The Portuguese and English colonialist are responsible for your dress codes cos you have no mill anywhere in Ijawland where you produce wrappers, hats or walking sticks. These were introduced to almost every riverine community by the colonialists. Same is obtainable in Ishekiri. Using dress codes as the reason for ijawness is clownish. And saying because you are a fisherman then everyone by the riverside whose occupation is fishing is also a joke as hunting in the forest cannot be used as a yardstick for ethnicity in the uplands.

Why you guys seem so scared to be stand as indepedent ethnicities is quite dubious. The Ogonis are standing alone, same as Itsekiri, Isoko, Ikwerre, Ibibio, Urhobo, bini etc.

Suddenly Egbesu is now more relevant to the Okrikans than their acclaimed Finibeso. So the reverrred Akaso of the Kalabari now plays second fiddle. All because of the Inability and/or fear to stand alone as an independent ethnicity and solicit for relevance in the Nigerian space.

You can hyperventilate all you want but you must accept that the history of attributing any Igbo presence in those marshy areas to slavery is a big lie and no one historian is buying it. Wakirike Island is not the only place in Okrika LGA. In the LGA, there are core Ijaw areas and there are a couple of Igbo areas. There are a good number of mixed communities living happily without rancour. I never claimed all of Okrika to be Igbos and I'll advice you not to claim all of it as Ijaws because is certainly is not true.
