It was a win win situation, without Obaseki PDP won't be the rulling party In Edo state today, Obaseki saw an opportunity same as PDP.
Now the real issue is why would the PDP not want to integrate the people that came to the party with Obaseki into PDP.

What happened between Oshiomole and Obaseki has nothing to do with betrayer rather it has everything to do with one dictating to the other what and how to run the state even as an ex governor.
Oshiomole wanted to still be the one hand picking commissioners and deciding on several other things.
Wike is looking for sympathy, and it's only those that don't know what exactly is going on that will give him that.

You cannot be controlling billions every month and not be faithful. He has alot of money to throw around, even though he spends some on jamboree while his own state civil servants are been owned salaries and arrears.
To the main issue, Wike is just been untruthful to himself and his followers. The main concern of Obaseki he never addressed it but grandstanding. Why was it so difficult for Edo PDP integrating APC defectors into their fold? This is the complain of Obaseki, the defectors were shielded and never allow any space within the party. If you think is the best thing, then you're far from the truth. This is what Wike himself will not tolerate, if he was in the same shoe. We all know how he has been removing those not loyal to him. We know how he planned coup against Secondus because he wasn't loyal to him and many in his cabinet he has removed for not taken permission from him to organise programme.
One thing is that he sees himself as the owner of PDP and he has the right to poke his nose to everything, even the one remotely not concern him. He's not the chairman or spokesman of PDP but act as one. Fayose did more than that but where is him today? They don't learn lesson at all.

The election was won and Obaseki achieved his primary objective.

He however became unreasonable in insisting that the builders of the party in the state should be disregarded while he has his ways. He wants to solely nominate a successor against the gentleman agreement reached when he joined.

Obaseki is a very bad example.

The earlier Wike stop assuming himself the owner of PDP the better for him. This issue the deputy governor raised was purely under the purview of the PDP national leadership to address. PDP captured Edo not because Obaseki was politically strong to defeat Oshomole and APC but because strong men like Wike stood firm for him. Today Obaseki would not let the owners of PDP he met while sojourning to the party from APC enjoy their party. The issue is that Obaseki prefers working with the people he brought from APC than the people he met in PDP. That is the issue. PDP guys worked for his victory and deserve reward.

Wike said all these while commissioning a project in his state instead of telling his people how they stand to benefit from the project.
