They also told me how strong men that year could double up their bodies sef. I mean they could be in their room lying down straight like corpses but they are somewhere else attending an occasion or ceremony amongst humans.

You realise everything is made of matter, right? Matter can change states; solid, liquid, gas, plasma. A solid can also be changed into another solid. Isn't there a possibility that some people have mastered how to change their physical state into another? Even ghosts can be the plasma form of previously-living things.
Everything about reality can be warped if you know what you're doing. Even, the mysteries of the human mind (and body) hasn't been fully understood.

The grandfather of my aunt's husband used to change into a lion to guard their village. Unfortunately, he died without being able to pass the mantle down to any of his offspring

Many things I don't still understand on this one:
Some people said what's a 78 year old man doing in the bush at that time? Some said that he was hunting. Good answer, but at 78, he should have retired from hunting at night. Even if he is hunting, hunters have a way of communicating with one another with the head lamp, they signal through other means. Moreover, experienced hunters should know the height of an antelope lest he should human being in the bush. I think the truth is not told.
Again, I won't rule out spiritual manipulation which is possible. This happened in Africa.

You cannot totally blame the hunter or doubt his claim. Some people in the olden days does it. Definitely one cannot rule out the possibility of the chief Immam transforming to antelope. I remember when i was a little boy, and in the village, there was this old woman who do transform into antelope when people had gone to the farm. She (antelope) would enter People's backyard farms, and eat up their okra. The older people about her mysterious other side of life.
