I am doing a renewal too and I have gone through some pages of this thread to be sure, I show up with all the required documents, but I keep seeing conflicting information.

One post said birth certificate, state of origin and acknowledgement slip. Another post said it wasn't necessary except for fresh passports. Since mine is renewal at the same center where you did yours, you may be the best person to ask, so please help me.

I was at Ikoyi last week for renewal. You will need your NIN slip, make copies of it. 3 passport photographs and your old passport, the biodata page of your old passport. I will advise you make copies from home. You will also need to write a letter to the PCO on an A4 paper, request for a renewal of your passport.

You don't need any of the documents above. I took all with me and it was removed and handed over to me. Even the guarantor's form was returned.

PS: I don't think there's anything like acknowledgement slip again.

For Part Il, I only filled my guarantor's name, nationality, profession and address. I left every other part blank. For Part III, I left the "travel outside Nigeria" part blank and filled every other thing.

Can someone who did the passport renewal at Alausa of recent, say last week confirm how it works there. I heard it's faster at Alausa, compared to Ikoyi. I was given 11th of April for capturing at Ikoyi.

Hi everyone, I would like to know if anyone has recently applied for fresh passport at Lokoja passport office. Is it advisable to do DIY at the place?

You can get it done at their liaison office in Ikeja, Oduduwa crescent. Go along with your passport photos, photocopy of birth certificate ( I can’t remember if this is necessary. Just go along with it) and it cost 2k. There’s no hassle with the whole process, you’ll wait and get it same day.

A 32-page booklet costs ₦25000 + ₦1000 service charge. NIN is a compulsory requirement.

Apply online, select your preferred enrolment date and print out the necessary documents.

Yes. I was given one by the officer for free.

Alternatively, you can buy around too.

Type for example on Google

Imo State Liaison Office in Lagos.

Kano State Liaison Office in Lagos.

Then follow up from there.

Please, on the guarantor form where it says to Commissioner's oath, did you guys go somewhere to get this signed.. like a court?

also is the original NIN necessary or just a photocopy will do?

Print all copies of the documents gotten from the NIS online platform;

Payment slip
Application page
Appointment slip.
Make 2 copies each of the above documents and take along 2 passport photographs.
Photocopy of NIN slip

Handwritten letter on a plain A4 for passport renewal to:
Passport Control Officer,
Nigerian Immigration Service,
Passport Office,
alausa-Ikeja,
Lagos.
Nigeria.

You will also need to fill a handwritten application form when you get there, you have to buy from the business center N300 (a 3 paged form containing details like your online form)

Photocopy of your Old passport data page and inner back page. Go along with the passport also for sighting by the officers.

Finally make sure you get there very early so that your file can be opened and queued in time for capturing.

Hi everyone. How do i rectify a mistake on my NIN? There is a mistake of my middle name. Can it be rectified? Where do i go and can i just visit any NIN registration center to correct it? I'm based in lagos.

Got my Passport yesterday all thanks to the information I gathered on this thread.

It was a passport renewal. I gathered my documents and went to submit them at the festac office. Did capturing the same day - 21st Jan and my passport was ready on the 21st Feb.

The process was seamless and less stressful.

PS: Before you go for submission, please ensure that the required documents are complete, this is because they look for every means to send your back.

I didn't receive any collection mail. I made sure to get the contact of one of the officials and was following up with him.

Please i intend applying for a fresh international passport alongside my kids of 6 and 2.8yrs. I am separated from their father and i will appreciate response to the below pls:

Should i indicate that we are separated in my application or leave it as married since we are not officially divorced?
Can someone who have or recently applied for minor international passport assist with a sample consent letter?

I read somewhere that servicom has a sample letter of application on their board or so. Can you firm if it's something like the one below;

I want to do everything from home before going to their office on my capture date. I don't like the stress of moving up and down with handbag and writing materials. Where will someone even stand or sit to start writing in their overcrowded offices

It's different.

You won't need to move up and down. The SERVICOM is your first stop, and that's where the sample letter is.

You may actually have to move up and down if you give them a diiferent content in the letter.

This is entirely false. This used to be the case in the past, and you will even have to go through the officers (paying heavily) and not the DIY.
