Text book ideas. Who are the people that will be behind the interim govt and midwives the new constitution? Nigerians or Angels? Whom do you trust to do that job?

So after making billions from PDP enough to open a university this old man want us to suspend Nigeria and bring old men like him on board for a six month jamboree...no be mumu be that?

Why suspending election for new constitution? When the interim government get there they will also work for their own personal interest.

Afe Babalola should stop promoting anarchy. If he wants to advocate for constitutional change it can be done within the space of a legitimate administration. This is not military rule where leaders can set up any kind of government at their own whims and caprices. Nigeria's democracy is growing albeit- slowly. The circumstances of 2015 are different from 2019 and 2023. In 2015 the tension was much because it was North Vs South and 2019 it was North Vs North and the pressure was calm but next year it will be South Vs South (if PDP don't loseguard) so he should allow the slow and steady threading of our democracy continue with time things will sort themselves out.

If we decide to throw away this constitution and work on a new constitution, 6 months won't even be enough. I doubt we won't all go our different ways sef cause we will never agree on the new constitution.

Me too. In fact, all my talk here is mainly about restructuring and regionalism because I genuinely believe Nigeria must adapt/reform or die. Literally.

Good as his suggestion is, the reality is that elections will hold next year as it is big and very profitable business for many.

Also, we simply do not have enough selfless and pro-Nigerian political patriots who will subscribe to Babalola's suggestion.

Best we can do is work for the emergence of a President whose career shows a dedication to brave and uncompromising reforms and innovation.

I am glad Babalola came forward with this as we need more 'awakening' of the consciousness of the average Nigerian.

When all Nigerians begin speaking as Babalola has done then the next President will know his first task must be to depart from Buhari's destructive rigidity to deliver reforms that will rescue Nigeria from total collapse asap.

Babalola is already over 80years so he deserves to be pardoned for whatever thrash that may come from him.

Bad idea!
Adopting such an idea would exclude many states and majority of Nigerians from having their voice heard in the running of the country. But I would accept part time lawmakers because full time legislators is too expensive and it is draining the country resources. Furthermore, it is not so much about the system of government. The problem is Nigerian lawmakers came into the system to steal money and not to make lives better for the average Nigerians. That is why I will support any idea to get rid of them.

Get rid of law and give all the power to the executives? Funny things I read here. Without those law makers you love to denigrate, Buhari would have sold us all into oblivion and gave his marauding kinsmen overthrow the last long-suffering sane person.

An interim government is unknown to law, so it will be treated exactly like the Shonekan experiment - declared null and void by the courts. And subsequently, the military will be justified to take over.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has described as the “vituperations of a prodigal son without agenda”, the comments of a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant, Hon Ladi Adebutu, in a video circulated on the social media on Monday morning.

In a statement issued in Abeokuta on Monday and signed by the Assistant State Publicity Secretary of APC, Mrs.Olusola Ogunsanya, the party remarked that “Hon. Adedibu has no agenda, no programme, no manifesto other than to abuse the occupant of the same office he dreams to occupy.”

The statement read in part: “It is unfortunate if Hon. Ladi Adebutu is the best that PDP can offer for governorship of Ogun State; and that will be a big insult of the psyche of the state of well educated and enlightened people of the Gateway State”.


“Ladi Adebutu took to the stage to boast of the wealth of his father as if it belongs to him and attempted to turn the unconditional donations made in good spirit by the respected philanthropist, Sir Kessington Adebutu, to a condition for Ogun people to support his moribund ambition”.

“Adebutu has cast his father in bad light by tainting the old man’s humanitarian gestures as political Greek gifts; even as he continued to waste the father’s resources like a prodigal son that he is”.

“Our advice is that Adebutu should grow up and tell the Ogun people what his plans for them are, if he has any. His campaign should go beyond abuses and touting of his father’s wealth as if his father is the only rich man or the richest man in the world”.

“Anyway, the people of Ogun had rejected Ladi Adebutu, who could not even win his party ticket in the last governorship primary election of PDP, and will continue to reject him and what he represents”

We shouldn’t have a military coup with soldiers Ruling for six months while the suggested constitution is put in place. I fully support allowances instead of salaries and humongous perks. Each legislator should be entitled to one million Naira annually as allowances, transport and welfare to Abuja for the five sittings in the year in a unicameral house. Politics will be left for the serious minded. If we are serious about running a good country that’s the way to go.

The Age Question: Any person who contests for President must not be more than 51 years as not to exceed 60 years at the conclusion of his second tenure; if he becomes President, he must retire his post if he attains the age of 60 years before the end of his first tenure, and must not contest for a second tenure, if he attains the age of 60 years as a President within his first tenure.or the tenure must be truncated to two years rather than four years as to grant the latitude to accomodate those close to 60 years, if he wins an election. All judicial and pedagogy personnel who have attained the age of 60 years must retire or be summarily executed, and stopped from contributing to the welfare of the Nigerian society because they have attained ''diminishing returns'', as it were.........

The 1999 constitution was drafted by eminent Nigerians at the 1995 constitutional assembly. Members of the assembly were elected by Nigerians. The 1999 constitution was never a military creation.

Eminent indeed. No wonder the constitution has eminently changed the life of Nigerians ever since. If your University education has not done anything to open your eyes( perhaps due to miseducation and lack of exposure) to see that the so called constitution is a scam and that Nigeria is a colony and not a country, then you have indeed wasted your time.
