Please I got my i-20 since February and my program starts August 6th I have been trying to schedule for early dates.

But none is forth coming I picked September 20 for now but still not favorable. Please how do I get a closer dates?

Me: the school offers graduate internship program during my year of study and I also met all the school requirements.
V.O : do you have any close relatives in the US
Me : No, but am in contact with my course advisor, I already made plans with her about my hostel accommodation and other necessary arrangements.
V.O : I'm seeing family funds. Who is sponsoring you?
Me : my dad is my sponsor
V.O : he is the chief financial controller of ***Automobile they have branches in lagos, port Harcourt and here in Abuja.
V.O : where do you work?
Me : **** real estate limited. I supervise building, make sure the masons adhere to instructions. I write reports for stakeholders etc....
V.O : what are your plans after your degree
Me: After my studies I will be coming back to Nigeria to take up a role as a senior engineer In my current place of work and I have future plane of opening my own firm in nigeria.
V.0 : your visa is approved passes me the white paper. I didn't hear what he said next

Tips*
- Fill your DS 160 yourself and remember what you filled in
- be bold and confident.
- look in the visa officer eye while talking
- prepare and pray alot.
- read transcripts alot. I read so many transcripts here.
- watch argo videos on YouTube.
- Do mock interviews

Please should i schedule for the available date which is April 2023 and wait for a closer available date to reschedule? Please really need help with the right procedure. Thanks

Answers to your questions can be found on the Visa page.
1. You can't schedule a date without paying visa fee.
2. Each applicant going for interview will pay visa fee
3. You can pick a date and reschedule twice
4. You can fill your DS 160 now or before 72hrs to interview date.
5. You pay visa fee together (like same time different slips) and schedule appointment together. When you are ready to apply for a date, you will see instructions to add if you are traveling alone or not.

You can reschedule if you see an earlier date.

Hi guys, Good job to everyone that has contributed. Pls earlier this month we heard Lagos isn't giving responses for Emergency Appointment dates booked, I would like to ask if their request are now been attended to. And if anyone has recently gotten an EA date from Lagos.
Who has recently applied to Lagos for EA and was approved to kindly share.
I believe more dates would still come for intending students.

Apply to the available dates and reschedule when closer dates show or better apply for EA. If you having your interview in Abuja, your EA request will be granted asap, kinda faster in Abuja than Lagos.

Is it okay to select "DOES NOT APPLY" for the National Identification Number because there is a mistake on my NIN data that I am in the process of rectifying and don't know how long that can take.

For university of Lagos transcript you can either apply for students copy of transcript via the student portal. I think the fee is about 1,000 naira. Then for the official transcript you can use records.unilag.edu.ng which is rather straight forward.

I'm not sure if someone has answered this. But i20 is the document that shows the SEVIS ID and student record which will be used to track the student by the Uscis, when she finally arrives in the states.
Let her request for the i20 from the international services of her school, this can be gotten via email (usually within days, depending on the workload and efficacy of the personnel). After she gets the i20, she should meticulously go through the documents (especially the financial aspect) to ensure there are no errors. She can proceed to pay for her sevis fee using the SEVIS id usually at the top of the i20. And also use it in applying for visa date on the cgi portal.

Then if you're in Lagos you can go to the school. ASUU strike doesn't affect non teaching staff.
