A friend of mine has DOB issues, when she verified her account her ID was reading 1992 while her real age is 1994, but she has now updated her age using declaration of age by the court.

Now she is worried if upwork asks her to reverify there won't be an issue. She contacted support and this is what they said.

Please know that there's no impact on her Upwork profile if her DOB is incorrectly recorded on her ID. What we are concerned about is if it's fake or not or if it's someone else's ID.

We also do not process reverification of account especially if the account is already verified. I do not think changing the information on your DOB from your Upwork profile is needed when you register for voters card.

I advised her not to worry and whenever she is asked to re-reverify, she should contact the upwork support and explain again.

I was unable to complete my profile because I'm busy now adays working for local client.
i have 3 question.
1. will my absence for long time lead to account suspension.
2. can upwork profile be 100% completed without a profile video
3. it's possible to land a gigs with less 90% profile completion

There are some skills on upwork that are already saturated ( too many freelancers have the skill) , my advice to you is to learn a skill that's uncommon then create your profile using that skillset, there are high chances upwork will approve the account, when they do, update your profile with your main skillset. I am a software developer and some of the skills that i know aren't saturated on upwork are :- machine learning, deep learning, rust, julia, R. I know it's not easy learning this languages but you can create an upwork account with this languages the day you start to learn them ( then update your profile later to reflect your strong hold)

Upwork is one of the best freelancing platforms i have come across, in the past i tried fiverr, peopleperhour but bleh.

Be clear and straightforward when applying for jobs, be sure if your skills and don’t give off the aura of desperation but that of a consummate professional that knows his/her worth.

Please does adding a certificate of performance in my upwork profile boost my chances of wining a proposal?

I joined Upwork in February and made substantial money. I opened a gt dom account to receive money from payoneer. I transferred 1000 from payoneer. I saw payoneer taking 20$ out of it(2%). But only 970 landed in GT. Now Gt bank is saying they don't know where the 10 dollars went. I didn't request for card either.

It happens. For large sums there is some handling fee that the cost vary... They've charged me between 10 - 20 depending on the sum. I think its stated somewhere in the payoneer transfer that there might be additional handling fees

Just add it to your cost at the end, that you might lose < 20 for each 1000 sent to your dom. I don't know why someone has to lose almost 20-30(payoneer fee inclusive) in just logistics of small funds

I will recommend grey though if you don't really need the money in dollars but prefer the black market rate. I haven't had such extra unforeseen charges with grey... Although I haven't sent that large a sum through it.

In that case, you'll have to bear the charges

Wise required an international passport which I do not have so I skipped them

I also don't do crypto.... no reason, just prefer my money in traditional banks

I don't use PayPal so I don't know.
Wise just gives you US bank account details like Payoneer but they have lower fees. You move the funds to crypto.com to buy usdt, then move that to Binance. Then you can do P2P with binance. There was a thread here on it

Now, a lady (a new freelancer too) messaged me that she got blocked on Upwork. She has already gotten an offer and she has started working.

I asked her what could be wrong and she said the Means of Identification she used was rejected. At First, she used National ID Card which she said was rejected, then she used Voter’s Card and then it was also rejected. Then she got the message that she has been permanently blocked on Upwork.

Now my questions are these;

1. What exact means of ID can one use on Upwork that won’t pose any issue and get one’s account blocked.

2. Is it after one’s got an offer that Upwork request for verification of those ID?

3. What is the implication of not verifying if what you are having is only National ID card and Voter’s Card and they are not accepting that?

Please Gurus in the house, help me answer this questions cos I am really scared now that I am getting invites form clients and I am hoping I will be getting an offer soon.

Since Driver's License is safe to use and I think it takes lesser time to come out unlike International passport, I think I will process the DL first.
