It is just common sense to immediately block a missing Sim. Call the network provider immediately from another line... They will request basic info you used in registering it to confirm ownership, then deactivate it instantly. This also goes for bank accounts... You simply call the customer care (most banks operate theirs 24-7), and block all account transactions till you come to the bank in person. |

A week ago when I posted "how my access bank account was wiped" when I lost my phone some I too know people attacked me, saying I concorted the story.... When I got to the bank to find out how they were able to do that, I was told my pin was changed using my date of birth...the days are evil and criminals advancing in their evil techniques. 5 Likes |

How do you open this kinds of sensitive information for the General public so that more criminally minded people can learn all these hacks? Well, I hope the banks can see these as well so that they can plug all these loopholes. This is terrible! 1 Like |

WEMA bank is the chief of No Trace Account. They are the only bank in this country that operates No Trace Account. That bank should be banned! 1 Like 1 Share |

Mom007:It's a two way thing. People are not aware that they can loose their money by allowing people have access to their sims. With the light situation ,I have seen people be careless and go charge their phones in another person's house, some even in a public center. 2 Likes |

Teaching more hooligans and thieves on how to carry out their activities against the poor masses. Useless media that doesn't know when to publish sensitive materials and when to with hold them and when to advise poor masses on how to protect/secure their SIM card. The same nonsense western world are doing in Ukraine, using media to expose every move of Zelenskyy so that Russia will deal with him.. Nonsense..

The question is this: Why would our banks enable such fraud by not blocking these codes from revealing such information This looks easy to stop by making sure such short codes are unable to reveal details that can be used to wire out money from peoples account |

Sim lock will avoid you the stress. Once your phone restart, it ask for sim pin Once your sim hit another phone, it asks for sim pin. They don't use your phone to empty your acct, they simply remove your sim to another phone and work on it, while they flash your phone and sell for a cheaper price at ikeja under bridge...... Google how to add pin to your sim card and you will be safe. T 4 tenks 3 Likes 1 Share |

If you are using UBA, GTB, ECOBANK and STANBIC IBTC no body can get your bank details through this! First bank is not secured with this code. They may have access to your account oooo. The *425*100# is for recharge. I just confirmed it on my phone now. See the picture below. 2 Likes

It is finished. All these banks only know how to bring insecure products for their customers. Zero security. Or should I say compromised security products. They keep asking you not to reveal this or that pin/code even to bank staff as if it's not the staffs that created it or as if it was made in heaven by Angels and spirits 1 Like |

In September last year, I discovered that someone had successfully withdrew 14k from my account to buy mtn recharge cards. But how? I recently switch to using the account after several years which unknown to me was tied with an mtn number I had lost with the phone 6 years ago. Apparently someone close to the new owner of the resold mtn number was the one perpetrating this fraud as the new owner do not understand English and only speak Hausa. |

When they steal your phone, your sim is the target not the phone. When they stole my phone, I quickly pulled out all my money, they next thing they did was to borrow credit with my sim before I could block it. 2 Likes |

rolams: I'm so happy my main bank is Ecobank. I can't use USSD. Any transaction must be made with the app. I've forgiven them for all the frustration for close to a year the app was down. I was using POS to transfer to FirstBank before i can be using the money. This is what I have been using since June last year till early this month 2 Likes |
