I really admire the job done by Carlos Quiroz with the Iranian team and the Pharoahs.

A good candidate for the SE job.
not happening. 1. Egypt paid him 90k/mo, I’m not sure Nigeria have that. 2. His style is boring and very defensive , una go start to dey cry that he’s not utilizing our ‘World class’ players very well.

What is the way forward from this important lesson taught from losing out on the world cup.(Not like we were going to make any difference there apart from fashion as usual)
I also noticed people mocking Osihmen who was the brightest spark of the bunch with his sheer determination. Sad part was that he was pressing alone so made his effort look fruitless.
I remember complaining bitterly that we have wingers who do not cross the ball which is the easiest way to get the striker involved.
We did not play as a team bar the match against Egypt, we have not really played as a team for a long time.
What exactly is wrong?
I feel if half the same support were given to the female team maybe they would have made more impact. I watch the U20 falconets recently and was impressed by their play especially the crosses they were attempting.
I hope we do learn from this.
PS. Those hypes by some forum members I believe was to lift the mood of the thread. We all know that we have a slightly below average team with some good players. That said these players do well at club level so why struggle in the SE. Maybe our technical crew is poor.
Those say Rohr should have not been sacked have forgotten how bad we were playing. I believe we need a really good coach who can help us rebuild our reputation because as it is, we will struggle to beat Comoros.
Also I wish all this bashing of Ghana would stop likewise from their side. As you can see defeat can be a bitter pill to swallow

I know he won't come cheap. A consurtium of business men usually pay the Pharoahs Coach..that arrangement had been there for a while..can't say if that is still the case. If we want a moderate budget , ..we can't get a first grade coach. There is still a lot of room for private sector investment in our sports generally but we need the right organization and transparency to make it work.

True his style is boring but I must admit we need some humility now. We have decent players (don't like using the word "average"wink but then we would have to accept the need to sacrifice beauty for efficiency. Even the mighty Brazil isn't as exciting to watch as they were during their golden era.

English Premier League and Championship clubs are interested in 6ft 4in tall Anglo-Nigerian striker Elijah Adebayo ahead of the reopening of the transfer window.

According to Football League World, Burnley, Huddersfield Town, and West Bromwich Albion are keeping tabs on Adebayo who is having a banner season at Luton Town.

The 24-year-old has tallied fifteen goals in 35 all-competition appearances so far in 2021-2022 while providing four assists.

Currently third in the Championship table, Luton Town will have a fight on their hands to keep hold of Adebayo beyond the end of the season if they are not promoted to the Premier League.

A product of the Fulham academy, Adebayo switched to the Hatters in February 2021 and took in loan spells at
Slough Town, Bognor Regis Town, Cheltenham Town, Swindon Town and Stevenage during his twelve-year association with the Cottagers.

Adebayo has a contract with Luton Town until the end of the 2023-2024 season.

How do one really overcome hurt of not qualifying for the World Cup for the next 8 months. It's gonna be hard.

Today is World Cup draw. Very soon European league will end and then gbam we are talking World Cup matter again.

Congratulations to others who are supporting the other African teams on the spirit of African sportsmanship. Because I can't have another African team qualifying to the knockout and not my own Eagles

Yes I'm aware of AFCON qualifiers omonh up soon. The World Cup starts November. 2006 was easier for me to accept even though I cried as I was much younger hoping Angola will at least play a draw in their final match to allow us qualify.
