Obi stands a greater chance if the ticket is given to the south. Atiku on the other end might just be one overrated individual that might not scale through the primaries.

Between the two evils, PDP and APC, there's a lesser one, the PDP.
Ordinarily power should return to the South (South East) but for PDP to gain power at the center and recover this already sunk ship it has to allow someone like Atiku to be it's candidate. It is only him for now because of the large followership he has in the vast population of the North, not that he is more competent than Obi. He and Obi can team up and salvage this country together.
Nyesom Wike is good in some aspect of leadership, he is a fearless politician but lacks the civility and too uncouth for someone to preside over a complex entity like Nigeria.

Whatever the case may be, PDP should try and wrestle power from the evil and wicked APC, return the country to the part of economic growth and prosperity. Let those whose life time ambition is to become president be stopped by fire by force because another 8 years of misrule and medical tourism will finally sink this country to an irrecoverable state.

You tell who is fearless when he has zero access to state funds and no longer enjoys immunity. Fayose did more than this but today nko

To wrestle power away from this demonic party, the PDP needs to provide a northern candidate; because the evil party will field in a Southern candidate, and as we all know, politics in 3rd world nations is a game of numbers and not intelligence, if it was base on the latter, the one in Aso Rock will not be sitting there now.

I'm sure you probably have another nairaland account which you use for insulting Politicians and criticise Govt. The question is; how different are you from those you insult and criticise? You're a child of a failed parent and society, it's also ultimately unfortunate that you failed yourself. How convenient is it for you, to openly advertise criminality, what does someone who residents in Nigeria needs Google voice also available (US,UK and Canada) for, if not to perpetrate crime, why do you need an old facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn accounts for, when you can freely open new ones, without hassles, if not for illicit activities?
Think about and repent, so that you can have peace and rest of mind. Ire oooo
Nigeria is a country where we advertise crime n celebrate it,if this guy is arrested now they will start another endsars.

Just imagine someone who isn't a Nigerian seeing this,he will never want to have anything doing with us.

Just imagine n he even put his number

You seem to be new on Nigerian politics.

Obi can't beat Atiku. I mean 'cannot' in block letters.

Jonathan beat Atiku in 2011 due to the deal by Obasanjo, Babangida, Danjuma, Abubakar & co, for a one term Presidency. They thought that four years was short, and that power will return to the North soon enough and they gave in to Obasanjo plea. Obasanjo (and by extension his cohorts) saw Jonathan as weak, and needed him in power to continue servicing his (their) insatiable personal interests.

They were deceived by Jonathan. Did you see how Jonathan was eventually booted in 2015? IBB, Abubakar, Danjuma and Obasanjo (albeit reluctantly) had to go for 'anything but Jonathan. He was practically kicked out of office.

Man for man, Jonathan couldn't have beaten Atiku. Who be Obi? People don't become president after winning party primaries. Parties go for their surest bet. Atiku, as far as the PDP is concerned, is her surest bet. Has Wike not started calming down? He thought it was child's play.

Even Obi knows this, hence he tagged along with Atiku's presidential declaration, by his attendance of the event. Did Atiku attend his (Obi's) presidential declaration event? Obi only declared to save face in the Southeast. He didn't want to appear as a betrayal before his people, whose vast majority are calling for an Igbo presidency. He obviously discussed his declaration with Atiku for his approval. Let me ask you: between Atiku and Obi who declared first? Who attended the other's declaration?

The battle line is drawn between who and who? Peter Obi is Atiku's major contender? Seriously!? With the likes of Chief Wike, Saraki, and Tambuwal? Peter Obi that was Atiku's running mate? Can we just keep our emotions aside and deal with Nigeria's politics for what it is?

Obi might be sound in all or some aspects of governance, but will he give Atiku a run for his money? Hell no!

In another news, no popular politician living today, can cure Nigeria of its malady. Our wahala is deep! Our wahala is beyond the economy.

In fact, NAIRALAND is a true reflection of what the Nigerian society is.

It's crystal clear that Peter Obi so far is the best candidate in PDP now, but giving Peter Obi ticket is one thing, then Peter Obi winning the presidential election is another thing which is the most important thing. Though I'm an Igbo man but Pdp should give the ticket to a northerner so as to stand a chance of getting back power from these demons in Apc. Wike or Peter Obi cannot get enough votes in the north to win the presidential election but Atiku or Tambuwal can.

Which Peter Obi? Peter Obi won't get upto 10 votes. Northerners won't vote him, West and South South won't vote him and his Igbo Brothers will never vote him. It is history that, Igbo People have never voted their own, when the contest is between one of theirs and an outsider. They will rather vote the outsider.

I laugh at southerners ...you think voting is online? Who is Obi who knows him? The north wil always decide the president! And Obi and his likes in the south are irrelevant here....keep fooling yourselves online..PDP will LOSE if it gives its ticket to any zone with a lower voting strength. Politics is a game of numbers, not sentiments

The north would not always decide the president. Don't be a fool. No region can alone produce the president.

Besides you have no shame. You come online to tell the world that you are irrelevant in your country. By saying "the north decides", you confirm that you, family and your ethnic group are slaves to the north. You should be ashamed of yourself to tell the world that you are slaves to the north. Useless boy.

Pdp to return Nigeria to the path of economic growth the way they left it when they were borrowing to pay salaries in the midst of plenty, when barrels of crude were being sold above $100. PDP is not a better alternative to APC. They will bury Nigeria completely this time around if voted for

It will be difficult for the next generation if we including the delegates fail to elect the most credible candidate in the PDP primary and the general election.
Judging from his personality Peter Obi has proven beyond every reasonable doubt that he is capable and competent and only him has what it takes to get Nigeria working again.

If out of greediness, love for money , tribalism, religion and sentiments the delegates decides to chose any other person rather than Obi then let's be rest assure that Nigerians are not yet ready for the truth and they are all enjoying this misfortunes that have befallen us as a nation.

Let it be on record that I made my points clear on the African biggest forum Nairaland. Hear me louder Nigerian youths and the elderly ones " failure to elect His excellency Peter Obi will the the greatest calamity and catastrophe that will befall Nigerian. The effect will be worse than the war any nation have witnessed on this planet earth.
Those that buys your votes with money will still use your head and your future as a compensation for what they spend.
Let's be wise for once, wisdom is profitable to direct.

Truth be told, Obi is not in the race. He is only interested in running as Atiku's Vp. He has even made it clear that he's not ready to give a dime to any delegate, and we all know that Vp candidates don't need to spend money on delegates.
Anyway, I deal on keys and padlocks and my location is Onitsha.

They were borrowing to pay salaries you say yet a bag of rice then was 8,700 naira against 36,000. They borrowed yet prices of goods and services weren't this way. Dollar was 127 naira. Petrol was 87 naira etc. We weren't the world poverty capital. Nigeria wasn't sold to China. We were able to access any loan from any country and financial institutions rather than what APC government have reduced Nigeria to. Nigeria has been sold to China such that no country and financial institutions agree to give us loan facilities again.

Oga, please I will suggest you go back to Congo Kinshasa where you are coming from because it's very obvious you are a total stranger to this country.

Re: 2023 Presidency: Atiku Divides PDP Governors by kelly72: 9:24am On May 07, 2022
Peter Obi is the best PDP aspirant going into the 2023 presidential primaries. But if PDP really wants to be sworn in in 2023, they must sacrifice Obi in favour of Atiku Abubakar, that is pragmatism over idealism.

APC is not fielding Buhari again and nobody in that party can boast of Buhari's popularity in the North, so they are praying and fasting that PDP doesn't choose Atiku. They know that in the absence of Buhari on the ballot, the North is a clean sweep for Atiku, so also SE and SS.
Remember again that APC personified themselves as failure for 8 years.

Obi is 61 and needs a little more time to make more political in-road into the North. Being VP between 2023 and 2027 can get the North well attuned to his brand of politics as they stand to benefit even more from his contributions to economic policy.
