TWITTING is very correct. Stop assuming he meant TWEETING simply because both words sound the same.

Contextually the term TWITTING ON WHATSAPP is very correct

Twitting is for twitter as chatting is for WhatsApp. Doesn't matter what you think dictionary says.

Tinubu has lost touch with reality

CHATTING is a generic act which can be done via any means be it written or orally.

Chatting is not an exclusive preserve to Whatsapp. How did you guys manage to pass through school with these abysmal levels of intelligence for God's sake? undecided

TWEETING is for Twitter and not TWITTING.

TWITTING is a generic term for BANTER.

All these old men are out of touch with the technology of this modern age and don't understand how it works. They just pay thousands of jobless 'yoots' to defend them all over social media.

Nigeria has a very young population who are being ruled by old men who don't understand them nor understand this generation. I am afraid the cycle will continue thanks to the wealth they have acquired (legally or illegally) to continue influencing the political sphere.
The only reason some youths follow politicians is because they are jobless. I think 2023 will be different, because 'following' will not mean voting them.

Re: The Moment Tinubu Said 'Tweeting On WhatsApp' (Video) by DesChyko: 11:45am On Apr 21, 2022
Igbofam:

Wrong.

If you are talking about TWITTER the apt word is TWEETING but if we are talking about simply playfully taunting and having fun conversations via ANY MEDIUM OF COMMUNICATION Then the word is TWITTING (TO TWIT) NOT TWEET

See the attached and notice that LEXICO clearly differentiated both.

First is TWIT
Second is TWEET

Get educated!

God forbid it if it's the kind of education you're flaunting here. The appropriate vocabulary associated with social media is tweet. Tinubu got it wrong and quite frankly, with the quality of English he speaks currently, you can't expect anything less. Period.

You're practically forcing a mostly negative word like twit (blame, reproach, taunt) to fit into friendly terms and ordinarily àssociated with social media. Who are you fooling? Step of your pathetic high horse

How could a word whose antonyms (opposite) are as follows be a mostly friendly word?

You can even look up its etymology (origin) and stop this ruse.
