I have a friend, a very strong hardworking guy, he does Site work, casting specifically, which is the hardest of all site works (decking, pillars, climbing 2 3 story etc.)
He did dry cleaning work for a couple of Days, he decided immediately that after that first month, he will stop!
This is someone I know well, a very hardworking Guy
But he said that that dry-cleaning work aint it, Ironing from morning till night, the Owner too na a lo pa...
He was in the Ironing section

Many factory works these days, are like that, most worse, it ain't about laziness at all...
Too too bad

Most of these companies ain't it, site work is still far better.
What about Disrespect and how you are treated, you can't be treated anyhow, not on that level in site
Some site work can even have a bit fun here and there
I agree construction site works has alot of fun.

I did those jobs.

But don't call dry cleaning work a factory job.

Factory is where production/manufacturing is made, somewhere that has machines and alot of equipments, if you are smart enough you can even learn how to operate one of those machines and boost your cv.

Construction site work can get you 4k a day, it depends sometimes 3k or 2k but it makes one ages faster than his agemates ( I am not talking about the Engineers) and there are no health benefits or meals, all of them na your sef bro.

Factory work is better

Why is everybody here Na complaining about factory work then??
Maybe some are okay, but most are not.

In those Days, I remember factory work was quite okay, even family men dey do am
And some BSC/HND/Nd wey never see better, but it's no longer like so.

As for dry cleaning, forget it! Even me sef know
For my friend to say Na error, that kinds guy wey don do all manner of labour work, from aluminium roofing, to Machinery operation, site work, labourer bricklaying labor etc.
Na error oh...
I'm not calling it factory work, but there are some Jobs Mike that, you will feel I fit do am, but when you get there, you will hate it

When the site is okay, and contractor/supervisor/Foreman too is okay, it's good, there's even career prospects there...

I do factory job back in the days. See. Most Nigerians don't know what happens in our society and how bad things are. You set nor talk am well here.

Do you know that it is assumed that you don't stay still, bend or rest doing these jobs? We were so monitored in a way that you can't stand still for five minutes at all. Break just 40 minutes and work is dusk till dawn.

No bending down, no standing still, nothing even as short as five minutes.

I feel bad for our work culture

Lolz, U make me remember mouka foam for Kaduna then...

Keep Quiet.

Factory Job is for a start-up in Life's Race, I mean as a Contract Staff.

You will have to learn the techniques others who have been there use for the Job, then you save up and go do what you admire.

Na so una take dae go steal and do Yahoo.

Tell me one country that don't have factory workers.

The one I started with was 20k with daily feeding, your own even get levelz.

It's even better than doing service for a bricklayer.

You are funny o! You are even justifying the nonsense with the claim that every country has factory workers. You think it is okay to work 12 hours straight for #50,000? How will the country be fixed if we don't even see anything wrong with the state of affairs. We should have working labour laws that protect citizens from exploitation especially by foreigners.

Factory work is not by appearance. If you like smoke, don't smoke. You go work your ass off. By the way, have quit smoking. Have turn a new leaf

I hope 12 hours is not a day to you because most of the factories I know operate on 2 shifts basis,12 hours each(day or night) of which 1 hour is for break.where I worked was enjoyment ;30 minutes breakfast break then 1 hour normal break (from 12 noon).Night duty was enjoyment promax,12 to 12:30am ,work don close be dat

1k per day is way too small for three years ago (2019 Latest).
I did site work in 2020 (casting), I got 2k per day.
No where is a person paid a day's labour, in any hustling levels 1k per day, except maybe it was not too stresful like that
1k is madness, 1500 in a few poor cases
1k a day, naaaa...
lol dem still dey pay 1k per day for 2022 sef

I was just like you 3 days ago when I created my previous thread on factory work. Until I experience it with my korokoro eyes. The work na modern slavery. Someone even told me I can't do it. I told him it is a lie that I will do it. Bricklayer work self is still better than factory work. Dem go use your life like dey one kill u. You may fall under food, beverage or plastic company. Just know that anyone you fall under. No mercy.

Only advantage to a factory job is if it comes with an apprenticeship program , they enroll you ,train you and same time use you ,though they pay salary
Academy press does that though not sure about now anyways .
I got promoted yearly for for years and my take home was N9k at year 1 ,GLO1 , stage 1 far back as 2004.
They also have graduate trainee s who starts from GLO4 , stage 1.
Company is partly owned by Americans and the head of training are a German and a Briton
But you see those Chinese and Indian companies ,some littered around ilupeju
They use you like Jackie and casualise you for many years with no benefit like HMO , meal subsidy , annual leave etc
Factory work is good if you the owners or founders are Europeans or American s but terrible if they are all these chinco and Indians .

Na wa o! Una de discourage upcoming factory workers with this una horrific experiences.

There is hardly anything good to say about factory work.

After spending six years at it, I realised I would have preferred to start a business with capital sourced from Lapo or Sokoloan and see where it leads than waste my time on that shitt.

Never worth it.
