Check the human development indicators i.e check Finland's Income over Capita, check their health and judicial systems, check their human welfare systems where the vulnerable a are sufficiently catered for with public taxes and juxtapose it with Nigeria where lunatics, beggars and even average folks are left to die on the cold streets. Check their policing system where you dial an emergency number and the police tend to your needs almost immediately. Compare it with Nigeria where police don't always have fuels in their "pickup vans" during emergency contacting, and even when they show up, billing must proceed first before service.

Finland was preparing for Russia to cut off electricity supplies early today due to its failure to pay the provider.

Russian state-owned power firm Inter RAO will stop exports because it has not been paid for energy sold via the pan-European exchange Nord Pool since May 6. No reason was given for the non-payment.

The question is HOW and WHERE is Finland getting the money to pay for the gas and electricity?

Finland produces electricity from hydropower and thermal energy, not to forget nuclear energy. They do however import electricity from other countries to supplement their own sources of power production.

On another note, while Russia is Finland's biggest importer of natural gas, as with the other Scandinavian countries, they are big on alternative energy and they seem prepared for the eventuality of a no-crude-oil economy. At least that's the impression they create.
