So based on the feedback I gathered, this tech bootcamp recruitment is to create a pool of tech talents whereby the Bank goes to the pool to pick candidates on a need by need basis hence some people in certain roles may be called earlier.

I just received a mail from First bank that I was successful with the recruitment process but they can't onboard me yet.
Nigerian banks really need to overhaul their recruitment process. Do they really expect a Software Developer to be in the market for so long?

So in essence, they are placing you on hold? Whichever way, good thing they even communicated even though the process is slow.

Your friend that got a rejection mail, was it after the chat with the GE? Or he didnt get to that stage?

It was after the chat. I was surprised when he told me he got rejected.

It's like people that got invite for medicals are just like 2/100 o. None of the people i know got the mail.

I had a chat with someone at First bank. I was told the offer letters will be given to successful candidates in Batches.

One has to be patient if one really wants to work with them.
