According to data, uk is the 5th global economy in the world coming after US topping the list followed by China, Japan, Germany then UK. I guess that speaks volumes as regards earnings just maybe.

Please what insight do you have regarding getting a mortgage if you have a IVA. Is it possible with all these specialist broker

Yes you can still get a mortgage, but would have to happen with only a specialist broker....... Expect crippling rates and charges........

Would it be worth it....... The borrower decides......

Thanks for the insights...I am guessing this crippling rate would be just for the first term ie, maybe first 2 years and then they would be able to build some good credit and hopefully remortgage on a lower term?

I believe once the IVA conditions are fully satisfied and closed...... Moving on is the best way forward .......

Abeg explain this... is it then better to finish the IVA first. I think this couple plan is to pay the IVA and buy. They now have some good inheritance money from naija, hence the desire to buy and clear the IVA. But what is not clear if they can clear IVA and buy almost immediately

Clear the IVA........

Once IVA is fully satisfied, they would get slightly better rates........

Good day everyone. I'm applying for student visa next year. So I've been reading this thread from scratch. Thanks for all y'all are doing.

Pls my uncle and his wife just got sponsored to the UK. His wife is a nurse. She'll be going first. He is an accountant but want to move into being a scrum master. I am also interested in product management.

Can anyone point us to the best courses to do that are UK accepted. We have a lot here but I'll hate for us to do it and then it would be useless for what we need it for. So pls maybe drop links to certified courses u know ppl have done and scaled into these roles in the UK with. Thank you.

Tell him to Google scrum dot org scrum master certification. Read the scrum guide inside out, use the practice test on the website and ensure to score 100% in three consecutive tries before paying to do the real test. It may not be easy to become a scrum master with accounting background (may be easier to go into Non-tech BA), but he should give it a try and follow loads of scrum masters on LinkedIn to imitate their journeys.

Product manager? It’s the highest level lol, you didn’t even start with product owner that’s less complicated- I like your dreams and wish you well (nothing beyond God).

I hope you get the hint and start with Product owner wink (repeat the steps above).

Is the IVA discharged or almost discharged? If no, it's best to wait till it's within 6 months of being discharged and yes, a specialist broker will be needed. Be prepared for higher than normal interest rates as well.

Burnham on Sea is lovely and very very quiet. Full of mainly retirees so be prepared to have people talk and talk and talk to you. There are few BAME in general. We have holidayed there quite a bit as it's very close to Bristol

I know this question has probably been answered before but I don't remember the page number.
So for ancestors that have travelled to other European countries with their Nigerian passport please help with guidance; if I want to travel to Paris in November, when should I apply for a visa and what I do need to present?(Proof of funds, documents etc)
Thank you.....

Dear Former banker (in Naija).
Thank you for wishing us good luck. We are warriors indeed.
We do not have to depend on our spouses who are Nurses to migrate to the UK.

Yours sincerely,
CareHomeWarriors

Dear Nigerian who obviously suffers from an excess of toxic masculinity,

This comment made my evening. Hilarious.
So as far as you are concerned, your manhood is dependent on who is the principal visa applicant in your pairing, and if na your madam who hold a Tier 2 or Tier 4 students visa and na you dey answer dependant ( which I suspect is probably the case), you would be having high BP per day per day and feeling like a woman and not a man? So all those men whose wives are doing masters here while na dem be dependants don turn to women for your eye, abi?

Be calming down o. Na obodo oyibo you dey and toxic masculinity fit cause wahala for you here o.

As an aside, my madam was working in a bank as well, lost her job, and we decided since her original degree was in the sciences, say she go come UK to do nursing and so forth. So she came, did that, got registered, got a job, and that was that. I'll let you figure out, for "manhood" purposes, who was paying the fees and who maintained the family until she was through with everything. wink

No over-inhale the cleansing foam, my brother. It is well.

Jisike.

You go use TLS here in the UK. Check the French Embassy's website for the form and process.
I know TLS dey Manchester and Edinburgh (I used to live in Manchy and I now live in Edinburgh, so have used both centres) so it depends on where you are. Edinburgh covers all those who live in Scotland.

You can apply up to 6 months before your planned date of travel, and they simply require 3 months' payslips if you're employed, not sure what the requirements are for students, a letter from your school, I would think. A bank statement showing enough funds to cover a planned stay is OK, I think there's a calculation basis of 60 euro per day or something like that. I usually print 3 months worth of bank statements along with the payslips.

The application process is straightforward - Manchester TLS is not, it can be crowded and the staff so-so, Edinburgh is way better.

Housing tie wrapper for Glasgow this period, so unless you've already sorted where you'll stay, check whether one of you go come first to sort that out.
