Advice too much i'm sure op will be confused as to which advice to adhere to. For me i won't advice you leave your job for now. Try Uber /bolt on weekend and your free times to support the family and save from your salary

My little advice!
Sell the car and invest the money in FinAfrica and continue your job and save again to buy another car while your investment is growing.
Then resign and go make money.
Fear remains our worst obstacle.

True. My life chanted after resigning from my then bank job.

Fear remains our worst enemy

my brother please don't resign yet, bolt driving is not easy as people painted it, it is stressful, not profitable as people doing it now plenty and its wears cars faster.

keep doing your banking job and engage in bolt driving weekends and public holidays, I know you need rest, you can rest on Saturday morning till 6pm, from 6pm till 10pm you can make reasonable amount and on sunday you work 9am till 8pm or rest in the morning and work 4pm til 8pm.

you can see from my analysis that I was specific in the timing to be evening because that is when you can make enough money because there will be surge that time. talking from experience with that your car will serve you and you will be able to save enough while your salary is still going one side.

the country we are not doesn't support one income you just have to be multi-tasking.

this is the little advise I can you ,I hope you will find it reasonable and make use of it.

I wish you all the best

So I'm a graduate of civil engineering, but work as a contract staff in a bank for over 5years with 100k salary.

I bought a functional car which fit into bolt but I'm scared of resigning from my job as I have family responsibilities.

This bank work doesn't give me opportunity to grow with them and time to do other side hustle and I know one day it's either they sack me or I leave.(but one must happen)

Please I need advice if I should still continue this work or start street hustle.

Note: I save the money for this car from salary and side hustle base on what I studied in school.

There's hardly room for growth as a contract staff. Bolt seems like a better option. Given your car for hire ourchase might not work well because it will be excuses and repairs. Besides, no one can take care of your car like you.

You have been on the same spot for five years. I know how the bank can be especially if you are in operations. No time to even attend other interviews or grow. It's like you are trapped. I hope you make the right choice

Don't resign.

I know the work is very stressful and monotonous.

One day, one day they will ask you to go. Some 10 or 15 years they will ask you to go and they will employ younger hands.

Save, save save.

That your car, mechanic can make you lose it and you return to square one.

Really, maybe everyone has different stories.

i know someone who started as a contract staff doing sales with the Defunct oceanic bank, met his target, became a full time staff, moved to UBA, his means of moving forward in the industry has been the method i described above, the last time we spoke, he was a commercial manager.

He was converted.

It's a rare opportunity.

Retain you bank work while seeking for better oppurtunities aside bolt driving.. it's only sweet on paper and words..

- If you give the car out on HP, the car would die within 6mths without adequate returns..

- Your bank work gives you contacts and good network to meeting certain caliber of people..

- cab driving kills your self confidence as a young graduate whom have been oppurtuned to work in an office environment.

- To raise 100k on driving monthly would drain you totally out and when you check in a few months, you would find out you have grown poorer.

- if your job could afford you a comfortable car, it can afford you more with consistency and discipline.

This is the best advice from an experienced person..

Have you made such before in PH? No conjectures, op needs facts backed by figures. As it stands, the most lucrative city for e-hailing is still Lagos.
Even in Lagos 100k/week is still a tall order.

1.stick with your job.
2.Drive on weekends, don't give your car out on rental or HP

Yes, and I know bolt drivers in ph who earn over 100k weekly

Good evening Landers.

I have finally resign from the banking job and I am very happy now with my earnings and freedom.

For me to resign I had to work as Bolt driver everyday I close from the bank and work till 10pm and worked all through the weekend, with this I was able to save 1million in short period of time and got loan of 1.5 to get another car.

So now my monthly savings after other expenses is 200k which I plan to pay back the loan in six month starting form this month.

I only work from Wednesday to Sunday every week.
Thanks for all the support from here, other contract staff bankers especially men reading this post should look for exits root immediately as there is no future in the banking industry for us as a polytechnic graduates.

I agree, poverty will always remain poverty, be it illusionary or not. So I really hope your new job will not be limiting your freedom this much. My brother says that he is not ready for sweating system in the U.S. or India and he wants to go now and find a job in the Middle East. He thinks that this kind of employment system, as well as climatic and time-bound conditions are closer to his mindset.
