ThamesWater:Lol you have no idea how you'd look in the presence of that teacher. How many of them believe in God ![]() Once my child is age two,I fly him to Nigeria in a military school. After his primary school,I fly him back for highschool. If he starts to misbehave,I threaten to fly him back to naija in which I will actually do. You must be disciplined by force. |

Shokoloko:Gob bless you for this. I grew up being a victim of extreme domestic violence. It took me years of self rehabilitation to be able to prevent myself from transmitting passive aggression to others. Till now I still feel the psychological and emotional effects when I think of what I went through as a child and the funny part is my family is unapologetic about it, and till this present moment I find it difficult forgiving them, I have no fear of them, I have no respect for them, Infact I nor send them at all, and never want them to be around me. My mom once tied me and almost threw me in a well, thank God for neighbours intervention, another time she broke my head for bringing the wrong bucket, of which I still have the scars, on numerous time I was bitten as in bite with teeth mercilessly, my head smashed on the wall and ground, knives hurled at me, I ran away from home 5 times, 80% of all scars on me was from my experience as child and a whole lot more of other stuffs done I still carry in my heart till date which has strained our relationship. I stand against domestic violence any day and any time. I wish we had institutions set up for the purpose of bringing justice to the victimized children. |

ThamesWater:You are in London yet, you want to "touch" your son.Is it that you're not scared of losing the child or you're not scared of jail? That's not wisdom to me. "Let's go to grandpa's house in Nigeria for Christmas". When you get there, drill sense into his head and let your ex-wife call naija police. |

Onewazobia:You cannot compare. Already spousal rape is not recognized in most African countries. Rape is not reported to the police for fear of stigmatization. In Africa rape between siblings is hushed and hidden, In Africa married women do not report rape for fear of being rejected by their husbands. The reason why rape seems high in developed countries is because rape is freely reported there. However if you google "rape by country 2021" or "rape by country 2022", the number one spot is given to a country in which continent? You guessed right - Africa

Shokoloko:You see part of the poor education you had,you think someone that sells laptops is poor or wretched or unworthy? You think an African is crude and timid? Yes i sell laptops for living,is there anything wrong in that? it's a legit Job and i will continue to sell it over and over again if can. You think living in West makes you better which i doubt, someone who lives in the west must have embrace a logical thinking, they must have known that all legitimate jobs is job. You, budget reconciliation? who dash monkey banana? better things dey hungry you. You that you are store filler in Walmart,na mẹ you wan take cure? ![]() i am on my 4th cycle of passport and i have touched 7 countries in 4 continents,i don't like to brag, but idiot like you need to be shown where you belong As for the books, any of their writings will give you the needed understanding of the topic at hand. i do not need to spoonfed you, take that as an assignment on your own and develop your self,i have done enough in this little time by educating you about Subjects and authors. |

Solatium:You need to stop looking down on yourself brother. Where did I say you were poor and wretched and unworthy and crude and timid. Why did you use such names to describe yourself - this doesn't look good. See the terrible words you used to describe yourself!!! Take a deep breath. All will be well BTW 7 countries in 4 continents is not bragging. Canadians typically go on holiday every other year so its normal. Calm down, stop looking down on yourself. Laptop selling is a legit job. You inability to provide a reference or even the name of any book shows that you don't know and that's fine. Its okay to not know. In the long run, you'll be fine. Things will be okay |

Shokoloko:Look down on myself? you think you are speaking to a slowpoke,i know how to play with words too.You don't need to say it directly, when you said i should go back to my laptop sales you purposely said that to make me fell less of a human, you said it to break me,unfortunately you met a man with a strong resilient. The fact Nairaland is a faceless forum does not make you talk down on anyone,my first Visa to Uk was in 2005,i wonder what you were doing then. When I see people who are quick to throw the location of where they live or their job title or educational qualifications into an argument that has nothing to do with that,i already know their mindsets, meanwhile the quality of your writing should be the one pointing the kind of person you are,it will state if you are enlightened or educated,it will show if you are sociable or aggressive. Learn to be humble, there is everything to gain in Humility. |

| Re: When Your Children Call The Police For Disciplining Them. by Shokoloko(f): 9:42pm On Mar 28, 2022 |
Solatium:Awww.... poor you. And you didn't provide a reference. But truly everything will be okay. You will come out of this stronger. You won't be broken. And don't describe yourself with those words again. Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks |

You’re been very realistic. We need to come to terms with the new reality of the connected world. The world around us is in a fierce competition with us in the raising of our children. I stress the adjective “fierce.” I think Kanwuliababy is taking the battle to the front door of the darn world in her own way. KanwuliaBaby: |

We have all seen will smith and what the culture of corporal punishment can do. Something that could have been resolved by telling Chris brown off Instead he had a meltdown in front of the world. This is the flip side of teaching kids that violence solves everything Unless you want to stay in the hood forever |

KanwuliaExtra:Any child that starts to misjive or call the police within the Nigerian Diaspora community can simply be shipped off to a standard or military boarding school in Africa for better brain formating... Saves a lot of time and stress. Skype and video calls can then serve as a means of trans-Atlantic contact between the parents and child till further notice. Period. |

The summary of this thread and the posters in this thread is that a large number of Nigerians are abusive and sadistic people who hide under the guise of "discipline" and "cultural values". I'm afraid to say that Nigeria will never get better in our lifetime. It will continue to be a pit of despair and abuse till the crows come home. O daabo o. |
