I remember years ago when i was warning ChristineC about the danger of awarding huge salaries like Udoji to players who were still developing, she said those salaries were in line with United's status as a big and profitable club.

Rooney saw the direction the club was heading towards way back in 2010 when he asked that the club allow him to leave, but the fans didn't understand what was going on then. The rot did not start suddenly in 2013 when SAF retired.
