Passport expired over 12yrs ago in my maiden name[b].
What type should I do now as a married applicant? FRESH , CHANGE OF NAME or RENEWAL?
I intend to DIY .

But I could swear that I've done mine in one day back in 2015 October-November. From capturing to booklet issuing, all under 8 hours or less. Thy saw me as one sweet yellow ajebo and I was just getting nudged from one waiting room t the other, with smiles on their faces (elderly staff)

If you meant production process to mean the attachment of each page of the passport together, and the electronic aspect of it too, then no, I didn't meet them doing those. The booklet was already created, but its pages where empty. It was when I came by that the documentation started.
So that's what I meant.

I did mine and got it the same day (yes, it's done) and I paid 25k some years ago. But now it's 30k, with this same guys that I patronised.

Collection, hope you know I can be done by your agent and waybilled through a trusted GIG transport driver.
But yes, capturing will definitely have the coming over.
Oh well, handle it the way you're already handing it. I know it's not easy, but it's well.

I did my capturing over 2 weeks now and am yet to hear from them . I paid 60k for normal price and I was told 100k for expresss here in owerri.
People i asked paid the same . Was told to wait for 2 weeks and is more than that already and I need it urgently for something.

So I called two people today concerning this passport of a thing. Got their contacts from Facebook as they were recommended by friends.

Asaba woman said adults is #40,000 and passport will be out in two months cos no booklets while that of children is #32,000.Called another immigration officer in Yenagoa and he said adults is #35000 and that of children is #32,000. Passport will be out in a month and some weeks.Those of us in Delta State are stuck cos if you DIY, those guys will frustrate you and you end up paying extra #40,000.

Smiles, passport can of course be done and gotten in a day. Through out my experience,

go on the nigerian immigration passport portal, click correction of data due to marriage..fill the form step by step… after completion the system will give you a reference number and then allow you to continue the process to applu for the passport. You wont pay more than the passport fee.

The prices you stated are DIY prices on NIS website but my location BAD.

The wwoman no gree jare. I had to go through her sister. She said if not for her sister, it would have been #45,000 for adults and #40,000 for the children.

If you DIY, they will frustrate you when you go for capturing or collection and you may end up paying extra #40,000 for each passport.

Smiles, warrior 1st son. Anyways the think often is blame on the part of the immigration officers. I take NIN as an example, on a. Normal it should be FREE! like I can remember vividly very well when I did my NIN in 2015 only to be hearing that it now cost #2000 -#4000 and in some instances you are stressed on top of your cash paid (depending on the location(as I've heard). Peeps often use agents for shortcuts and perhaps to serve stress but often times duped. No doubt the DIY is cool but we need to becareful of fraudulent peeps.

Get in touch with the NIN office closest to you for follow up.

Getting an insider in LAG is the best shsot for now. On your passport seized, I don't know your agent route/role which lead to the circumstances but in as much I wanna blame him for your experience I still will hold back words. However I'll advise that rather than wail or get into quarrels with your agent, you should channel that strength on your new passport and n change in your DOB. Honestly it might not be easy but all the best

I have serious issue with my passport ight now and I am confused on how to go about it.

Firstly, sometime end of 2019, I applied for Canada Tourist visa through an agent. Did capturing at the VFS in Lagos alongside passport submission. At the end of the day, I was given a collection slip. I went back to base. After some weeks a notice from the embassy came into my mail telling me that my application was fraudulent, so the agent suggested we cancel the process which I agreed. I waybilled the passport collection slip which was given to me at the VFS to my agent.

Since then, haven't laid hands on my passport. Now, I want to renew and also make a change of data (DoB) as my passport has expired one year ago.

I am putting this here, for the house to give me the best and effective advice on how to go about this in order to save cost and also time.

Again, if I can get a reliable insider from NIS especially in Lagos cos I'm in Lagos currently, I will so much appreciate it.

I don't know your location but I'll say you should try another NIS location closest to you to hear their view or perhaps get to approach an officer in a calm way and talk to them.
Most times this peeps act harsh or strange on us since we often behave like its by POWER. Try talking to an officer and be smart(you should know what I mean, SHINE YOUR EYES)

Plus I have an issue at hand, I did my int passport about 5 years ago , it got expired Dec 2021, I used my hubby surname then ,before we decided to used a compound name.(something like Adewale -Praise,) now I want to renew my passport, they said I can only renew with the surname not the compound name,I have done all documentations concerning the new name, eg newspaper publication, court affidavit, NIN,Bank accounts, experts pls help.what will I do?
Does it entail me to start all over with the Change of name again?

so you don gree . With the hunger in the land, you gree for extra 20-30k per passport. Osanobua. The worst that will happen is that you will have to make multiple trips but you wont spend that amount. You will meet a different person if you will stand for the right thing. Anyway i can not cry more than the bereaved

I have my capturing appointment nextweek (lost passport renewal). After going through this thread and other resources these are the list of documents I've come up with that will be needed.

Copy of lost passport datapage ( I have a soft copy on my phone)
2 passport photographs
Copy of NIN
Letter of application
Printed online form
Appointment slip
Payment receipt
Guarantor form
Birth certificate
Police report


Is there any other document that will be required?

1. How do I confirm if my NIN has been validated?
2. Is appointment slip the same as acknowledgement slip?
3. Can my mum be my guarantor?
4. Do I need to notorize my police report and application letter?
5. Is there a standard format for the application letter or can it be written as I see fit?

I'm a DIY applicant who captured in ikoyi, will be glad to hear the collection experience of both persons who used agents and those in the DIY gang..

Kindly assist clarify if this would not give issue as what i have on all docs from primary sch and on NIN is the same but different from birth cert;

Birth cert has: Sukurat Tope Busari
Other docs including NIN have Busari Shukurat Temitope.

Please assist clarify if it is not an issue or if there is anything i need to do as i am to capture nxt wk in Alausa.

Newspaper is not an issue. You can get it the next day. If you contact them directly is N3,000 ( Leadership Newspaper), Punch, Guardian, may be higher.

Wow ....5 months in ikoyi. I thought lagos was fast, even with DIY. Surprised even non DIY , 50k later and it still 5 months

Does anybody know if they aren't on strike in lagos and which high court I can get it notarized seamlessly in lagos?

You were able to pay twice the official cost of the booklet and still wait for 5 months. Why should 3,000NGN be a problem
