FG should do the needful, to diversifies Nigerian infrastructures, Lagos already have a see port, building another one in badagry is like putting all your eggs in one basket...

project like this should be shifted to other parts of the country where there's an open sea, e.g Delta, Rivers or Akwa Ibom to service other parts of the country

Or else is a way of depriving the South East the comfort of easy shipping?
I believe its being built by the private sector though!

The Lekki and badagary deep seaports are Lagos State government projects but not Federal government. However, let the aforementioned states in that regions follow suit.

This is a state project. Other states too can embark on such projects if they find it necessary.

Nice one! it will make sense to have functional seaports in other coastal cities as well. RIVERS, AKWA IBOM, ANAMBRA ETC.
And Lagos state government should be the one to build them?

i wonder o, these are the people that brought down SW growth out of envy. All they are interested is to limit growth and advancements in SW and make sure every region is on same vicious circle like themselves

way to go. if not for corruption nigeria should be a self sufficient and an exporting country. the money for the seaport in akwa ibom has been swept under the feet but for sure these men will account for their works and finances.

Are you aware the Apapa Port is federal and the Epe port is only an annex to the proposed Badagry deep sea port? The Badagry Port is located strategically to encourage international and cross border trade

Is the first story building still standing?
The well in that compound has the cleanest water I have ever seen.
The storey building is an historical and cultural piece. It is still standing tall. I still take tourists there often. Do you know there are more than 7 historical sites of interest in Badagry?

Why not schedule a tour to Badagry again? Talk to me. I may as well take you to Iya Sulia's àmàlà spot, as an extra. grin

I believe you missed the point. This is not an FG driven project...just like Lekki Deep Sea port, this is a Lagos State driven project with partnership with private sector and FG.

Your retort should be directed at those states you mentioned why can't they embark on projects like this since they also have waters in them. Why have they not attracted investors in this area.

Connect the ports to a dry port in ibadan to aid with transport and export of agricultural commodities.
The Lagos-Ibadan Rail line offers connects to the Tin-Can already. I think the Oyo State Govt. have not been proactive on the Dry-Port project unlike Kaduna State Govt. The size of the land allocated was too small compared to what was requested.... Kaduna gave enough land and already developed road infrastructure leading to the dry port.

Ibadan stands a lot to gain from Lagos in the future. They need a Dry Port badly. When Badagry Deep Sea Port is ready, access to Rail is already available on the Lagos Rail currently going to Okoko. I understand the FG is part of a Trans-West-Africa Rail and Road Project from Okokomaiko Lagos to Abijan where ours terminate at Benin Republic. The Rail can thus connect to Ido from Badagry....and all the way to Kano or Calabar.....
