The Truth is, apart from Lagos , and Ogun state that is reaping development from Lagos no South West state is developed in the right sense.
In Lagos you have the population and urban development as well as industries, while in Ogun you have only industries coming up due to expansion from Lagos.
Now the question is why can South West develop?
South West is not known to achieve that. They lack that enterprise and initiative. The Greatness of Lagos is a colonial effort that preceded the effort of the South West leaders coupled with the fact that it was once Nigeria's capital.
If sea ports are developed in other zones, Lagos will have less patronage.
The whole of South West has remained the way it has been year's long.
If you go to the North, the hausa or Fulani man presence in a lonely location can bring development and commercial activities in that place in less than 5years. The hausa Fulani man is is the igbo man who opens up new areas and expand, but this can not be said of South west.
And town is a tick commercial town with customers from all over Africa who buy products in millions of Nigeria. Ibadan is an ancient city with no recent developments. Ekiti, Osun, Ilorin, and Ondo are like that, you just see small capital ,the next is villages.
