I left Lagos because what I was earning was just for transport and rent. I forced my self out to Delta where I had Job that paid my rent and performed my responsibilities. I regretted wasting 7 years .

My guys Lagos is what it is, firstly it depends on what you have in mind and secondly it will take the grace of God, Lagos is not easy...when I came to Lagos last year march I saw Lagos as the last state I will ever go to settle down, if I ever want to travel again it will be out of the country so when I came to Lagos it wasn't easy been someone that does not have any closer family member except a cousin who really even cares about someone.

So when I arrived I stayed three weeks without a job and in that three weeks how I eat is that I wash clothes for my cousin and he dashes me 500 naira, Omo hunger knack me like trailer, there was a time I had to go two days without food I nearly catch ulcer.

So I befriended a guy that works in a guest house who linked me to a place where his gf works (factory work) and the pay was 1000/day and they pay every two weeks but they don't work on weekends, I managed the place for a month then got another job where all we do is loading and it's a steady night job but the pay was better (12k a week) but na die cos u will be feeling like train jam you after every nights work, men it wasn't easy at all. So I did that one for good one year but glory be to God last month I got a call from a job I applied for since last year June that I should come for interview and lo and behold it was successful and I have resumed with a pay of 108k, it can only get better if you believe.

So far so good Lagos has been kind.

Well few years from now every part of the country will be standardized just like the few already develop once,..let always do good and thank those whose do us good in whatever way in our endeavor.

Comparing Lagos with the whole Northern Nigeria shows that you're not bright at all and you're far from being intelligent. Also, how many young Nigerian youths are able to secure good paying non-government jobs upon graduation? You'd just open your mouth WA without thinking.

Been in Lagos since 2004 when I came to have an education and frankly I am getting very exhausted. Contemplating relocating to the FCT once I put an end to my 9-5 life. I plan to build in either Guzape or Katampe extension and thereafter settle down there for the foreseeable future.

I was raised in lagos. Lagos was good during my youth years. Then the express was filled with cars on high speed till brt came and caused current traffic. Lagos was really cool. Then I left to complete my HND in delta. At first I didn't like the idea of migration, I was always boasting about lagos. When I returned during fashola 2nd tenure I spotted lots of differences. Traffic was hell, dirt all over and the air didn't seem fresh like it used to.
Its was still better then. Now e don worse. Lastma, holdup, abgero(owo da). I hate driving in lagos one day I drove from sheraton to computer Village with a flat tyre. Fear no let me part change am.
Cost of rent is another dimension. I currently live in delta, my rent is 180k for a self contain with lots of cool features (large parking space, fully fenced, water heater, mighty wardrobe and is located in a cool civilised area. Just imagine Maryland with modern houses. If its lagos for a house like that will cost around 360 to 500k.

Any time I visit lagos I always can't wait to leave cuz its a hell hole. Life is complex and expensive. I find it hard to believe its the same lagos u grw up. Person dey lag dey earn pass me but the wahala of Lagos made me look like i earn more than he does. And the traffic is worse. U can't have a flat tyre and have peace of mind. Where I am if u have a flat tyre there's always some passer by thats willing to assist but for lagos just park to receive call (owo da) boys will storm u with threats. Lagos is fuucked
N the shitz goes on...

Lasgidi gave me the exposure, the job, training, contacts and the all round development. It's stressful but my current job as an independent consultant now makes it easier and fun. I don't work for anyone and wakes up at my own time. Moreover, my major clients are in Port Harcourt, Calabar and Abuja, where I travel to work once in a while.

I will be in Lagos till I leave Nigeria later or get political appointment that would take me to my state, Abuja or any of the Nigerian missions abroad. cool

I left like 5 years ago, because of traffic...Too much traffic, and I didn't like the fast pace of the city. I moved to Ibadan to write...I can do what I do anywhere, and Ibadan was just a perfect city to move to...not too far from Lagos, so I can always pop in to see family every now and then.

Ibadan is a lovely city...very accommodating people, very little to no traffic (at least when compared to Lagos), quiet, safe. I still love Lagos though, cos I like to do faji sometimes, and nowhere like Lagos when it comes to having fun. Ibadan is not bad too sha when it comes to nightlife, but it is not Lagos.

Came to Lagos early this year for a 50k job. After tax u have like 48.... left with some sort of accommodation. Cost of living where i stay is extremely high. There is no communism. You will barely receive any help from anyone so long you are a guy. My salary doesn't even last me till third week. Have tendered my resignation letter, just waiting for approval. I prefer getting my hands dirty and being able to save rather than looking like you are financially ok but in actual sense u have nothing. Yeah, I am going back to my city to do my Okada. I know how much i was making from that work before i decided to give this opportunity a shot. By the way, we work Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm. My boss isn't happy, i wish he could understand me from my own perspective. I will remain grateful to him but its time to face Nigeria's reality.
Great mind, which city are you from?

I can bet my balls that state is damnnn overrated

It looks more of a slum....
No coordination...one small state choked by wareys

But when I visited abuja in 2019....o boy I realized that lagos is shit hole.....
Abuja is damnnn organized ....and I also noticed that Edo state is actually very big....Edo north was like forever when I was going to abuja

Depends on the part of Lagos visit. If you'd visited magodo, ikoyi, Lekki peninsula, v.i, VGC, even Ikeja gra, your view about Lagos would change. Stop going to okokomaiko, ajegunle, mushin, bariga and expect to see street like dubai

Lagos always seems like the best place until you step outside of her and realized that you were being fucxked all along.

I implore those living in Lekki, VI and Ikoyi to step outside Lagos for 6 months and I guarantee you that you will not be able to live permanently in Lagos again.

Even with all the money, you can't buy quietness, serene roads with less cars and fresh air available elsewhere.

After aquiring wealth you won't be able to control the noise and chaos that comes from the entire estates neighborhood.

The challenge with Lagosians like us is that we always think people outside Lagos are not doing well when in essence outsiders are mostly doing better with peace of mind.
