That is my issue with Eguavoen and co.

Forget name, Otto Addo was born and bred in Germany. He understands and implements the modern game. Guy came in and got Ghana up to shape in days. Eguavoen has been with this team since December last year and they are still struggling to link up and find each other on the pitch.

I said it before, we do not play as a team and it will haunt us. We rely too much on individual talents: what Osimhen can do, what Simon can do etc. instead of what the overarching team can do in unison.

Our next coach must prioritize making us press, pass and create chances as a unit rather than just throwing big names around.

PS: Osimhen I saw today is not worth 50 million pounds, let alone 100 million. All na hype. There was a ball he got on the right wing that he crossed to the skies, those attempted bicycle kicks could have been controlled and placed, poor offside awareness multiple times in the game etc. He has heart but his decision making is so poor to be worth that much. He can use that gra-gra to boss Serie A but when he goes to bigger leagues like the Champions League and EPL he will be badly exposed.
like he hasn't been playing in the champion league or scoring agaisnt the so-called epl teams. Abeg look for another thing to pacify your pain.

Salisu has rejected Ghana several times ,I hope they don’t take him to the World Cup

And why is Alfred Duncan and schlup not in the team ?
i hope we dont take salisu too,he annoyed me when he rejected our call... As for duncan and schlup issues i dont know why ? Maybe GFA politics

I guess NFF has elections later in the year. That will be an excuse not to bring the expat coach that you want. Most likely Amuneke will continue with the team. I expect Eguavoen to return to his previous role. I just hope Amuneke will be giving a free hand to appoint his assistants. That’s the way forward for now.
Hopefully, Pinnick loses out on the election and we get a forward thinking administrator who ALSO has interests in the grassroots.

I personally don't have the confidence in Amuneke that you have. He was part of the coaching crew and am not sure we saw any changes with him being there. If he can't function as the assistant coach, how then would he perform as the main coach.

Every point before the Osihmen (23 yr old) criticism is accurate.
Even Ronaldo & Messi miss penalties, some clear cut chances.
Osihmens lungs is top notch.
They will test him regularly in my opinion
The game was a bit weird because of the pitch quality. Ball wasn’t flowing freely like in Europe or the Garoua pitch.
Osihmen is worth more than 50m in today’s market. He tried, no one is perfect.

Let the BS get all the best players they can get, let bygones be bygones. I want to believe Otto and Chris Hughton won't take any player that would cost the team. It's also important you guys don't repeat the mistake of using a topic personality like Kevin Prince Boateng. I really like Otto and would love to see him succeed.

Uzoho was the biggest disappointment yesterday. How did a GK that exuded so much confidence in Kumasi turn to shit in Abuja?!

Also, I think Osimhen should have tried to control the crosses into the box, rather than try fancy overhead shots. You should only try those fancy attempts when your team has a comfortable lead, say a 2 or 3-goal lead. sad

It's sickening that Osimhen is getting so much stick after the game. He is still a work-in-progress but it is difficult to question his commitment and application on the pitch. He is in fact, one of the reasons I felt bad about the loss.

I still maintain my previous stance. The tie was about bragging rights between NGA and Ghana, nothing more. This tie has produced one of Africa's weakest reps in Qatar.

Our bredas should be proud if their team manages to get a point before heading home....not like NGA would have fared any better though.

If he won't create a toxic environment why not. Really I don't think he stands any chance with England. Also Lamptey and Nketiah could be good additions too for them provided they don't rock the boat.

otto is like ghanaian by nationality but his life and everything is like a german even our players know, he is no nonsense and really disciplined im sure he will try to help our current players improve rather than bringing egoistic players to the team, in six months i know he will improve the squad but there is no pressure on him coz we know this is our weakest squad in decades

not saying our team is good but to write them off before qatar which is six-seven months away is not fair... Besides we have several players across the world we can add to the squad, jeffery schlup, salisu, alfred duncan, etc besides if the coach can improve this team within two weeks what makes u think he wont improve the team in six months ?
Pray tell, what did the Otto improve?

Furthermore, this thread has transcended Nigerian football into our personal lives as connections have been made and friendships have been forged here.

The thread will only be renamed to reflect our future aspirations and I welcome suggestions for that.
That's right Boss.

Bro, even lower teams (no disrespect to them) like Central African Republic and North Macedonia of this world can hold anybody to a draw if that's what they came for.

We both saw how toothless Ghana's attack was in Abuja and how poor possession was too. Fine, there's ample time to fine tune things going to WC but over the two legs I only saw inshallah football honestly

This is not the part I encourage you with some wise words of Plato. This is the part where I yell "Get a Grip damnit!"

Did you just start watching football in this qualifiers? I already see you insulting and calling our player names. For what? Have some character abeg.

I started watching the SE in this 21st century and we all have seen a lot and there's a lot to come. 2006 world cup miss was painful, who died? Don't exaggerate this thing baba

I am not sad because we lost (I saw it coming), I am sad because we are sliding towards the direction of a barren concrete building. We are constantly rebuilding yet we are not getting it right. I am even happy we lost because we would have been disgraced and pummeled at the WC..

The losers called players don't care.

exactly my thought. Going to qatar would have been a total embarrassment. This is the perfect time to start all over again. We need to save our local league
