I have been reading comments and posts on social media in almost 24 hours about El rufai’s statement about running with Amaechi if the president insisted. Many have interpreted what El rufai said to mean Amaechi is indeed Buhari’s candidate. Last January, the president affirmed he has a candidate who he will keep close to his chest until the appropriate time.

I don’t think El rufai or anyone else for that matter would go ahead of the president to reveal his favourite. It just might be a smoke screen to cause distraction in some quarters. They say politics is deep and dynamic but then I might be wrong.

Shortly after Umahi formal move to Apc, the Nairaland politics section was infested with Umahi/Zulum chant, if I can recall, this very moniker, Bendeco(I don't forget things) was part of the ill informed folks shouting Umahi/Zulum up and down.

Amaechi himself knew he's not getting the ticket that's why man has been silent, nobody is going to force the ticket on you, you have to snatch it, you ibos need to stop the thinking that somebody is going to give you something on the platter of gold, no you have to fight for it, the same Idea that Apc is going to zone the ticket to SE on the platter of Gold(now una eyes don clear)

a new party has been formed by some popular northern elites, I forgot their names.

As far as northern Nigeria is concen, both NW and NE most of the heavyweight governors and Buhari himself are backing Tinubu.

From Ganduje who controls the most important state during election.

Aminu Masari, Bagudu, Zulum, and all are behind Tinubu, only El Rufai is not clear and man doesn't have a choice.
