The little work you can do, do it. That's for enjoying life. That's for buying designer clothing at times. That's for taking pictures on Instagram to show off. Lol. You no get it. Na person wey don live there can educate you. You never pass Naija.

Then, you move to year 1...just a max of $2000 for a year. These are Moscow and St. Peterburg prices. Other cities are cheap. And as soon as you learn the language And you can move out if you are smart, English language jobs are there. Many people even returned to Naija to get a formal work permit from those schools. What do you know? Personally, while I was there, I met a Yoruba boy who worked in British Petroleum Moscow. The guy enjoyed life...a beg. Life dey Moscow. Go ask anyone who sabi groove and has lived there. They just want to return there. Ask well. Though, the guy was transferred from the UK. Also, some Africans I met in Total (French oil coy), and even some in Gazprom. There are extremely wealthy Nigerians there if you don't know. Wetin you sabi? Even, students work in clubs too. If I tell you what I achieved there, you won't believe it...let's leave it. And if you want to know, many Americans I know there are finding their way to Estonia cos it is becoming harsh there. So, it is why my mind is towards that place too. What do you know? It's all cos of the recent wahala with the US. It's why I have not attempted to visit too.

So, add up the tuition fee above, and tell me if it is not achievable. So, you wan go to school...you don't have the money...why do you have to go? Which bad advice is there. So, you expect me to advise them to go to a country they can abandon school. Even you try to justify using fake documents. You are a bad influence. You are evil.

Right now, I do not know the recent price of schools there, but still cheap. Ok. There is a recognized American university which is set up in Moscow. Now, MBA in the US is $35,000 in that school, but you get to Moscow, it is just $7,500. Look at the difference. And this time that MBA has been moved to zoom, the same standard in the US is used in Moscow and you get the same cert. You can decide to finish in the US if you want. All I am saying is that opportunities are enormous there.

If I tell you that some students make over $20,000 per annum while hustling would you believe it? Oh yeah. But not for everyone. It's for those who can speak the speak well and are very smart. Mayne just 0.05% of them there. But the issue is that the opportunities are still there. Do you know the number of boys who are married to Russians? Go sit down and speak no more. You never commit Naija you dey talk. Wetin you sabi?

I am happy the UK, Canada, and Australia have all got the formula to prevent people like you. If you want to travel, get your cash and move. Add up the cash for Ukraine and Russia, it is not up to 1 year of US or UK tuition. Very cheap. And you get to still hustle a bit during hols.

If you do not have the brain to get a scholarship in the US and your parents can't afford it why go? Na your kind put us in this mess.

You wan go out of Naija with a student visa but you don't want to attend school. Try am with the UK now....you go collect am. Very irritating people. To go spoil our names is what they want. So you want me to advise you to go to where you can japa from school. You no serious at all.

They can generate money there that is enough for a student who has school fees to pay to still help themselves. Year 1 is tough cos they are still not used to the place. The language is a stumbling block in year one. But you want to get there to start hustling the first day. You go collect am. Try it.

Sunday Adelaja is a champ in Kiev. He survived there as a student sir. There are many like him. Every year Nigeria sends scholarship students to Russia. But he planned his life before moving there.

Illiteracy is a disease. You need to learn.

Best Way to survive in Russia/Ukraine
1. Go to a language school in the first year. Forget about hustling. Get cash for school and stay in school accommodation. And manage yourself for 1 year.

2. Year 2, try not to put your mind in working too. Go to school. Start your real degree. But start looking for something as soon as you start getting comfortable with the language. Some don't pick up until after 3 years.

3. As soon as you have settled down. Try many places. Clubs, show biz places...if you are huge...you will easily get a job as a bouncer. Also, if you are smart, you should enter language programs. But right now, it's hard.

4. Now, the game has changed. You can even easily get a job. Enter content writing jobs. There are many companies in CIS looking for English writers. Enter the thing and start making cash.

5. That is it.

The issue is that....forget about a job the first year if it's not an online English job.

Please, do not go there if you do not have money for your tuition and living expenses. Stay away if you aren't interested in studying. Stay in the extremely cheap school accommodation. You can pay $50 to school per month, but you will pay close to $1,000 per month if you want to live alone outside or you start living with other people and share the monthly rent which is still expensive. So, go to school. Go and read. That's the way to survive in Ukraine. Mainly for students. After, cross to the US, UK, or AustrMaster'sor Master degree or Ph.D.

God bless.

But can someone go to Switzerland or Italy with the 14 days visa. Because my brother has crossed to Poland and my family in Switzerland and Italy are telling him to get a train ticket that will enable him to come over. Please is it possible.

Congratulation sir. You will live long. God that saved you has a special plan for you. You just need to follow the protocols there.

I heard Poland said foreigners can't stay longer than 14 days there. Not quite sure if this is true. But if true, better contact your people at home and fly from Warsaw to Lagos or Abuja. That you came out of the place alive is worth praising God. [/quote]

If you have been given a fourteen days visa DO NOT TRY TO RUN AWAY WITH IT. staying ILLEGAL in Europe is not advisable, you will not be able to live or seek asylum. You are also causing troubles for other Nigerian citizens stranded in Ukraine trying to make it to the border. The visa is for you to come back to your country, even In war people are desperately trying to abuse their visas. Your names are registered under that visa and you will never be able to return to the EU if you overstay.

Welcome to the EU and do not abuse the visas

Only your brother can know if it's a schengen visa awarded him there, or just an entry to Poland. I am in Niaja and I heard it over the grape vine.

The questions are: even with 14 days, will she be able to extent her visa in Switzerland? Really I can't answer the question..

No she will not be able to, that’s a 14day emergency visit visas she will not be able to extend in any EU country nor will she be able to renew. If she over stays she will be banned from the EU. The EU is not Ukraine, let her know her options properly before she decides. She’s very much welcome to come back to Nigeria and transfer to any EU university including Poland. As any visa status change must be done from home country and not in the EU.

I used to be angry with Nigerians abroad. I would shout at the struggling ones..." return home". But the day God opened my eyes, I stopped it. And it is unfortunate, we will keep becoming more nuisance to the outside world. We will be like the Chinese of those days that wanted to run away and the present Indians.

I have written about it...our population is exploding. Nothing is in Nigeria again. There is no job and our people are still giving birth to kids like pigs and rabbits. Poland is just about 37million population while Nigeria is already over 200 million. Look at the gap. And Nigeria is just 3 times bigger. Poland is not that rich too. Imagine our population is cut into 4, people won't be running out like this.

That Switzerland, it may interest you that Nigeria has a better GDP. But when we are too many,...hmmm. What one person should have, 50 are sharing in Nigeria. These nations will not allow us in. It is normal they allow Ukrainians to remain there....but I doubt they will allow Africans to stay. They do not want overpopulation And then those coming in are refugees. Not good for them at all. They know if they allow Nigerians to stay, you will go and start giving births like pigs there...but first, you will start with being stupidly smart by trying to cut corners while making money.

Please, we are the only ones who can educate ourselves. No president can make Nigeria prosperous with this way of our life. We keep giving birth like rabbits. Our GDP is not bad for goodness sake. It's why they say there is money in Nigeria. It can not circulate because we are too many. So, some few people will lay hold of it.

Nigeria cannot get better. It will keep getting worse. The figures are there. So, it is normal for anyone there to want to not return cos nothing is happening at home. But it is the best option to return home. I am encouraging everyone there to return home. Poland will be strict. Poland is just getting out of poverty gradually. She is trying to join NATO too so that there will be more prosperity in the land. Poland cannot afford to take in African refugees.

I have been recommending 1 child per woman every 10 years. This is the way out. The tension will reduce in the first 10 years if we start. And then, the population will normalize itself. Also, inflation will stop increasing. Nothing anyone can do...with this rate inflation will keep going up. This is the truth Ngozi Iweala was telling us but we refused to listen. Then APC came in with lies. They saw it and relaxed. It was the reason Buhari just went all out to "borrow and borrow and borrow" just to set up facilities and his name will not be erased in history. Nothing anyone can do with the present situation we are in.

Now imagine every Nigerian outside without papers returns. Hahahahha. Maybe we will be 250 to 300 million. Who knows?

Let us deal with the foundational problem. Believe me...our GDP is not bad. Economically, we aren't doing badly. Sex and food issues are our problems. Even NL will soon start moving sex, my boyfriend and girlfriend threads as soon as it's noon tomorrow to the front page. And then add snake threads where they are roasting them for gluttons to hail them. Food and sex are killing us.

Please ma, take it easy. A beg. The man who posted that is not there. Same as you and I. If it is true people are moving to Germany, please, let your brother move too....fast. Germany may have a better option for them. We will need to start telling our people to move. As for me, if they have better options rather than returning home, they should take it. Madam, that seems to be an entry to Poland. But as long as it is legal, let your brother mix up fast with other Africans and Nigeria to know the best options. If the info about Germany is right, let him move fast to Germany. The offer may not last for too long. Germany may close up anytime. Please tell him to be very sure. A nation like Germany has the capacity to absorb them and even settle them down on humanitarian grounds. It is an answered prayer.

No one is discouraging you. I don’t care if you were given a polish passport. I am telling you, that visa was so your country can evacuate you after you complained being turned at the border. You will not be able to convert to education because the bureaucracy is high for that, also it’s not in the constitution. This is the best advice you will get, because no country will just accept transfers of international students from Ukraine who is not even an EU country into their Unis.

I’ve seen the stamp entry below, that is very useless and is not even a visa. You will not embe able to get a proper visa with that and if you’re unluckily stopped by the police outside Poland will be arrested.

Germany is very much the worse to try overstaying with

You don’t even understand what a refugee status in EU is.

A refugee is someone who their Home country is in trouble. Your home country is not in trouble. The country you’re studying is. There’s nothing stopping you from going back to your home country.

Please think about this properly so you don’t ruin a future and legal chance of coming to the EU.

That's what I was trying to explain to someone....he said we should seek the refuges status.... one have to think this very well before jumping into it...

Nigeria is not in any war at all just that things no dey go well...you can't compare it to Ukraine at the moment....Nigeria is safer than Ukraine at the moment....

If you seek refuges, they would make a decision and we might be in the camp for 6 months to 1year or even longer than 1year without no job, you can't go to school, we would just be in the camp and at the end of the day they might make a decision and decline the refuges status we request for....after wasting 6 month of our lives or 1year..... its better to go back to Nigeria now....just take this 14days given to us as a tourist visa...visit beautiful places in poland, make good use of your time here...

Unfortunately, there’s no way around the situation as you’re not a Ukrainian. Governments over the world have packages for Ukrainians because they are the ones at war and they have the jurisdiction to do so. They do not have the jurisdiction for citizens not from Ukraine.

It’s probably not my business but I responded because the people giving you advice seem to be misinformed. There are a lot of Nigerians here who do not have papers to work and are just roaming all around doing illegal things because their refugee status have been denied and they ran away.

You definitely will not be able to work if you take that route. Very similar to Nigerians going to Russia for the World Cup and trying to find ways to stay back but failed. We don’t want to hear another “German or Polish governor deporting us” claiming victims after we refused to do the right thing.

The advice is valid.

You can’t just stay in EU with a visa for a long time. You cannot work, study and do anything with it. You’ll need to request for a residence permit, and you’ll be refused.

The only way you can live in EU is to seek asylum, they will check your story and send the person back to Nigeria.
