With the bolded, you are still making my point.

The company started on a low level. Now got a chance for this higher-paying federal job. The company was RECOMMENDED by a federal minister and a former governor by the name of Chibuike Amaechi.

Otherwise you are trying to tell me that Tinubu's recommendation should be considered more informed, than Amaechi's recommendation.

A mere commissioner position is nothing compared with being the vice president of a nation, but Osibanjo was allowed to be the VP. Osibanjo did not disqualify himself from the VP job because he'd never been the VP before.
What's the low project they've done before..?? What's the company brand names,? Even a minister can be dubious. Osinbanjo was seen taking defending a case brilliantly, he wasn't choose from God knows where. Performance was high and recommded.

This Amaechi own, what's d name? What's their history,. Convince us it's not a Money siphoning shaddy contract . Even hi tech company won't give their job to newcomer except it is convinceable enough.

Did you give them a job before and they didn't deliver? How will small companies grow to big ones if they are not given the opportunity?

Personally, I don't fancy the choice of Osinbanjo for 2023.

Something about him is not adding up, not because of this report but I have always seen that.
I see him as a green snake under a green grass.

Why didnt Osibanjo ask that another company with a stronger balance sheet and history be forwarded?

Throwing off the table an assumed solution without recommendation solves nothing.
The Ministry of Transportation ,ought to present a better proposal or at best throw the contract into open bidding to be advertised on NTA, AIT, TVC and Channels so that any competent company can bid for it.

They didn't do the above because they have a vested interest in that company. This is something that any reasonable Nigerian can figure out.

Most people here are just dunces, no better than those they criticise.
Squabbling over what is clearly the 'personalisation' of government, which is a crime but at the expense of governance which in this case is an even bigger crime.
Yes, corruption and rent seeking has been prevented but you knowingly let those trains run unattended through bandit country, for perhaps weeks or months unending.... which has cost lives.....
No one comes out of this unscathed.
Both the Minister and the Vice President should explain why those trains were not secured by other means or services suspended until alternate security service providers found.
It appears from this forum that both citizens and government are in agreement that lives just do not matter.

Take a cue from Boeing 737 Max debacle of a few years ago.
Even though no American life was lost but because it was an American aircraft regulated by the United States, heads did roll and international law suits came aplenty.

Here both citizens and government are playing political football with peoples lives.
Woe betide them to resume those train services without sorting out this stinking mess of a contract caper. .

Hmmm! How do we know the papa, mama and pikin company didn't collude with the attackers because of the rejection? Anything is possible in Naija.
Abi? To highlight the “importance” of their scandalous rejected proposal and punish the Executive for spotting holes and trashing their bid

Nothing in Nigeria shocks us any longer.

What was the alternative available? Keep quiet until the rail was bombed and people kidnapped and killed?

Well,President Buhari Immediately signed the contract to the same company after the blast when he learned what happened. So how do you defend that?

Stop supporting evil, it doesn't pay!

If a company u brought was rejected since last yr September, what stop u from bring another recognized brand with good track record for approval?? So because they rejected one from lacking merit means u have to abardon and sit down.. u and ur oga are evil..

PMB is clueless and confused. Does he looks like someone not on autopilot? Why do u think the country is collapsing under his watch? What has been the result of the finace for security he has been signing since. Bunch of funny politicians.

You are the one who is very funny. Go and follow the procurement guidelines. This is a company that Bureau of Public Procurement have already cleared. So what else is there? Is Osinbajo more knowledgeable than experts at the Bureau or just being plain silly and playing politics with the lives of people?

What exactly was Osinbajos interest if not to carry out the commands of his frog eyed boss Tinubu?

Now that there is blood let him come out again and defend his actions to the families who lost their loved ones. Is 3.7 Billion more important than human lives?
Re: 2023: Osinbajo, Not FEC, Stood Down Amaechi’s Security Memo - New Telegraph by Wada3: 5:09pm On Apr 02, 2022
In all honesty, the FEC took the right decision considering the capacity and capabilities of the the said company approved by Anaechi to carry out the project

pasumaThat should have been raised as well if it was of concerned to him
And now, well over 6 months after they asked Amaechi to revert with required information regarding the contract, why has he yet to get back?
They didn't ask him questions that required him to enrol for another degree before he could answer.

Why would that Tinubu Asslicker Osinbajo stop a contract that had a chance to save lives? Why why why? A contract that passed through the prism of BPP. This time around that Killer VP has bitten off more than what he can chew. Useless human being.

Go and explain to the family of those 8 people that lost their loved ones this useless reason of Tinubu Asslicker Osinbajo to deny a contract that could have save the lives of their loved ones. Ok after standing down the contract for whatever foolish inconsequential reason, did he suggest an alternative? If not that he is evil, did he suggest an alternative?

That man is completely useless!
Oshinbajo said they need clarifications and clear road map on Fountionality specifically .Your question should go back to minister and his contractor on what they have done on FEC Request why the memo was stand down.

The railway deal should have included a CCTV surveillance system and other relevant technologies from the start.

This scenario may appeal to someone who purchases a car that is missing a battery.

QuotaSystem:
Lies and misrepresentation.

Amaechi's proposal wasn't rejected just because of the brand (or lack thereof), but mainly due to a conflict of interest and lack of capacity.

So Amaechi wanted to entrust our railway security to a Papa, Mama & Pikin company with neither the capital nor track record for delivering such a critical project. The jackals even wanted the payment upfront shocked

Osibanjo was indeed a good steward of leadership when he was in acting capacity as President in Buhari's absence. His eagle eyes spotted the irregularities when he presided over the FEC meeting and rejected the proposal accordingly.

No wonder Amaechi was so quick to point fingers and pass blame immediately after the incident. If he had done the right thing in the first place and presented a proposal from a reputable & capable company that wouldn't raise red flags of "conflict of interest", could the unfortunate railway tragedy of last Sunday have been averted? Maybe. Just maybe.

Let us soberly reflect, make amends & give reverence to the innocent departed, and Amaechi's handlers should stop playing petty politics with an avoidable national tragedy .

So Osibanjo's choice was to endanger the lives of travelers by not bringing up an alternative to what Amaechi planned. Osibanjo's solution was to indirectly aid in the killing of innocent passengers, because the company had never done a big contract before.

Osibanjo still has to show us the commissioner position he took on, before he was brought in as a commissioner by Tinubu.

So now you want me to trust Tinubu's judgement? The same man that told us that Buhari was the best thing since sliced bread. What makes you think Tinubu's decisions are not completely warped, following his recommendation that Nigerians should vote for Buhari?
