Pls when you applied to SLU did you uploaded your financial document?

Hi,

Why don't you indicate interest in any available Graduate Assistant positions at SLU? Ask your graduate cordinator

Bro I'm the guy who sent an email asking how your second interview went. I was glad you replied, and I'm also glad you've not given up on your dreams.

About your question, I do think you should wait for the spring semester. I don't think you would see a school that would provide you with funding at this stage. But you could try Colorado state university pueblo. Send them an email to know if they could still provide funding at this stage if you register.

Also bro, what are your strategies for strengthening your home ties?
mojolajesu:
Hello guys,

Please are there still schools that have applications open where one can still get funding?

Kindly help me reply to this if you have such information

Wow! This is spot on. I sincerely apologize to this community.

I know I have learnt so much and in my little way I have given too. However, my second disappointment really hit me so bad that I am just recovering from it.

Anyways, here is the transcript of my second interview at Abuja

NB: first denial was on Dec 1, 2021
MPOWER Loan funding worth 50k
COA: 45k
Scholarship:3k

Second time, I reduced the Loan to 29k then family funds 16k (reflected on i20)
Had GA also but couldn’t cover for tuition.

VO asked the regular questions of Why are you going to the school, who told you about the school, are you married or engaged, who is sponsoring and all.

After those questions, he paused for a second looked into his system, looked at me again and asked if I have been denied before. I answered yes.

He further asked what has changed. I told him about my finances. The last time I had only the loan funding but this time, my family support came in for my living expenses and the loan for my tuition.

The VO nicely gave me a blue letter.

Well, I didn’t stop there, I pleaded that he tell me what I am not doing right with my application. He was so nice to say “I will advice you work on your Home ties. They are not strong enough.”

I went back to my hotel room battered and shattered.

My advise and what I am working on is to get a full funding before trying again.

I am available to answer questions and clarification about the whole thing.

Thank you.
I'm so sorry to hear this!

Hi,

When I applied to the school, I also indicated interest in their graduate assistant positions. So I sent a separate application for it.
Hello,

Regarding the assistantship position, what are the documents you submitted before securing it? Is there any faculty you contacted after the assistantship position application?

Already checking out the school, but need some heads-up on it going by your experience.

Well, I know about only blue and white. Blue means Deny, white means Accept.

Hello chief,

Thanks for reaching out.

Well, I am not even in a hurry at the moment. Even if na spring, I will go for it.

Concerning the home ties of a thing, the plan is to use employment. That’s like the only hold I can use.

Usually, the US embassy’s explanation for denial is usually home ties even tho it’s something else.

I just feel that I will stand a better chance if I get a full funding. It’s only on that basis that I am applying again.

see the bolded that is what to focus on
if you can answer yes to some or all of the following questions I believe you will pass;

are you working
are you married
do you have children
what does your spouse do
do you and your family have landed properties or own a flourishing business

this is the key to your visa like the VO said.

I went there is my work experience. I even had a letter from my company sef. But all those weren’t considered.

There are quite a number. However, most won't have good scholarships.
Na Fall 2023 sure pass if you're looking for scholarships

Naijablackboy:
Please do you know of any that's still open for applications, I've done my research and seen a couple. But more alternatives won't be bad
Thanks

I'm already discouraged about this MPower Financing of a thing. And that's what I'm planning to go with, but seeing all these negative results of this loan I'm not sure I'm going with it again.

Two of my friends were denied via this MPower Financing as well. Don't know why consulate hate this Financing for Nigerian students.

Hello gurus,

Pls assist me, it's possible this question has been asked and answered, pls pardon if it has Biko.

With the current Incessant ASUU strike, my son gained admission last year to UNN Chemical engineering, his Waec is very much good.
I want him to look for University he can apply to for scholarship either fully funded or half or none.

I made an enquiry to the proprietor of the lesson he was attending before he gained admission if they have any particular plan in place for such undergraduate that are at home as a result of the Strike, he said no. But
he suggested foreign Exams like SAT.
To study in the US or Canada.
Please advise me on which of these listed he should write ( (SAT is 65k, IELTS is 80k , TOEFL is 120k)

Thanking you very much

Studying abroad is a very expensive and peculiar journey. You should make up your mind to spend a lot of money in your #AbroadRuns.

If money isn’t an obstacle for you, you should definitely look towards the UK. I think the only credentials you to gain admission need are IELTS and a WAEC result.

If money isn’t an obstacle and you want a quicker and surer root to PR, you should go for Canada. You’ll need IELTS, I think.

If you’re looking for any sort of scholarships, partial or full, you should look towards the US. You’ll need to write SAT tho.

Please take my advice with a grain of salt.

I have seen a guy here that got his VISA through MPOWER loan. I guess he was lucky tho he combined substantial partial scholarship plus the loan to cover the remaining.

I have been denied twice using the loan plus family funds.

I wouldn’t advise anyone to use Loan sincerely. Especially from this part of the world, It’s not a sure way.
