Your first point is false. Nigerian artists generally don't know how to perform live.....that's why I laugh seeing Simi and D'banj judging and laughing at better vocalists on Nigerian Idol. I watched one concert of Simi on Soundcity recently and it was so mediocre. What Burna does on stage is the same thing Davido, Wizkid and the rest does. I agree that Burna is lyrically better though, but I think he's losing it. His recent songs aren't so good lyrically. African Giant will forever remain his best.

The most important about this artist and others like them. They got it out the mud, they really work hard for their money without handout from daddy and mommy......

Davido for example made his own money without his daddy's money. He worked hard for it and he didn't follow the blue print and go join family business.. He made it and did it his way..

And don't be surprise that his father than his highly and very highly proud of him than the rest of the children that are working for daddy. He does not need daddy's money to enjoy the lifestyle he is enjoying now. This is the way we as a parent should train our kids.......

The other artists like wizkid and co . should be used as a motivation factor for the youths to emulate. These guys got it from the mud with hard work . success is always sweeter when u know did it with no handouts. Nobody can come and say they made u who u are today.......

.dearth of values in the music industry was the ONLY reason you were given that award.yeah, DEARTH OF VALUES!none of your songs,not one can be rated alongside any of fela kuti,Bob Marley,buju,Dube,even majek.,these are world class African artiste, legends, whose work transcend the entire world,breaking barrier in racism, color prejudice, languages, thoughts,culture, tribes, setting timeless messages, redefining VALUES, provoking thought,,ideal, generation yet unborn will live to cherish and inspiring even ..a whole paradigm shift from from current noisy, empty,message'less', meaningless din and cacophony of noise pollution y'all called music now.so damn pathetic undecided

the issue I have with a lot of Nigerians is that you just imagine things up and call it facts. Black coffee a south African DJ is the highest paid African musician. He is worth about $60m while davido and wizkid are with about 20m each. And don't forget that Akon is African. Don't forget north Africa too. Africa is not just Nigeria.

He should ask his grandpa the equivalent of his performance fees today to the performance fees of the founding father of #Afrobeat, Fela Kuti when £1 was N2 in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Intellectual illiteracy is epidemic in Africa.
Half educated singer who cannot read and write music originally like Fela Kuti talking trash.
Without a DJ, majority of them cannot do live performance, because they cannot play musical instruments.
