FalseProphet1:
Pilots calculate the distance they're to cover per miles and estimate the total liters of fuel that would cover it.

Why can't the railway management adopt the same strategy?

Lagos to ibadan shouldn't be more than 350 kilometers (I stand to be corrected) then they'll estimate the quantity of fuel in liters that can cover 350 kilometers and discharge it into the train's tank.

But no, one manager somewhere will pocket the money and buy half the quantity hoping for a miracle to happen that would take the train to it's destination, thereby risking the passengers life when it gets stocked in a remote bush as a result of an empty tank.

I don't see Nigeria surviving as a country come 2023.

This I have seen.
No country as ever prospered either without a great leader or a popular revolt. The Nigerian problems are Nigerian's.

It can happen anywhere...

Even in America
if it happens in America, for sure heads will roll and passengers will be paid huge compensations.
Doesn't the train have fuel gauge?
Did they not know the distance the train will travel and the amount of fuel required?

If we keep doing this, trust me no foreigner will ever dream of investing in our economy not to talk of visiting.

Back home, I used to think that the West is 100% perfect, but no way! I've lived in London for over a year before moving to my current location and trust me, they've got their lapses too! But you can never see her citizens chatting shit online concerning their country. One of the reasons myself and others would be sweating at different high commissions across the country, thinking they've all got it 100% down here.

Nigeria my country.

A colleague was to fly back to Benin from Abuja on Tuesday - 4pm flight.

Flight was delayed for hours because of fuel. After enough chaos, they flew to Kaduna to refuel before helding back to Benin and finally landed at 1am.

So how will they get fuel to the middle of the forest to supply fuel?? By road or air?? undecided

A train left the station without enough fuel to reach its destination?? What a stupid country put peoples lives at risk because of sheer irresponsiblity and incompetence.

Look at the dirty looking white colored train. undecided

I think you are the one exhibiting ignorance here.

Train may be using fuel but not petrol.''Fuel is a general name, it is not limited to petrol alone.

Words fail me !.
Why are we doing this to ourselves.
This is tantamount to an Aircraft not having fuel mid-air !
I tire,
Could you imagine you take the train from Ibadan to Lagos to board a flight !
And now we are talking about reviving the National Air Carrier. Lets focus on one thing and make it work well before moving onto something else.

I disagree - Yes, they have Issues out west but you'll never hear about the silly prevalent Issues in 9ja like a train running out of fuel. If you did, you will also here that a rescue train came and transported the passengers to the nearest train station or that a bus was sent to pick them up.
With regards to not seeing their citizens talking shit about their country - You haven't visited Reddit or Discord seen enough online forums. Or visited twitter. People have to talk, Its the only way to make sure that things like this hopefully do not repeat itself. In that way, people in authority hopefully will come up with a plan next time this happens. It is also from their social forums that information is shared on demonstrations , protests on social or economic issues.
