The agent that called just asked me who was sponsoring me and that was all.the call lasted like 1min.
Toceen2022:

I applied and paid my application fee on Jan 18th, after that I got a mail that they'll ask an agent to get in touch with me (as per say applicant from Nigeria) within 10 working days. After about 20 working days one Nigeria agent called, it was even on Sunday morning and said "are you Mr so so, you applied to NSCC" I answered and she said they'll get in touch with me if they need anything. Since then, nothing. I was just wondering, how will they call on Sunday, they didn't even ask for my credentials, transcripts etc.

The truth is if I had known that is their style of application, I won't even bother applying. I sent a mail to them last week asking for what's next, no response till now.

Good morning everyone.

I've a little problem with my grad school application and transcripts and I'd like to ask the house what potentials steps I can take to get out of this conundrum. I studied pharmacy from OAU and my overall CGPA is 4.26. The problem is in the fact that, unlike how CGPA is being calculated in other schools of pharmacy and departments in general, the calculation of CGPA in my faculty differs. The GP of 100L doesn't contribute to your total CGPA and each class/level after 100L takes a particular percentage of your CGPA Viz: 200L (10%), 300L (20%), 400L (30%) and 500L (40%). That is, if you had 4.3, 4.3, 4.3 and 4.5 across all levels, your final CGPA will be 10,20,30 and 40% of these grade points respectively. This made my transcript complicated and I'm scared it'll pose a problem during application to schools as interpretation will be difficult. I'd like to ask what the house thinks the way forward will be as I'm considering doing WES evaluation of my credentials to reduce this complexity. I also plan to send mails to grad school coordinators about the whole thing to ask if there are ways to circumvent the issue.

Secondly, unofficial transcript for my faculty sent from the school does not have credit units and contains just courses, course title, and grade obtained. Since most schools tend to specifically request for last 60 (or so) units of academic work, I sensed the lack of credit unit will make the transcript hard to be used for admission purposes. I'd really appreciate submissions as to way to go about it as I'd like to apply against Fall '23 intake.

Thank you!

Yes, you can. But look for graduate certificate, graduate diploma or post-baccalaureate diploma.

Teephour:
I graduated with 2.2 Bsc Microbiology 2015, presently working with a Life Insurance company as a customer service representative, 2+ years experience in this line.

Please can I apply for a diploma in Business Administration, so that I can later do my MBA.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by technix: 2:09am On Mar 04, 2022
Hi,

I wouldn't advise you to do WES evaluation. It doesn't seem necessary unless a school asks for it.

Of course, you can mail grad school coordinators of your prospective schools.

Your unofficial transcript should work. Many schools will just specify the required overall GPA or GPA for the last two years.

Even those schools that ask for last 60 credits often mean last two years.

Lastly, you can also reach out to those who graduated from your department before you and proceeded to undertake graduate studies outside Nigeria.

Thank you very much! Yes.. Everything I'm doing now is still under strong review as I really don't want to be impulsive about any move. I've been trying to reach people that graduated from my faculty with the same transcript to ask how they went on with grad school application. Also, I got a copy of my faculty handbook (the part that explains how the grading is done) which I'm planning to attach to my cold mails when I start sending them together with other necessary documents. Thanks a lot for your submission. I'll send messages to the graduate coordinators to ask if I can go ahead with the unofficial copy or not.

Yes, then I applied using just my Waec result and I attached a Waec scratched card for verification of result. I was given admission but I didn't proceed with the admission for my study permit.

Jenniangel:

When you applied did you submit any credential??
Have you gotten a decision from them?

Travel gist.

So at the Toronto airport I got my study permit in like 15 mins. The guy asked me for my arrive can, my letter of introduction, my LOA from my school, my proof of payment and also asked me for proof of funds. I provided everything.
He gave me my study permit and gave me a number to call to extend my permit if I want to stay longer.

It was very simple and easy.

If you have any questions you can ask me.

Yes, I used an agent (applyboard) for the admission. But they never claim they'll handle the visa application. They only provide a space to upload the visa approval letter when I've received the visa. Since they serve as an intermediary between applicant and school.
Did they charge you for service rendered?

No, applyboard don't charge for any services, just the application fee. When I applied to Fanshawe it was even free, although I don't know if it'll still be free.
But I paid 100 CAD for Conestoga application fee. That's all.

Its pathetic though, imagine if the gurus ain't giving answers to your questions here and everybody is just here asking questions without giving back, how will this thread look like?

Tcrown2020:
[q What course does he intend to study?

uote author=hayoBams post=110693172]Good evening everyone,

So my son just got denied admission into Seneca college.
Please can anyone suggest any university in Toronto, We've aplled to York university already, but in order not to put all our eggs in one basket again we're looking for other universities option in Toronto.
Or is it possible for the school to still admit him, considering the fact that he chosed three choices?.
And also I mistakenly submitted his application to Humber college without payment, I'm trying to rectify my mistake but it keeps telling me I have submitted an application for this year's session.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by hayoBams: 7:39am On Mar 04, 2022

Please no one should send their school fees to strangers online offering to help with payments. They’re genuine sometimes but other times they’re not and you don’t want to find out with your money.
