Decided to come back to this thread and discovered people are legitly teaching python in the thread, great!!!

There's this book, the python workbook, which contains lots of python questions that are actually needed for the learning, ranging from simple to complex.

So back to the thread, @Ejiod, Thanks Boss, I was studying Biochemistry and in my final year when I came across this thread, I was learning but taking it at a slow pace then, a very slow pace. But after following through, took it as my main job to excel in python, I currently work for a company remotely plus a lot of other things, and I have met wonderful individuals while at it. Thanks again.

hello boss, I am still in the early stage of python. Kindly assist with this.
Write a scrite called double.py that takes and integer and double it, then use the double() function inside a loop and double the the figure 2 three times.
Output should look like:
4
8
16
I have written the function but can't seens to get the right loop, I am getting
2
4
6 and
4
4
4

you are only doubling the first one and returning it 3 times.

like in the image, write the function and pass an array into it.

or you could put n*n if you want to.

Pick one! Have a set path and work towards it. If you don't have a background in computer science, mathematics or engineering I'd advise you go with software development. It's more accommodating to self taught individuals. Most data science jobs are not entry level, they usually require a bachelor's degree or even an MSC
I highly appreciate this information. I've started with software engineering

Hello pls between python and R, which is best for a data scientist, I'm focusing heavily on statistics cos that's what my course entails.. I've started out python and I'm enjoying it but was told R is the best for statisticians

I haven't used R before but imo I don't think there's anything R can do exclusively that Python can't.
Python has an edge as you can still use it if you decide to indulge in other things aside statistics.

The was my reason for choosing python.. Thanks for the insight

The topic about which is better between R and Python is an oft discussed one. But the general consensus is that one is not better than the other. You heard right. R is very suited for statisticians. In fact, if you are going to be doing mostly statistical analysis, R should be your go- to language. Python can simply not do the things R would do for you in one line of code. However, if you are going to be doing core programming/ intense ML, Python may be your go-to mainly because of the many open-source libraries, e.g. tensorflow. Some of the things tensorflow can do, R cannot even smell. At least not at this time. If you want to be a good data scientist, you should learn both R and Python. Then you'll use the applicable one at each time. These are mostly my opinions, but I'd say it's the general consensus.

Meanwhile, I offer private tutoring on data science. I teach R, Python, and statistical analysis. Anyone who needs my service can reach out. Regarding my credentials: I work as a senior data scientist and hold graduate degrees in statistics from some of the top universities in the world. My private tutoring is paid though.

I use R. Its fun and requires little coding. I am currently doing a data analysis project (Exploration) using R.

Good morning everyone

I don come again. grin

I recently registered with google data analytics, we have gotten to the practical aspect and I must those guys are trying.

My problem is that we will be using a Google spreadsheet for the analysis instead of excel. I'm afraid of learning something that will be redundant because have never come across a google spreadsheet since when have been visiting this thread

My question is, can google spreadsheet be used instead of excel?

U will only use ggogle spreedsheet for the whole period. Why shud dey advertise microsoft when they have theirs. U can dump it after ur study or believe its a new skill. I dumped mine after the study. Too many things to study, google sheet no be one of them now. U will need to practice extensively . take ur time with the course. Learn sql, r programming , tableau on ur own too. Search the web for tutorials. U can also buy resources from udemy to complement the study. U can reach me if u need any assistance.Did u register for the yearly programm or monthly
