Yes it's possible, it should be your supporting proof of funds and must be explained in your SOP the percentage you can access from your pension.

It will end in praise
waoh! This was not explained in SOP, document was just added.

Hello everyone,

I will really be grateful, for any answers and pointers please.

My question is whether there's anyone on this platform who has gotten admission for a masters degree programme in Canda with a 2:2.

Also if any, were there any issues when you applied for a study visa.
My friend says even if one gets admission with 2:2 degree, such a person may still be refused a study visa.

Study permit has nothing to do with your grade. Try your best to get the admission and come back here for visa application tutorial

It's unfortunate what's going on with ASUU. I'd advise you finish your program then apply for a post graduate program. I'm saying so because there'll be close to a four year gap in your academic profile and that could pose a problem in the evaluation of your application.

However if age is on your side, you can apply to schools without your first degree. With a well detailed study plan you'll be fine in my books.

There are also various factors to consider. You can shoot me a mail so we can discuss about your situation in detail.

@makano @lekiboboe @justmellow @ominni @frankrobon1 @scott99tish @Anon and other gurus. Please I need your sincere advice, I got a PhD admission at Dalhousie university and planning with my spouse and three kids. I am applying with a third party sponsor, my questions:
1. Is it adequate if my sponsor gift me around 12m which is enough to pay my first year tuition and our living expenses.
2. With adding my physical assets valuation document also count.
3. Can I ask my Dad to do deed of gifts to transfer some of his assets to me
4. Can also add my late mum gratuity papers worth 6m as POF.
5. With it be acceptable if I ask my employer (a Fed. College of Education) to provide a study leave for me to provide my home tie.
6. Can I also use my assets and deed of gifts to prove home tie.
7. Is it compulsory to pay tuition before application.
Thanks as I await from professional responses

Dear Osemigho. Dalhousie offered me admission but I am expected to pay program fees for the first one year and a reduced continuing fees for subsequent years. As someone who is on ground, do you consider the offer from Dal a fair deal or should I just reapply to other schools with hope of getting scholarship.
Osemigho:

@Lekiboboe @justmellow @makano @frankrobon1

I hope you applied to other schools.

Hello,

My advise might not really sound cool, but I'll say it. Doing a PhD without funding is Slavery... Yes, it's Slavery. Don't even think of it, especially in developed countries. PhD is purely research, and a lot of cost is embedded in it that's totally different from your tuition. How will someone spend so much, continuously for 4 years, and with wife and 3 kids. Sincerely, it's not advisable at all. Except you have twice of the total cost for four year + research and you don't really mind spending it

No 2. For a married person with 3 kids to use a third party sponsor is almost a straight denial. Because I still don't know what explanation can be given that the VO will not think "applicant is not financially capable"

My sincere advice - take your time to get a fully funded scholarship for your PhD.
