peacefulhome:This kind of make me feel sad. I don't know who to blame, the owner of the car or the driver. Regardless of not being privilege to the terms binding them, I think walking away should be part of the contract, sighting force majeure as ground to walk away. 40k from Monday to Thursday is not feasible. The contract pollutesm and provoke the tot, I don't even want to analyse if there's any positive side to it. Please if you can talk the man out, save his soul. |

pope191:I don't know how to do such oh. His an old school mate of my husband. They just got connected few months back so you can imagine. Do you know that the partner almost gave out the car to another driver two weeks ago . If not for God . The new driver came to sign documents for hire purchase 3 million ( same car oh) . Only for him to first request to drive the car around to check . When he saw the car , he told the partner straight alway that he can't drive this car because he knew the previous driver and the driver never told him he had dropped the car. The partner then asked so you know so so person? That was how we got to know the evil this idiot was up to. Police was involved before he allowed the guy to make use of the car. I was told his Making effort to get a bank pay off for him while he pays radually to the bank. Now my question is this, will that solve the issue? Will it not get more complicated going such route? |

peacefulhome:Depends on how much he is getting from d bank to pay off the HP. He can comfortably pay 140k per month to d bank if the car is with him 247. Dat partner has wicked intentions of collecting down payment and weekly rentals for a while and end up collecting the car back from the driver cos those conditions will make it difficult for the driver to meet up except they are neighbors. |

peacefulhome:The dashboard warriors are the ones creating problem for such guys. His lord lugard has heard that the business is so lucrative at 200k-plus every week That is why uber bolt has refused to raise fares and Indrive actually slashed theirs by 25% even as inflation has increased prices of everything by at least 50% They are getting ready for another dashboard festival as we speak...inferiority complex is a terrible thing |

peacefulhome:The way you're talking it's very obvious that you have never run a business before in Nigeria. Dem never show you pepper before! The reason you're taking sides with the man is cos he's your husband's friend; try and be objective by putting yourself in the shoes of the owner of the Uber car. Do you know if he borrowed money to buy it and his creditors are on his neck to make payment? With your kind of mindset I strongly advise that you remain in paid employment cos if you ever decide to run a business with your soft mentality in Nigeria that business will not go beyond 5 months before your employees steal you blind! |

ksmart027:If you read the post you would have seen that the car was never anything tokunbo, I pity this driver. The thing is there a lot of crazy agreements out there and the unwary and desperate ones go for them only to default and lose everything las las. I don't what is stopping the owner from driving the vehicle since he's not doing anything for now so he can keep everything for himself. I always have this fear of driving for owners who don't have other source of income that basically depends on the car to survive or those who always behave as if thier lives depends on the car, wahala wear trouble as cloth. |

Couple of weeks back I was driving a customer's car to workshop, a Lexus ES 350 and I was to drive from aguda through Sanya bustop along mile 2 express. Coming out of Sanya bus stop you will burst out into a service lane before connecting to the highway. Omo coming out they blocked the service lane due to construction and we were told to drive facing one way to connect the highway around coker, almost getting to the point of turning into the highway naso some wacko in plain clothe start to dey block all the cars turning into the highway say we passed one way. After dragging sha dem drive our cars to oshodi lastma office. Me just dey reason the guy make him no drive my car enter compound. He say na 100k him go collect last. After every dem drive am enter. I tried reasoning this guy he still dey form James bond. I decided to fall back on the last resort by calling someone within the ranks and file to please follow dem reason only for me to understand say na bloody police cabash me enter lastma wahala. After enough back and forth, the lastma guy I called asked me to look for the GDO on duty within the compound and give him the phone, upon all dem no allow me see am or enter sef. Last last I cough out 50k to pay one lastma guy to release my car, after paying and collecting gate pass too, the guy asked for cars plate number I told him I don't have the idea say na customer car, the guy man come reason me like say e dey pity me. After giving me the car he asked me to park close to the gate that he will like to refund me some cash out of the 50k I dey tell dis man make him no worry. But he insist, after like few minutes like 6 of dem come out come dey ask me who owns the car blabla say dem go put the car on the lastma platform say I pass one way, in the process my phone rang and it was the lastma guy asking me how far, as I dey explain give the guy say na 50k I pay one of dem collect phone for my hand put am for speaker dey threaten the guy say I dey form say I know people say na dem seize the car. The man just asked them to identify themselves say him na blabla so so... Naso the lastma guy among them just collect phone acknowledge the man identity, tell the other guys say na their Oga dey talk omo all of them just chill he spoke with him and told him say I pass one way and I don pay dem 50k to bail the car, even after explaining say na road construction make me pass the one way. The left with phone to speak with the Oga privately after a few moment dey returned with my phone hand me my phone, the car key, and return hmmm cash k and asked me to call the man back and tell him dem return some cash and dem don release me. After that we come turn padi again, say make I no vex say e be as e be. Exchange number again. In all everything is all about patience with these people most them don't even understand the laws or what is guiding it. It was there I understand that if your car stops or you even park somewhere that says no parking you still have grace of few minutes before they can ticket you but seriously no law is working in these part of the world. Many things dey I no fit disclose here |

SavageResponse:You see what we are talking about, I guess you're the partner in question. Why don't you drive it yourself to be on the safe side since you borrowed money to buy the car? Besides after following this thread all these while you still went ahead to borrow money to buy a Nigerian used car so u can enslave somebody's son, because you heard there's money in it? The same pitfalls moove and the rest are falling into, they started from 2014/2015 Corollas only to switch to innoson when it didn't work, then to Suzukis now even big daddy. Maybe tomorrow they will switch to korope, all these because they fail to learn the business and want to do thier thing base on paper work. |

peacefulhome:This is a very complicated situation. Even if you find a way to make him drop the car, do you have a car for him? I would have say you should talk to your oga, let him be the one to talk to his friend and make him see reason why this thing can't work. Before going that far, you need to understand how much he has paid, balance left, the current condition of the car and what's the bank deal like. |
