Nobody is talking about Teesside this time around why��� but in all fairness they bleeped up last year but to all deferred from January to sept that av POF available as adviced by them when they sent the deferred mail january 20th 2022. It was stated that ur pof should be ready and those who have their pof av already gotten their CAS since first week of April including myself. I kind of even prefer this deferred one self bcs everything seems easy even to do Biometric too was as easy as buyimg agege bread wt agoyi beans

It's just simple university requirements, even back home you take jamb, some university you still have to take another exams to get in, or seek admissions in other schools that don't require that if you don't want to take another exams after having taken jamb.

Okay! I have replied to your pm. Since schools are on strike, the letter must not necessarily come from exam and records( since they are on strike) . You can get the letter from your HOD, a senior lecturer/ junior lecturer or Dean from your department as long as the letter has stamp and letterhead

When I chatted a professor in my department through WhatsApp ( though I’m closed to him and he knows me well), he advised me not to use his own letter since a letter from HOD has more weight reason, being Head of Department but I told him it doesn’t mean that I’ll make use of his own letter since I can easily get his own letter immediately all what the school want is just an evidence that I was taught in English language. I got mine few hrs after I spoke with him


Summary of all I have said is, anyone can get his or her letter from any lecturer in your school( department) that you know well instead of traveling down to school.

They care less about stamps. The screenshot attached in the last page says it all. What makes any statement authentic to them is when they'll directly contact your bank to comfirm the genuiness of the account and the sitting balance.

So, stamp doesn't connote authenticity.

Quite true, they make millions of pounds from applicants all around the world on proceeds from IELTS tests.

But let's look at ourselves internally, pidgin is the mainstream language here at home. You visit most corporate offices and all you hear when staff members converse with themselves is either the local language of that town or pidgin English. I
Frankly, it's fast becoming rare to hear people speak official English language in corporate settings.

Away from that, most applicants do not truly impress the admissions team with their SOPs. And when they consider this and compare it with wide study gaps, they'll want you to take the test - just to be sure. And let's be frank with ourselves, 90% of the students that are asked to sit for an English proficiency test end up turning away from the school (mostly because they have/are expecting offers from other schools that won't demand for it). And for this school, you'll end up creating an impression that will make them consider you to be unsure of your prowess in English language.

This is the catch - the more we keeping making them develop this mindset about us, the more applicants will be required to sit for the test. Imagine in 2 years from now, if all UK school demand for the test from all Nigerian applicants, won't we become bent to go for it, or shift our japa runs to other countries?

This is my opinion.

It's their loss...at the end of the day schools need money to stay operational unless they get regular donations...

Nigerians can go to other schools that accept more than 2 decades of being taught in English as enough proof of english Lang proficiency ....

What's even more annoying is saying proficiency in English expires...

Edwosa, Let me give you an idea of what BRP is so that you can Move on. I am not an expert sha.
So when your visa is approved, you Qualify for a residence permit to stay in the UK during the duration of your course and a little extra, But this permit is not given to you until you arrive in the UK... But you will be given a Visa, that i also hear them call a vignette, to enter the UK, this visa will be valid for a short period. that is the one that will be on your passport. so when you arrive, you can now enroll and Pick up your BRP , Hope it is not the Biometric that is confusing you, It is just a residence permit that has been prepared by the biometric information you summited at the VAC. Biometric information means (Finger print and face capture.)
If i do mistake, make una correct me, those of una wey don collect VISA and enter UK.
