Passed my theory test today on the first attempt. Practised with this Theory 4 in 1 app below, someone recommended it on this forum sometime back.

I used the Free Pass Guarantee option and practised the 763 theory questions and 85 hazard test videos all in 3 weeks. I highly recommend the app to anyone preparing to take their theory test.

Meanwhile, I appreciate any guide to studying for the practical driving test

I'm seeing multiple apps with same name in playstore. How do I know the right one?

You can't. You can open Monzo and deposit £1,000. Better still, give it to someone you trust with a traditional Bank account to deposit and transfer to you.

This might be done innocently, but the bank could determine it fits the money mule pattern, so anyone considering this should bear that in mind.

Obviously you haven't been to Peckham, Hackney or just about anywhere in Birmingstan to see masses of people living in their natural, pre-migration condition.

"Civilisation" is relative.

But you didn’t tell us that part before, did you?

That’s the exact point we were making. Yours is an exception (if it indeed happened), not the norm. A lot of mistakes happen due to laziness, high workload, and an array of other reasons. That it happened to you and a few others does not make it the norm, it often comes at a great cost when you have to refund the taxman from the money you have already spent the previous year. The fact is that tax is applied cumulatively from the first pay cycle (week or month - 1/52 or 1/12 as the case may be), not until after you have earned your full allowance for that tax year.

So, to answer the OP’s question again, tax is due for payment from the first wage/salary and their employer was right to have deducted and remitted their tax to HMRC from the first salary. This has nothing to do with tax code or gross earnings.

Waiting for the next person to quote me with the dictionary definition of tax code as if we are children that needed to be schooled cheesy

Unless you are a student, so no tax until you earn upto 12570

No thank am o. His explanation is wrong even though he sounded confident.

Tax allowance = 12k plus
Annual salary = 24k (assumption)
Monthly salary = 2k.
Taxable income = 12k (i.e 24k -12k)

You will be taxed monthly throughout the tax cycle (i.e one year). Meaning instead of paying tax on 2k monthly, you will be paying tax on 1k monthly. If your salary is less than the tax allowance (i.e 12k plus), you won't pay tax at all.

His explanation is you won't be taxed for the first 6 months till you have earned above 12k and that is wrong.

Ohh. This makes a lot of sense, lol. Thanks for the explanation

Please house, how and where can I deposit cash into my Revolut account?

I brought the cash from Naija.

Thanks
I will advise you to open a traditional bank and deposit the money. You can then transfer it to your Revolut account.

I understand what you are saying but like I will repeat if there is an option between loans and credit card you should always take a loan. There is only one winner in taking a credit card, THE CREDIT CARD COY. Repayment is fixed in loans but that's not the case ion credit cards. One of the reasons new comers in the UK run to credit cards is this misconception that the money is almost free to spend 4gotting you got to pay all back at some point. However when one reaches a level of financial maturity in the Uk a credit card is a must as it offers more protection when doing or paying for goods or services but for newbies NOP
Loan is not better, if managed your cc properly don’t pay interest or charges which is not the same with loan.

This is worrisome. So sorry that things are happening this way. While you sort this one out, I'll advise you do not use this agent/landlord as reference in the future. Look for any other references if possible. It's good that this prospective landlord revealed this to you rather than just ghosting you.
Good luck.

Definitely! Thank you for this. I was also happy the landlord mentioned this to us and this must have the reason why we weren't considered for the houses we previously applied for.
