People get fixated on the irrelevant and miss the substance. Does it matter if I celebrate my birthday on it's actual day when it falls on a Monday or I celebrate it on the weekend following?
What matters to me would be that my friends and well wishers come to celebrate my birthday with me.
We know that the Roman empire reordered dates and events when they held sway. Same was done when the British empire held sway. Even Sunday as we see it wasn't the sabbath day but we recognise it as a day of worship and rest.

The Jewish day begins and ends at sundown, as in, the time in the evening when the sun disappears or daylight fades.

Jesus was on the cross by 9:00am Thursday morning, died by 3:00pm Thursday afternoon and was buried on same Thursday day before sundown

So, Jesus was, in fact, crucified on Thursday, and never a Friday

Repeating that the Jewish day starts at sundown or nightfall of the previous evening, and continues throughout the night and following day, until the next night.

Thursday day to Thursday night:
Jesus was on the cross by 9:00am, died by 3:00pm and off the cross before sundown so 1 Day and 1 Night

Friday morning to Friday night day:
1 Day and 1 Night

Saturday morning to Saturday night:
1 Day and 1 Night (i.e. Jesus rosed before sunrise on Sunday)
