I think the advert was intentional. Hence, the quote 'He who has never sinned...' instead of an unreserved apology. Anyways, Christianity is a religion of peace. We can only pray for them, that the eyes of their understanding be enlightened.

Let me now calm down and read.

Now I have read. It might be distasteful to some quite alright. But APCON should pumpi jare. It's not as bad as how I had expected it to be before reading. It's more or less a situation of a missed attempt at being funny rather than it being an attempt to be blasphemous.

Modified:

Hope these guys quoting me and saying all sorts also went all ballistic when the Will Smith - Chris Rock saga happened. Cox it's religion now, everyone going haywire. Lol. But then, it seemed right cox everyone was saying it was just a joke and blah blah.

Anyways. Like I said, I don't think the intent was blasphemy. It was just a case of an innocent wrong joke. At least, that's what I can see from the content. I have seen outright blasphemy and this is not it. Nigerians, channel your energy else where!

You are not serious. If it was an inappropriate joke about islam, would you be this dismissive? Some of us take our faith seriously, and it is clear you are not a Christian. Silence would have served you better.

Look up what blasphemy means, Look up examples of blasphemy in the Bible, Look up examples of blasphemy in the secular world, think about the intention behind the post now look at your reaction ?
Consume contents to expand your knowledge not to get annoyed Abeg.

If the first emotion that you had was anger, and then you associated the image with blasphemy. Then my brother you are long gone. Nigeria’s education and economy has failed you. But you also failed yourself.
What intention? There is how far u can go in making jokes, I don't care if its on the Islamic, christianity or the jew side. U should be extra careful and pay special attention when it comes to anything religion. In my little experience reason breaks down in the sight of religion. And that's okay after all we are humans.

If it was your religion, only God knows what would happen by now.
It is a sick mind that will joke in that manner and there is no correct mind in sterling bank to correct the sick joke. They are all sick in that bank.

Because of Jesus', they are forgiven but they should seek the attention of physicians.

Jesus resurrected.......he did not swell up like agege bread.
Swelling up due to the presence of yeast can hardly be Akin to resurrecting from the dead.

Hence using that anology can be perceived as an attempt to downplay, satirise and ridicule the resurrection doctrine.

That cannot be acceptable.

Honestly the Grammar is not necessary.
APCON is useless and Nigerians for the most part are stupid, taxpayers money is spent on this rubbish and naive gullible people are bringing up irrelevant conjectures.
Would you have the same opinion if a Bakery posted this ?
Read about Charlie Hebdo or other actual cases of humor done in bad taste before flexing irrelevant English and inciting unneeded hate.(FWIW it’s Islamophobia for assuming Islam would spill blood for it)

Mehn we at war with our minds, too many misdirected rage in this country. A flyer you should ordinarily just laugh and forget the bad joke.

At the bolded, yes I will. That anology remains a mockery of the foundation of the Christian doctrine....

Do these fanatical people know what a "metaphor" is at all?
Bread "rises" so its just a simple
metaphor NOT an insult.

Go and read up on the meaning
of a metaphor and you'll see it's
harmless. Even the bible is littered with metaphors and allegorical
statements.

Imagine the fanatical and very unprofessional outburst from the so-called APCON boss. APCON is supposed to be a professional body! Sterling Bank should take the case to court if APCON fines them.

From what I have read on this thread many folks have become
religious fanatics who do not
have the love of the Divine in them but practice hate while hiding under the cover of religion!

I even saw a post here where a chap stated that he'll withdraw his money from that bank. Lol.

Africans and Nigerians must receive sense by force or you'll remain at the bottom of global advancement.
Period.

But u people took that mere "cartoon" thingy too serious... So much for receiving sense, promoting Green biosphere, growing trees and global advancement. Mtcheeeew

TRUE. Mohammed (May peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, ) died, just like all things in the world. They will all die, however Allah will not and cannot die not even for a millisecond. Also, you will also die and one day you will rise before Allah for judgement of the things you said, say and did. Including this post.

I can swear the person wrote that advert would never try it with Muslims. All hell will let loose cos forgiveness is a sin to them. He would never try it.

The person who did the advert might even be a Muslim subtly trying to ridicule Christianity and at same time sounding funny.
