With all the aforementioned why don't go on vacation during summer break with family. With such CV it's easier to travel with it. Canada is cool but you need to work in their environment to be able to understand their work ethics. Either a study permit turn to PR or Work visa. This process is money and time consuming. Never will you have rest of mind as now because of your quest of new world.

In my case i got a level higher. There is labour shortage in Canada so people with valuable experience get juicy jobs. My first job here the monthly savings was times 2.5 of my salary in Nigeria. Second job i no wan talk before enemies go say i dey brag lmao. And Canada is flexible, after getting your pr you can stay outside for 3 years before coming back. In that time you can apply and get the job that you feel worths it. The ogas in most top companies in Nigeria have foreign passports or have their family abroad. E get why

I will relocate to the US or Canada if I am in the situation above.

That 2.2million you hope to earn monthly is not even up to $4,000/month at the current exchange rate. If the naira continues to depreciate, it will be a lot less in 8 years. $4,000 per month is $48,000 per annum. If you are a legal immigrant and you are educated, you can easily earn a lot more than that in the US.

Then consider you will have to pay school fees for your kids, provide your own power, water. You can't escape bad roads, police checkpoints, generator noise, etc.

I won't even think about it, I will leave if I have the opportunity. Actually, I left already and it is one of the best decision i have taken in my entire life. I only regret not exploring the opportunities available and leaving earlier.

I think it's better you stay back in Nigeria. It is always difficult relocating when you are in your mid thirties and above, and besides you established in Nigeria.

I was in a similar situation as you. I and my wife had a combined monthly income of N1.5m when we left Nigeria, I wont lie, it was a difficult decision to make, now we make about $200k PA in about 2 years, which will only go higher, so no regret.

Hopefully you won't wake up 5 years from now and wish you had taken a different decision. I am speaking from experience, I had the chance in my late 20s / early 30s but ignored the opportunities. Fortunately, another opportunity came again in my late 30s and I grabbed it. Best decision ever!

What is so funny is the way you are mentioning two million like it's ten million . Besides most people relocating are doing so for their children. How many upper middle class if that even exist in Nigeria can beat their chest and say their kids will have much better careers than they do especially with the trajectory Nigeria is headed.

I won't move, but I'll try to secure citizenship for me and my family as an alternative. Even if you earn double monthly, you can't win against the falling of naira, you feel it when you import something, or go abroad, to even Ghana.

Children should be raised by their father and mother under the same roof after all it takes a man and a woman to make a baby. This silly thing that I see Nigerians do whereby they get married but then live apart from their spouses for extended periods of time is not how a marriage should operate. It opens room for cheating and adultery. If you can't live under the same roof with your wife and kids as a husband, STAY SINGLE!

You know what's interesting? The equivalent role and pay in US/UK/AU/NZ/CA or any other desirable location doesn't afford you as many options and opportunities. It's only people abroad in high 6-figure roles that have the same options in-country as a Nigerian with the job described by op. What I mean is having substantial capital to invest and being able to easily do well in business. The American would have to borrow, sacrifice, and take high risks. Even if successful, the margins may be terrible and have them doing not that much better.

But to answer the question, someone in that position should do both. Use the good salary to get some investment real estate, and start a bunch of businesses. Then basically buy a foreign passport. Apparently, you can buy citizenship (for your whole family) in multiple Caribbean countries for a few hundred thousand USD. You can basically do the same thing in Greece and Portugal. When your kids are ready for uni, send them abroad. Maybe invest in some real estate or businesses abroad too.
