Hi Feisty,

Did you do a covid test before boarding your flight, from Nigeria?

Welcome to Canada, Feisty and WarriBrandChic (forgot to mention earlier)

I got to Germany around 6am, my next flight to Toronto was around 9:30 am, so I checked the screen for the exact gate I’ll board my flight cause it wasn’t really stated on my boarding pass. During this process, I met two Nigerians, a young guy like me who was also going to my school in London Ontario, and an Old man who was trying to find his way. So we decided to move together

Good day fellow Nairalander,

Please who else has experienced that the new portal is no longer working. It just stopped me at employment history and keeps giving error message even after I have filled everything.

Who else has experienced this? Should I just jejely use GCKEY?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by WarriBrandChic: 12:44am On Apr 23, 2022
No it's not required if you are fully vaccinated. Most countries/organisations have relaxed their covid protocol but you can check with your airline.

Thank you so much for responding. I appreciate it!

Hello Lani84,

You don't need to show or demonstrate any POF at the POE. If you intend to, you can have a printed statement in hard copies or as a softcopy on your phone. Note that you should not talk when not spoken to and don't present anything when not asked.

Best of Luck

The new portal doesn't like any gaps when highlighting your employment history. Make sure to account for all the years specified. So for example, if you were unemployed between August 2010 to Feb 2011, indicate "unemployed". You can reach to me if you have any further questions.

Yes, you are required to have a quarantine plan even if you are fully vaccinated. That info is required on when you are filling the ArriveCAN data. You need a place you can quarantine for 14 days in case it is required due to covid19 exposure during your flight to Canada. You are most likely not going to be asked to quarantine unless someone on the flight you arrive in test positive on arrival in Canada. That’s the main reason why they ask you plan for it and report the address you will be staying.

Danikcm:
Please guys, is it mandatory to have a quarantine plan if your fully vaccinated and test negative for covid. Do they border officers ask about your quarantine plan?

Hello everyone, I’m sure we all heard the news today. Please based on this circled part is it ok to do a 1 year course instead of 2?
This is for those already done with studies in Canada and due to the unavailability of ITA have used up their 3years PGWP. It is not for new applicants. So, to be in a safe side go for two years program. Good luck.

During this process, I met two Nigerians, a young guy like me who was also going to my school in London Ontario, and an Old man who was trying to find his way. So we decided to move together

Eventually we found our gate, we had to wait for about 2 hours for the flight to Toronto. When it was 9:20am, we proceeded to Air Canada for our next flight that lasted for 8hours 30mins (Longest 8hours of my life lol)… eventhough , there was good food, drinks, entertainment, etc… I was still tired. Got up so many times to pee sef just to stretch my legs. Forced myself to sleep like three times,….. and eventually we arrived in Toronto airport.

When we got there, I initially thought my study permit will be gotten at my final destination but eventually one of the airport staffs told me I was wrong and I’ll need to get it at Toronto airport.

I proceeded to the self declaration machines to register and all, proceeded to get my study permit. I was only asked for my passport and LOA. The guy was even joking with me and asking me about Naija girls and girlfriends…. Lol anyway, I got my study and work permit.

Proceeded to my next flight to London, had to wait for 4hours, eventually I got to London airport, my luggages that I checked in Lagos were already waiting for me. Picked them up, called my friend, he came to pick me up…. Then we drove to his place.

So far I’ve been adapting, blending, meeting new people, going to stores, paid for my apartment, opened a bank account, gotten a SIM card, gotten my SIN etc…
But na Job I Dey find now.
My classes will commence May 3rd. I look forward to that.

Thank you all for everything, the help and love. I’m grateful to God for bringing me this far.

Lol abeg if anyone has a plug or can help me with getting a job in London Ontario. Kindly let me know, God bless you, thank you

Good day every one..
Canada IRCC anouced yesterday that the will be starting ITA draws by first week of July, I believe this should be a good news because most PR hopeful decided to use the study route thereby, heaping large workload on Nairobi

Hence, I believe Nairobi will start processing study visa within the stipulated time and not the 5-6 months processing time we see currently.

Secondly, for those who may find it difficult getting the enormous POF required for study visa, you can start now to evaluate your credentials and write the necessary exams.
These are the monetary requirements needed:
IELTS: 95k
TEF(optional, mostly for those above 35years or have less than three years experience) : 240k
Additional certificate (BCS): 120k
WES Evaluation: 112k
PCC: 10k
French tutor fees(optional):180k
Medicals: 58k
Total: 818k less than Conestoga tuition deposit.

Post ITA
Application fees: 500k
POF:4.4m
You can ask your friends and family to gift you this.

Lastly, for those still waiting, I pray you get a favourable decision.

Good luck.

You can clearly read the Error.
Portal didn’t stop working.

Just follow the instructionz. Do not leave any period out of the 10 years asked. If you’re jobless for some month/year, state it

Thank you for your response sir. However I’ve tried everything, I have updated work/activity from 2011 till date with no gaps but still same error message. I have been a student all my life, I just finished my BSC and I’m going for my masters immediately. So I chose unemployed from 2011 till date but it’s still same error. Don’t know what to do now.

Good morning and happy weekend house.
I have been in search of any Canadian college that can offer 2 years PGD in any of these Nautical science courses, Marine Navigation Technology or Marine Navigation Management Technology. Nscc offers PGD in Marine Navigation Technology but it's a one year program.
Please if anyone have information about schools that offer any of the above courses or any Navigational related course should kindly assist me.
Please note, Marine engineering is different from Nautical science (Navigation).
God bless you .
