My husband and I are in your shoes as well
Did medicals on the 18 of Feb and I was passed on the 1st of March
Also received Adr for schedule A and IMM 5608 on the 27th and submitted on the 28th of Feb and it was acknowledged and we have been waiting ever since for PPR

I don't know what is wrong because several calls to ircc made it clear that everything has been passed.
Is anyone also in this situation where everything has been passed since the 12th of March yet nothing yet

It is frustrating as we have been waiting since Nov 2020
My sibling is in the same shoe, medical passed since Feb 27, ADR section not applicable since March 05 we were already anticipating and people that submitted after him have gotten

I really need sibling point so I can't wait for him to get it grin

Congratulations to you. This is so inspiring, presently our score in the pool is 490 and seeing this, I know there is hope

Hello Nairalanders/Amazing People,

This is my first post here and it's coming a day after receiving my PPR. I promised to share my experience on this much sought after journey once I received my PPR so here it is. I'll try to keep it as brief as possible.

My decision to travel started late 2017 after my sister had moved to Canada in 2016. She argued I consider taking similar steps given the many benefits we all know Canada has to offer. Not to say I was doing badly in Nigeria at the time but for sure I understood the benefits and I was thinking long term. She is based in Manitoba and hence advised I went through the Manitoba Nomination (MPNP) route which I did. I wrote my first IELTS exam early 2018, put together the needed POF, obtained work reference letters, and did all other necessities. Fortunately evaluation of credentials wasn't required by Manitoba. I only included my M.Sc. transcript. I was hopeful but then I realised a mistake I made. My sister resides in the city of Winnipeg in Manitoba but in order to boost my score, I had chosen Brandon as my destination in Manitoba. I assumed the rule was only applicable to having a connection in Manitoba but I was wrong. Brandon was a rural area in the province and hence gave additional points for rural settlement which I wasn't entitled to because my sister did not reside in the area. My application was refused in December 2018 and mehn was I heartbroken. I know we learn from failures but it sure doesn't take away the pain that failure brings.

I remember trying the Express Entry route right after the refusal but then I realised I needed to evaluate my credentials. I definitely would have gotten my M.Sc. credentials from a UK university evaluated but getting my B.Sc. transcript sent by Olabisi Onabanjo University to WES was like thinking a grown lion would make for a good pet. I really hope that has changed now though.

After that experience, I zeroed my mind and thought maybe Canada wasn't for me. I still submitted an EOI to Manitoba but with the way the scores were soaring, I was no longer hopeful. So i continued life in Nigeria and in 2019, I got married.

Fast forward to February 2021, my sister called one late night to enquire further (she had done so many times before) on what I was doing regarding this Jaapa endeavour and I was like this madam should just leave me cause I didn't just see any hope there but I told her I would have a look at the whole process one more time. I mean, only something supernatural could have made that moment come to reality cause that was the crux of my success story. One moment that changed my destiny.

I always understood that I needed to evaluate both my M.Sc. and B.Sc credentials (I might have been wrong though) but after that call I read an article on WES website dated November 2020 that confirmed that only the highest credential was required for evaluation for Canada's PR application. My hope was rekindled. At this point, wify and I decided it best I go alone as including her as accompanying in our application negatively impacted our CRS due to some factors.

I gbe body, gingered, and quickly got my M.Sc. credentials evaluated successfully in March 2021. Registered for another IELTS exam and scored R 8.5, L 8.5, S 7.5 and W 7 in April 2021. With all other documents in place we joined the express entry pool on April 4th with a CRS of 466. At this point we knew FSW draws were not forthcoming but we were hopeful. Afterall, we weren't too far off from the last draw of 468.

2 months went by and nothing. Hope was beginning to dwindle again. But those that say "just join the pool" seem to know what they say. I had no idea of OINP at the time especially after my experience with MPNP. On the 23rd of June 2021, I received a message on my phone from IRCC. Could this be ITA I thought. Nope, it was a Notification of Interest from Ontario. I started my research and discovered it was a PNP just like that of Manitoba but without the need for a connection because I really don't have a strong connection to the province asides a friend. Another hustle began, this time was finding the POF which I got partly from a gift deed. Fortunately, I already had most documents so 2 weeks later, on the 13th of July, I submitted. Although our application was processed really fast, we received a letter of intent to refuse after 9 days. Reason: I had used a business account alongside my personal account as POF. I thought being the sole signatory to the business account meant it was not encumbered, WRONG! Fortunately I was able to correct it and on the 3rd of August we got the Nomination and the ITA on the 4th of August. Just wow! Such speed! I thought. Before December we should have gotten PPR, WRONG! Oga, what do you know about IRCC? Anyways, thus began our relationship with IRCC.

Not to bore you all, the permanent residence application should really have been straight forward coming from the provincial processing point of view but PCC happened. I realised that I needed to obtain my UK PCC as I had schooled there and lived there for over 6 months. Oh my goodness! That is another story on its own, a battle with NIPOST. Those guys are so unreliable. I eventually got the PCC via courier and on the 30th of August we sent in our application and got AOR.

Looking back, we had little interaction with IRCC over the 7 months after AOR. We submitted medical appointments with our application and did them on the 23rd of October. We passed the medical exam on the 17th of December and I gave my biometrics on the 21st of December. We received RPRF request on the 31st of January 2022 as we did not pay it alongside the application processing fee. This was paid the following day and I must say it was such a relief receiving it. 6 weeks went by before acknowledgement of ADR was received from IRCC for the RPRF payment, Imagine! A ghost update followed the following day on the 16th of March and another on the 22nd of March. At that point I was sure PPR was coming the following day thanks to so many experiences shared by others and truly on the 23rd of March 2022 by 6.58pm the "Ready for Visa" email landed on us. A sweet way to end a nerve racking, stress giving, emotional wrecking, patience testing journey. It ended in praise.

I however must mention that I sent 5 webforms in between. One for my birth certificate which I missed out and was meant to help them confirm sibling relationship. One for US visa refusal which I forgot to mention. One for MPNP refusal which I did not mention cause the question on it was not clear at the time of submitting the application. One for Nomination Certificate which I didn't send cause it wasn't part of my document checklist. To be sincere I never really thought I needed to send it but just did to avoid any potential delays. The final one was to confirm my visa office and status of my application and also to reconfirm the previous refusals.

Thank you for reading this. I know it was long but I hope it will be useful for someone.

I wish everyone still hoping for Nomination, ITA or PPR the very best.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

I concluded that what is yours is yours no matter how long it may take or mistakes made along the way.
There is this "school of assumption" that a Visa refusal prolongs your PPR due to rigorous background checks.
Also forgetting to mention your MNPN refusal was enough to get your application thrown out.
People also think raising all those webform in the current era would cause the application to be delayed.
I think 7 months time frame is not bad at all.

CONGRATULATIONS ONCE MORE!!!!!

You can just go to the registry in your state, no ceremony. But i don't know if other certificated apart from Federal Marriage certificate is accepted

Bakola:
Good Day Guys, please has anyone added their spouse post PPR, can you advise the steps you took to add your spouse to your application. Also for anyone who is a Muslim, can you advise how to get an approved Marriage certificate without going to do court wedding.

Started this journey in late 2018. did my iets twice. and did my eca.
EE profile created- april 2019
Alberta NOI- july, 2019
Nominated; oct, 2019 ( two days after my birthday)
ITA; oct 30th, 2019
Applied as single. married in nov, 2019. added spouse before submitting application.
AOR- dec, 14, 2019
BIOmeterics; jan, 2020( spouse and i)
added baby around August ( docs, upfront med for baby, updated POF, etc) i didnt waste time waiting for ircc to give me space on profile to upload. sent via webform to ircc and accra VO seperately. atleast one must get it . it was updated in august ending.
ADR- schedule A- nov, 2020
Remed. recived in dec, 2020 done in jan, 2021 and updated in jan, 2021.( family of 3). expired jan, 2022
3 remed and PPR- feb, 3rd, 2022.
Lord was faithful through all. no serious Adr, just remeds. but im glad its over.

just waiting for passport to come back.

My advice, despite what is happning with express extry. just do all u need to do and place your self in pool. read up on PNP extensively ask questions as u read. dont just come and be asking what u need to do for EE. READ AND THEN ASK QUESTIONS. i used nairaland, canadavisa and irrc page.

EDIT: Just thanking everyone for their kind words. i appreciate. We will get there eventually.

I'm posting this here for me.

Today has been a very off day. I've been in a funk all day, not exactly sure why but the thought of everything is weighing me down.

I've cried my eyes out in the last few minutes hoping to feel better but i don't.

Here's hoping that the universe hears me and send some good news my way.

Fingers crossed.

Please oooooo, seniors it seems i have been doing the wrong thing. Thats why its always good to ask questions cry cry no wonder i have just been in the pool wasting time and not getting nomination.

1. Does Ontario pick people with old profiles i.e 3 months to expiration.

2. I noticed Ontario is presently picking people who created their profile March last year till march this year. Before they'd get to July, it may be 4 months time. Should i create a new profile? I'm thinking if i do, I may be lucky. For example i create my profile March 28th, meaning they'd start from March 28 last year to March 28 this year.

Profiles are valid for 1 year. The most recent OINP draw is for skilled trades so only select NOCs will likely qualify.

It's been a long journey...but, I do not take this good news for granted. My prayer is that all our expectations on this journey will be met and exceeded.

Our journey started in 2017 when a friend of my hubs introduced us to this journey. However, as a family, we had so much going on that we did not take it the information with much seriousness...however, the seed was sown.

Mid 2018, after my maternity leave and on one of those dreaded traffic back home after work, out of the frustration, I brought up the conversation again with Hubs and that's how we embarked on this journey for real.

The obstacles were real, too many hurdles and financial constraints...but somehow, we took one step at a time and here we are today...

Timeline

WES - August 2018
IELTS - November 2018
Express Entry Profile Submitted February 2019
ITA - July 10 2019
First Medicals - Upfront (Expired)
AOR - July 2019
Biometrics - August 2019
Welcomed a new baby in November 2019
Added baby, passports and medicals for baby done in two weeks!
2020 long silence...
Ordered about 4 GCMS notes and sent numerous mails throughout the period of our wait
January 2021 - Background check completed
Re-medicals - (Expired)
December 2021 - 3rd Medical request. We just did medicals for every family member at once (recall we added a new baby who had a different medical expiry date)
PPR - January 2022
Submitted our passports same month.
COPR - March 2022 (about six weeks in between submission to VFS and back to us)

My dates are all over the place, but I hope you get the gist from the above...also, in total, my family of 4 had 3 medicals at various times and before PPR.

Funny thing is, I did not even know it was a PPR mail till later that day, I got the mail in my inbox and did not take a second look because I thought it was one of their automated messages. It took us sharing with a family friend (God bless these guys) before we knew it was PPR. The joy that evening is a topic for another day. The long wait had messed us with our heads so much.

I had to leave this group for a while to protect my mental health. When I got back, I could not remember my login details not to talk of people here (most of whom I believe have travelled).

No one told us that after PPR is a different journey entirely...please be warned...lol. Nothing to fear though, all will be well.

Lastly, kindly let me know if there is a pre-arrival group. I will be happy to join...

Have they sent any NOIs to your NOC/CRS without sending to you? Or have you ever ignored NOI from them, if yes, new profile will probably get you an NOI. If no, just wait until if/when they remember your noc/CRS

Please if you find out. Let me know.

I have the address and the fees.

Seems it i listed this way

So in essence you are to pay 16.15 GBP per applicant. So if you have 3 passports. I guess that's *3 . We need to confirm this.

Also you pay 74.00 GBP for return outside the UK (please note this does not cover Nigeria) just Norway, Denmark and Sweden and need to sign the consent form for Authorised courier company or your Family friend that would pick up.

@lloid and graciousWords.

Figured the process now.

So it's straightforward.

Gather all documents required. Print out the vfs consent form from VFS UK site.

Fill for each applicant including minors.

Vfs Uk can send out of the UK zone only (i.e only Denmark, Nowary and Sweden) and not back to Nigeria.

Pay the Visa transmission fee for each applicant including minors(They confirmed you have to as the transmission is for the passport ) so every applicant has to be paid for.

Pay the local uk courier fee or outside Uk courier fee. Please note this fee is also per applicant. I.e if you have 5 family members it is 5* courier fee.

Get someone you have in the UK or any of the countries above and get their address. Print their details i.e Address on an A4 and add it to the Package).

Then go to your local DHL and ship to the UK vfs address. They would ship back to the address you tpyed out.

Cheers!

I'm currently working on New Brunswick and someone just to look up Ontario.

Have you explored each of the PNPs in detail? That is your best bet since their criteria are so different. You could also try the New Brunswick info session link that was posted some pages back.
