5 Reasons Why You Don't Get Jobs From Previous Clients. by Viviella(f): 2:44pm On Apr 21, 2022
Every business has its ups and downs and freelancing is not exempted.

One such downside is not getting repeat jobs

Here are 5 Reasons for it

1. Poor quality of jobs: Yes, it is very easy to give your client what they want.

Also, there are millions of freelancers out there who can do the exact thing you have done.

And your client can also move on to them when there is another job.

But when you go the extra mile of adding what is needed but wasn't asked for, you will be the first to come to mind when there is a new job.

2. Not meeting your deadline: Landing a gig is not a problem, but finishing and turning in the gig as when due is one of the biggest challenges for most freelancers.

You can tackle this by placing your priorities right every time.

3. Ignoring Emails: As a freelancer, it is a known fact that most of your gigs land as emails in your inbox, but you will always choose not to check them.

Clients, on the other hand, don't have much time to wait for when you're ready to respond.

Make it a habit to check your email at least twice daily.

4. Not Attending Revision Request: As a freelancer, you are expected to be open for revision not just to correct a mistake, but to refurbish the work.

However, if you choose not to, don't expect the client to call you for another gig.

5. Lack of Follow-Ups: Follow-ups account for 80% of repeat jobs.

When you don't do it, clients will move on to the next freelancer.

It doesn't mean that you are good.

Your previous clients don't have time to check mail from 2 months back to reach you.

However, you can always drop your previous clients short emails to know how they are doing.

Remember to finish off the email with a P.S telling them that you are available for more work.

Work on these things and thank me later.

Remember to always unlearn, learn and earn.

See you at the top!

Not over-delivering. Over-delivering on projects induces clients to assume they're paying less for more. This psychological hack ahs always proven to be the backbone of many business enthusiast.

Go the extra mile and see clients doing all they can not to lose your services. Unfortunately this can never happen when we're laid-back.

Hmm.. The points are on point.

However, the most important factor is bribery and corruption on the part of the procurement people. If you don't know how to settle even if your delivery is the best they wont call you again. It's a serious problem from government agencies to private companies.

GUYS IN PROCUREMENT PLEASE TAKE THIS SERIOUS.THIS ARE THE FIRST THINGS MY BOSS TAUGHT ME
Re: 5 Reasons Why You Don't Get Jobs From Previous Clients. by Somebody2020: 1:15pm On Apr 22, 2022
Such is the case of a guy i connected here (naira land). I paid him to design logo for my brother’s new clothing line logo. Each time I told him of my preference he always flare up, he will insult and curse me. Since yesterday he refused to reply to my messages on WhatsApp. This is a guy that was begging me to send the 2k fast and after collecting it he turns himself to God.
One thing I noticed about him is the toxic of nairalander... he love to abuse and curse, rude and disrespectful.
His name is Israel.
If he doesn’t get back to me soonest. I will post our chat for you all to see.
Learn to have a good customer relation. That comes first.

Lmao, Logo for 2k, I'm not surprised. No self respecting designer would accept such peanuts but let me keep quiet. Both of you deserve each other. There's always someone who can do it for cheap.

Let me explain in details.:
You v to agree in Nigeria.
Pricing isn't about value of work alone.
What you charged for N100K can be gotten elsewhere for N50K and it ll be better than yours.
It doesn't mean the N50K designer is classless cos there are numerous designers that ll even charge N200K or more.
It doesn't mean you should sell yourself cheap.
Price is price anywhere.
But you must learn how to bend rules of price cos of Nigerian mentality & economy.
I believe it's so worldwide but Nigeria own is exceptional.

Yes. It happens well in Nigeria, the country of anomalies.
Like I said earlier, the same client that said price is too low ll be shocked when he/she really meet an exorbitant price.
The first thing & the most important thing to look out for in outsourcing a good designer or someone to do job is the packaging/presentation and skills. These re gotten from samples given.
It's not a crime to v a low price. Shebi na you go do the job. But it's scary to see an exorbitant price tag.

such clients that underpay for services deserve more curse and insults. His defense now will be that since the guy accepted the job then he should do it.
